How can I determine whether an address belongs to a certain area?
I have a small shop and we deliver to a couple cities around our location. I'd like to build an online tool that can take an address as input and determine whether or not it falls within our delivery boundaries. My boundaries are made up of streets. Is there some kind of way to use a map solution like Yahoo! maps, google maps, mapquest, etc. to mark my boundaries and determine if an address falls within it?
By the way, I won't always have access to postal codes.
I've got a web server running php and mysql if that helps.
2 AnswersProgramming & Design8 years agoWhat can I use to search images with an image?
I'm looking to have a database of images and allow the user to submit an image and it would in turn show him similar images from my database - similar to Google's image search, but on a much smaller scale. Is this possible using php/mysql?
1 AnswerProgramming & Design8 years agoGenerate csv/pdf from HTML/Javascript?
Is there any way to generate a csv/pdf download from strictly html and javascript? Please keep in mind that there is no back-end support (so no php/asp.net/etc).
ex. I've got:
<div>1,2,3,4,5</div>
Can I generate that as a csv file? Or can I create a pdf that looks like the following:
Value1: 1
Value2: 2
etc...
Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerProgramming & Design8 years agoAllowing user through htaccess file (Dynamic IP?)?
I'd like to be the only one that can access my website (through my home computer). However, I do not have a static IP address. If I allow my IP address and deny all others and my IP address changes - I would get blocked by my htaccess file right?
Is there any way around this? (I understand I can password protect it but I was hoping to do it using the IP address to restrict the location)
1 AnswerComputer Networking8 years agoHow can I split a T1 line into 24 digital lines?
If I have a T1 line, how can I split it into 24 (or less) digital lines? I've been doing some research and I've found that I may need PRI software. However, I still don't know what kind of hardware I would need or even which PRI software does the job well and where I can find such software.
Any information towards splitting a T1 line would be greatly appreciated!
I apologize if I'm getting any of the terminology incorrect.

3 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoNo Sound From Tv, but Pictures Fine.?
I have a "Next" LCD tv and it works fine when I have the XBOX 360 hooked up to it. However, once I put it on to the tv mode with freeview, the sound stops working, but the picture is fine. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the hardware of the tv or something to do with the setup, but any help would be appreciated.
1 AnswerTVs9 years agoWhat kind of programming language/databases should I use for order taking software?
I'm trying to do a side project that would involve designing a customer service software so that employees can place orders for clients. A detailed record of orders must be kept for every client.
I was thinking about designing this in visual C++. However, I am not sure how I would handle a database through C++. There would be a lot of information and I was thinking that text files may not be as reliable as a database.
Of course, I am not very experienced in the matter and I was looking for some advice that would get me started off. What I am essentially trying to do is recreate my dad's small business software for educational purposes. I believe he currently has his program running through VB and Microsoft Access along with an SQL server.
