  • My parents are divorced and my dad keeps blocking ever little bit of progress we make with my sister with psychological problems?

    The situation is like this:

I am a 19 year old girl, spending my time away from home for 9 months. In 2 months I am returning. I live with my mom and sister, my parents got a divorce in the summer of 2014.

My sister is 15 years old and has lots of psychological problems. Before the divorce she always was a bit different from other kids. She was showing signs of depression, cut herself, and had problems fitting in at school. After the divorce the problem intensified and not too long ago she got diagnosed with:

    - Anxiety disorder

    - Non-verbal learning disorder

    - Some autistic characteristics

    - And a little bit of Borderline personality disorder.

It's been insanely hard for my mom to help my sister get through this and support her in every way possible. It drains her of almost all of her energy. But my mom is determinded to help my sister become as healthy in her mind as possible.

My dad... does not live with us anymore. I think I have enough reason to say that atleast half of the 'disorders' my sister has come from his side of the family. In fact he has a lot of autistic characteristics himself. Sadly he hasn't been very supportive of the way my mom is handeling my sister.

He is convinced there is nothing wrong with my sister. I am quoting:

"According to me she doesn't have a disorder, but she needs help, she has a lot of problems because of the past." Because of this reason he critizes every bit of help my sister recieves. He hates the labels my sister got.

  • I'm a christian, my boyfriend is not, struggeling with sex?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for one month.I don't want to have sex before marriage which he didn't understand. Now he respects this decision of mine, but he told me he wishes for me to do other stuff.I felt not okay with it, but he kept begging so I gave in.We tried a handjob, but I'm not good at it, so in the end he just put his you-know-what between my legs and rubbed it like that.

I thought that this way he would finally shut up about sex but of course that's not true.

He kept going on about how wonderful it was for him and he hopes to do it at least once a week.I tried to tell him I'm not ok with that, but he ignored it and told me sex is a part of a relationship, we can't do without. I'm 18 and he is my first 'serious' boyfriend. So I don't know what's 'normal' and honestly I don't care. All I know is I feel dirty, guilty and disgusted by what we did and I don't want to do it anymore. He gets angry when I say no to these kind of things because he thinks it's not sex and not forbidden by Bible. When I try to explain I just don't want to do it cuz I'm not comfortabel, he says everything that's new feels uncomfortable and that I should just try.And after we did something once and I try to stop him while doing it the second time he tells me I shouldn't say no to stuff we did already once before. His arguments just never stop.Apart from the whole sex thing we are wonderful together and happily in love.

I just don't know what to do anymore, anyone who can help??

  • Boyfriend wants to stop meeting because of 'blue balls'?

So I'm 18 years and a devoted christian. It might sound really oldfashioned to you but I believe that sex is only for after marriage. My boyfriend has been great and respects my ideas and believes.

But today he told me that he has gotten a lot of pain in his balls every time after meeting me. After googling about it, it turns out this is called having 'blue balls'.

The point if I really caused it, I would just stop that behaviour. But he told me he already feels aroused after simply holding hands, hugging or kissing.

Apparently the pain has gotten so bad it's becoming unbearable. It just hurts too much in his opinion. So today he told me it might better not to meet up anymore. Because he literally gets it everytime we meet. I totally understand that it must be horrible for him, but not meeting anymore just sounds so terrible. He doesn't want to break up, but simply not meet up. But I don't understand how we can be together if we don't meet up anymore.

This issue makes me really sad and I would really like to know if there's any way to fix this.

PS: No I'm not doing blow/handjobs. He doesn't even want me to do that. So it's no option.

  • My best friend keeps complaining about my behaviour?

So it's like this, my best friend and I have been friends for 4 years now. We became friends at the age of 13 and we are still best buddies even now. And we share everything, and with everything I really mean everything. We really share each others lives so to say.

The point is... I have always had a dominating personality. I can be pretty bossy sometimes and a bit of a know-all. Things I know about myself and don't like at all.

My friend on the other hand has always been the following type, she didn't mind me taking the lead (not that she doesn't have a backbone or anything! She can stand up for herself like no other.) She just isn't that keen on making fast decisions, so I was always the one who did that.

But just recently my friend has started going through this progress, in which she decided for herself that she wants to be more grown-up and independent. Something I think is a really good thing, so I support her! But since she has started going through this process she all of sudden thinks that my way of doing certain things is wrong and annoying. And she is really straight forward and just tells me so when I do something she doesn't like. Now don't get me wrong, I totally appreciate that she just honestly tells me such stuff, it makes the relationship easier plus a bit of feedback is good. This way I can grow too.

But recently she just keeps commenting on every little thing that annoys her, it almost seems like I totally annoy her as a person. Plus when I told her that I was happy we didn't fight that much she laughed a bit and told me: "You don't wanna know how often I restrain myself." To be honest I was totally shocked when she told me that. It makes it seem like I am the only one enjoying this relationship we have. Like she is just putting up with me. Also one night I was at her house, and we kinda got to the subject of working in the holidays and then she all of sudden told me she had a job application at an inn. I was really surprised. Normally we would always tell this kinda stuff to each other right away, and now I only got to hear it a week later. I know I should be happy that she told me anyways, but I couldn't stop myself from thinking:'If we hadn't talked about this subject she probably wouldn't have told me at all."

The point is that it's starting to look like she is getting sick of me. I know that you can grow apart as friends, but the way it goes now seems unfair to me. Also if I really annoy her that much then why won't she stay away from me? She keeps clinging to me anyway and gets angry if I for example make homework earlier than her (we always make it together.) I don't know.. but to be honest I find the way she uses our friendship now kinda selfish. She gets pissed at me the whole time because of the things I do in a certain way, but if I try to let her alone for a bit and just do different stuff she gets angry because we used to do those together. I just don't get it anymore!

So I was wondering.. what do you guys think?

I am planning on talking to her about it but right now still isn't the right time.

I just had to get it off my sleeve.

  • Band with female vocal in the same genre like Coldplay/Snow Patrol?

Does someone know a good band with female vocal?

I'm really into Snow Patrol, Coldplay, The Script, Keane and The Fray.

It would be nice if the band fell in the same genre.

(I already know: Paramore, Hey Monday etc. but they just weren't what I was searching for)

  • How to describe a voice (Dutch people please help!)?

    Hello everyone,

I'm have a bit of trouble with my writing. Right now I need to describe the voices of my characters and I'm completely blank. I know a lot of words in English to describe someones voice (a ringing voice, husky voice, whatnot) but in Dutch it stays difficult for me even though I'm Dutch ;) (English just sounds more poetic) So I was wondering if there are Dutch people out there who can help me for a bit. I know this isn't a Dutch forum but I thought.. why not try :)

    Thank you!

PS: English people maybe you can help me to just put some words in that are used to describe a voice, who knows maybe I can use them when I translate them into Dutch.

Oh right! I already have a simple 'sketch' of how their voices sound.

Guy 1: boyish, clear and pleasant (jongensachtig -argh haat dat woord- helder en aangenaam)

Guy 2: controlled, calm, flat, low and soft (gecontroleerd, kalm, vlak, laag en zacht)

    Please help!

  • Japanese middle school uniform ribbon tie?

You always see those cute ribbons on the Japanese girl uniform...

Now I was wondering when you put on your uniform you first have to make/tie the ribbon or is it already in the right shape? (maybe a stupid question for those who know, but I really can't figure it out O_o)

Do the girls in middle school learn to do this (also how to put it around their neck) ?

    Thanks! Bye ;)

  • Great (romantic) asian drama's?

First of all: I know everybody is hyped up about You're Beautiful, Hana Kimi, Boys Before Flowers, Mary Stayed Out All Night and what not =.= I like them BUT I didn't find them that great. Too much drama, sadness and well I don't know.. just something about those drama's annoyed me! (sorry for the people who really like them..)

Drama's I did like though are most of the time simple and veeery cute!

    Examples from best to so-so:

    1 Buzzer Beat

(LOOOVED THIS ONE! cute, simple, short, romantic, definitely my favored! The only drama I watched 3 times)

2 Tatta Hitotsu no Koi (LOOOVED THIS ONE!! It was so sweet and pure!)

3 Kimi wa Petto (Liked how spoiled the boy was and kept asking for attention)

4 Heartstrings (music was good, storyline was good and the actress was amazing ;) Only didn't like the ending..)

5 Asuko March (not everyone will probably know this one, but it's so cute ^^)

6 Mei-chan no Shitsuji (this one was alright... liked the setup but I wish there was more romance)

7 Ouran High School Host Club (watched the anime and read the manga so of course also the drama)

This is just a bit of the drama's I have seen =.= There are soo many.. but I forgot the name of most of them so yeah. My question for you guys is if you can give me some names of good drama's..

I prefer them not too long (except if the storyline is veeery good) and the best would be if they're Japanese. I like it when a guy is going all out to win the heart of a girl. Ah! And guys fighting over one girl is not bad either, as long it still stays 'fun' to watch (not like Hana Kimi) It doesn't matter if the drama is not that well known... And comedy is always good ^^

Please help ;) Thanks and greetings!!

  • Cursing and swearing in Japan?

    Alright weird question I know!

But I was just kinda wondering...

I'm 16 years old and well I swear a lot (not the ...damn way because I'm a Christian..)

Now I kinda noticed that when we swear in the Netherlands we actually use many English words like: crap, sh-it and well you know the F word... Sure we use a lot of Dutch words as well but still.

Now I was wondering how this is in Japan? Do the people there only use Japanese cursing words?

Thank you for reading this kind of awkward question ;)

    Please answer!

    Greetings

  • Do japanese really talk in the third person?

Alright.. this is kind of a weird question and maybe a bit dumb.

But in manga I always notice that there is this 'cute' person that talks about him/herself in the third person. This always amazes and annoys me. I know that the mangaka let them speak this way to make the character more cute. But still... are there Japanese people/students/kids who talk about themself in the third person?

    Thanks!

  • What does Dutch sound like to forgeiners?

So I'm Dutch.. Here in the Netherlands we learn a lot of languages (English, German, French and sometimes Latin and Greek) I also know some Japanese and a bit Turkish. I know how all those different languages sound.. But how does Dutch sound to you guys?

As example: I think Japanese sounds very cute and soft. To me it sounds like a baby who is trying to talk, making different words that sound cute but don't make any sense to me :)

another example: Turkish sounds to me like someone who is partying.. LOL weird right? I dunno it sounds kinda cheerful I guess? It also kinda reminds me of someone who's drunk =.=

(no offense! I just write down how it strikes me)

English is for me a little bit hard to tell... I speak it fluently so it's like Dutch to me.

Urgh I don't really know how I should describe German and French.

German is kinda like Dutch, so it kinda occurs to me like that special language the farmers speak.. ^^ You know a dialect. Here in the Netherlands we call such a dialect "boers". Don't really know what it is in English. Google translates it as 'boorish' and 'countrified'. Does that ring any bells?

And then French.. The language that I am the worst at. It's also a very soft language. Oh I know!! It's like a mother softly talking to a child. Reassuring it that everything is alright.

Well could someone give a description like this to Dutch? (Listen a couple of video's on youtube... if you want any music than is Blof or Nick en Simon a good way to start)

Please help! I'm very curious :)
