We need to get our 10 year old dog to use pee pads, how do we train him?
We have a 10 year old Pit bull who hurt his front leg and he has a hard time going down the stairs and we can't keep carrying him as he weighs 60 lbs and my boyfriend has extruded discs in his back. We need to try to get him to use pee pads but he has absolutely no interest in them, he is well potty trained to go outside but we are trying to get him to go on pee pads. What is the best way to train him? We live on the second floor so there is no "keeping him on the first floor", Thank you in advance.
3 AnswersDogs10 years agoWhat is the name of this famous Jamaican song?
"Jamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaica" (very loud and higher than the second one)
"Jamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaica" (slightly quieter and lower)
That's all I remember from this song. This is a very famous Jamaica song, probably from long ago. Would really love to know what it's called and who sings it. Thank you. I love Jamaica almost as much as the people singing about it.
1 AnswerLyrics1 decade agoService dog for hypertension?
My husband's doctor prescribed the use of a dog (A pet rather, but we chose a dog) to help lower his blood pressure, as we do not believe in medication. The dog does not do any "Tasks" other than help control his owners blood pressure. So far is it working pretty well and my question is does this make him a service animal? Emotional Support animal, or what? I do want to know what our dog may be in the way of service/emotional support animal, because if we move to a new home that does not allow pets or his breed or travel for any length of time it would be like leaving without your medication, and can be dangerous. Can we take him with us? He is also a "restricted breed" in most places and I want to know what our rights are, if we have any.
Oh and he is well behaved too, so we would not be bringing any nuisance into a new home or for travel, he could easily pass any Canine Good Citizen test or whatever is needed for it.
Thank you in advance!
5 AnswersDogs1 decade agoI refrigerated dough for biscuits and it smells "fermented"?
Is it still okay to use?
I let it rise twice, put it int he fridge for 24 hours and now I took it out to bake it and it basically smells like beer.
Is it still OK? It has milk, egg and yeast in it.
Thanks!

When I get sick the worst part of it is the body aches, my skin becomes very very sensitive to touch, even my clothing hurts!
What is the best over the counter pain reliever for this? I don't need a fever reducer though if that makes a difference.
Thank you!!!
8 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoWhat types of fish are alright for my dog to eat?
Now I am asking this question again, I am going to start cooking for my dog, I want him to have fish in his diet.
I have done research on this I know the proportions of protein, carbs, fats etc. to give. I DO want to COOK so please don't tell me to go raw, I KNOW about salmon poisoning, that is why I am COOKING. Don't tell me I am doing bad because I am cooking instead of feeding raw, it is still better than kibble in my opinion and safer than raw in my opinion, you have your opinion about this I am sure... and I don't want to hear it because it does not answer my question, this is not an opinions blog.
All I want is a list of fish that are alright to be a main part of his diet. I know about tuna being bad in large quantities, so this is why I am asking.
Thank you.

6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoStock Photo sites, good ones, very cheap to free ones please.?
Hi there I am looking for good Stock Photo sites,
I really don't have the money to be spending $20-$70 a photo, I am interested in doing some graphic design more for hobby than anything else but I am also very picky of the photos that I use. (I know not a good combination, free site and great photos)
I am just curious,
Is Deviantart.com a free stock photo place?
and can I use photos from Flickr.com?
I'm just starting out in this and know I cannot just take any photo from anywhere so your help is greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU!!!
4 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoWhat fruits can I feed my tropical fish?
I have danios, guppies, gouramis, mystery snails and a plecostomus.
I give them veggies regularly (once a week) and I am interested in giving them fruit, what is safe for them?
1 AnswerFish1 decade agoHow long can a single guppy live in a 1.5 gallon tank with no aeration?
The reason I ask this is because I have a 55 gallon tank with a bunch of fish in it, and half of them are guppies, I have one really old female that I think has gone blind. She runs into things, is very skinny and just seems to aimlessly hunt for food when she smells it. I want to give her the best chance of surviving or at least a peaceful death as she constantly has males chasing her, but she has not gotten pregnant in the last 2 months so I want to put her in a small tank. I just don't have a filter or anything for it, just a heater. How long can she go without aeration, just this way I know how often to do it myself.
Thank you in advance.
4 AnswersFish1 decade agoTropical fish and blanching foods, what's safe and how to?
I have a few guppies, danios, a dwarf gourami and a blue gourami, and a Pleco, also a couple mystery snails.
What vegetables are safe for them? and how do I blanch? I know it has to do with boiling the food but for how long do I do it? and does it have to be in de-chlorinated water?
Thank you for your help!
ps don't worry my tank is not over crowded, it is a 55 gallon. :)
2 AnswersFish1 decade agoGourami and other fish help....?
Okay so in the last two weeks I have lost three fish mysteriously in the middle of the night. Now originally I thought it was my Pleco, since they can become aggressive and territorial.
So I have been feeding him and watching for a few nights now with no aggression from him, he does shoot out of his castle pretty fast but then gently searches the floor for food. But tonight I notice my 3 inch blue 3 spotted gourami "suction cupping" so my full grown dwarf gourami, and the dwarf just kinda took it... it seemed kinda like it was trying to get away then kinda sat there and took it, I broke it up (the three spot is terrified of people) and didn't see any scales missing from the dwarf but he was breathing awfully hard. Is this normal? Or is this something I should be worried about? About the time I started losing fish I had re-arranged the plants (they are fake) and took some out so the two gouramis could fit in between them, and I have noticed the three spot coming out of hiding in the castle a lot more now and he seems much happier. Could it be that he is now becoming territorial and is killing the other fish? The fish I have lost are two guppies and a otto cat fish.
All the other fish are small and non aggressive types, so it is either the three spot or the pleco. and the three spot seems afraid of his own shadow and the pleco seems pretty docile. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

2 AnswersDogs1 decade agoMale betta in my aquarium?
I asked this question last night and I got quite a few mixed answers, Im going to ask again with more info on my tank and fish and such.
I want to know if a male betta would be okay in my tank. The fish I have are
4 guppies (None are fancy but they are kinda bright in color)
6 Zebra danios (3 are long finned)
1 full grown dwarf gourami
1 3-4 inch blue 3 spotted gourami
1 4-5 inch pleco
2 oto. catfish
and a zillion baby guppies (like 20-ish)
2 mystery snails
Stats of my tank
55 gallon
65 pounds black gravel
10 flake plants of different sizes and types
large 2 piece castle in the middle
fluval filstar xp2 filter
stock lights
Now most people said "Watch out for that big blue three spotted gourami! He might hurt the betta!"...but he is scared of his own shadow, he hides all day in a castle and comes out when I am not in the room, and when he does so he searches for food and then hides again, he is not aggressive at all. The other dwarf gourami is not aggressive, he does "own" one secton of the tank but other than that he isn't territorial, and he doesn't even chase any one away, he just likes it there most and enoys the plants and hunting baby guppies....of which he never catches.
All of the guppies are very calm, I first thought the only male guppy was a girl because of how calm he is, if it wasn't for the fin that only males have I would have said he was a really pretty girl, he barely even dances for the girls...so he would not bother the betta. The danios are crazy, but they are danios, they have never hurt any other fish and usually only bicker with themselves, they chase a guppy once and a while, but there has been no fin damage.
so what I'm afraid of is the betta hurting my calm fish, I dont want my guppies to die, I like them way too much for that. The betta will be fine, but will my other fish be fine?
And as for food I feed them Omega One flake food with Omega One blood worms and frozen brine shrimp. (Not all at once, I don't over feed I promise, I feed once every other day)
So the protien content is pretty good for the betta, but would I still need a betta food?
Thank you for your help!
9 AnswersFish1 decade agoMale betta in my aquarium??
Well I have guppies, four of them, no super fancy with large tails, but they are bright. Would the male see them as another betta? Also I have longfined zebra danios. They nip, but I have seen no damage to anyone's fins.
The other fish I have are
a dwarf gourami
a blue 3 spotted gourami
4-5 inch pleco
2 oto. catfish
and a zillion baby guppies
2 mystery snails
I'm assuming the betta would enjoy eating the baby guppies...but would he eat himself to death?
It would be so beautiful to have a betta in there, I had one with goldfish once and he was fine, but these are more colorful fish and more baby guppies than he would know what to do with. However they hide VERY well. (there are many fake plants in there, around 10 or so)
Anyways, let me know what you think! I am fine with no as an answer, I don't want to hurt any fishies.
Thanks for any advice!
7 AnswersFish1 decade agoI just wanted to share this funny baby guppy story...
I was feeding my fish today, and while watching them I noticed out of the corner of my eye something moving in the filter! I have a canister filter with a clearish blue case and through the case I saw two baby guppies staring at me! I was in shock, I quickly stoped the filter and took it to the bathroom where I clean it, and took out everything inside it to reveal there were actually 12 babies in there! I have no idea how long they have been accumulating in there, since the filter has only been set up for 2 weeks and I was planning on cleaning it in another 2 weeks they were lucky I found them now. Foruneately there were no dead babies, so they either were not there for very long or they got plenty of food in there, but I thought it was pretty funny after I got them all out.
So if you have guppies, and they have babies, and a canister filter...Keep an eye out! I'm going to get some mesh or something to cover the filter end that sucks the water in with so no more get sucked up!
