7 AnswersProgramming & Design7 years agoDid anyone ever actually make these graphics cards?
Recently I was reading through Wikipedia for a little information about Nvidia's 600 series, Here:(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_600_Series). I saw that the GT 620 and GT 630 were listed to also support the PCI interface as well as PCI-express. Obviously the PCI-express versions are much more abundant because of the additional bandwidth, but I am trying to upgrade a ten year old system as much as I can without swapping the motherboard which has no AGP or PCI-express slots, just PCI. I was wondering if anyone knows of a company that really manufactured anything better than a GT 610 with a PCI interface. It has become really hard to search for. Any help at all would be appreciated.

I have an ASRock Z87M OC Formula. Every week or so the clock gets about 2 minutes ahead, so I have to set it back.
4 AnswersDesktops7 years agoHow do I fix my Busted Radeon 5870?
I bought two Radeon HD 5870s on craigslist and before I got the chance to use them they were thrown from the seat of my car to the floor of my car because of a sudden stop. I really don't know if this effected anything but only one of them is working at all. The busted one will not show any display and if it is connected to a secondary PCI-e slot it will be recognized properly in the OS as a Radeon 5800 series. I already tried baking it with no change.
1 AnswerOther - Hardware7 years agoWhy can't my PC run litecoin mining programs?
I have a PC with Windows 7, a Radeon HD 6950, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, and 8GB of RAM. Everytime I run cgminer it either stops working before it even starts or close immediately after opening. GUIminer-scrypt keeps showing up as an icon on my taskbar briefly but also disappears after a few seconds. Why would this be happening and what can I do to fix it? I have the AMD 12.8 Driver installed as well as the SDK.
1 AnswerSoftware7 years agoWhich type of GPU cooler should I use?
I am in the process of building a new PC in a Fractal Design Define Mini MicroATX chassis and am planning on using two GTX 760s in SLI. Because the cards will be stacked directly on top of each other I was wondering if that should affect my choice of which 760s to get. I understand that in typical applications an aftermarket cooler would be better because they are generally quieter and more effective at cooling the GPU, but I also know that reference style fans can sometimes be better for SLI because the isolate the hot air and push it out of the back. I plan on filling all fan mounting positions in the case for good airflow. I would like to hear a definitive answer as to which style cooler is better for this scenario or if either one will perform admirably.
2 AnswersAdd-ons8 years agoWhere can I get the antennas I need?
I am almost done with a new computer build using an ASRock Z87M OC Formula in a Fractal Design Define Mini case. I am going to be using the Mini PCI-e half height card for the wireless and I see that there are three places on the I/O shield that can be knocked out to be used for antennas, but none come with the motherboard and I have not been able to find any on Newegg. So if anyone knows where I can get two mini pci-e antennas for my computer your imput would be greatly appreciated.

1 AnswerOther - Hardware8 years agoWhy won't my TV find any channels?
A few weeks back I was using a 26" Westinghouse television as a computer monitor. One leg on the desk it was on broke and everything on the desk was dropped on the floor. I don't think affected it too much though becauee I was still using it as a computer monitor just fine after that. I recently was setting it back to be a TV again but it will only find a few channels. There are two of these in my house and the other one finds the channels fine, is there any way I could try to fix it?
1 AnswerTVs8 years agoWill 2 GTX 570's perform better than a GTX 770?
I managed to get a simply awesome deal on craigslist for a GTX 570 ($100!) and wonder if it would be better for me to sell it and buy a GTX 770 or to buy another one (for probably around $150) to SLI. And before anyone asks my motherboard and 850 Watt PSU would support it.
1 AnswerDesktops8 years agoChanging Vcache in system.ini not allowing >512MB of RAM in windows 98, What do?

2 AnswersAdd-ons8 years agoLenovo G580 upgrade to i7-3632QM?
I am interested in a new laptop and really enjoy working inside computers. The Lenovo G580 is sold with a Pentium B960 and a HM76 Chipset. I need to know if the i7-3632QM will work in its motherboard. I know that they both have 35W max TDP, fit in the socket G2, and are supported by the chipset. The upgrade should logically work but I need to know for sure before buying it. My concerns are just that when I look up the motherboard on eBay it says it's socket pga989. That's the G1 socket but from what I have researched the B960 won't fit in socket G1. I really just need someone to confirm that I can replace it with confidence.

I know that desktop boards can sometimes support newer processors without needing more than a bios update usually, does the same apply to laptop boards?
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks8 years agoMultiple drives, single partition, no RAID. Possible?
I have a computer that I would like to set up with 2 250GB HDDs as a single 500GB partition, but not in RAID. They are identical IDE HDDs and I currently have them set up through a PCI IDE RAID controller in RAID 0. My issue is that through RAID (It's probably the controller's issue) the available space between the two is only 255GB. I would like to have 500GB (465GB actual) available in a single partition because I hate managing two separate partitions in Windows more than I hate the space loss. Is it possible for me to set this up without changing my hardware or using RAID?
3 AnswersDesktops8 years agoIs there an effective Nvidia Geforce 8 series driver for Windows 98 SE?
I have a dual boot Windows 7/Windows 98 SE computer that I like to use for gaming both in older games that don't work so well on the newer OS and modern casual games. I figured that the 8500 GT should be able to play most modern games at an acceptable frame rate and have seen online people claiming to have modded drivers for windows 98 support, but the only times I haven't been able to follow the download links. Hopefully someone here knows or can find an effective 8 series driver for windows 98.

2 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation10 years agoHow much would it cost to get the interior vinyl in my 1968 mustang replaced?
I think the title is pretty self-explanatory: I have a 1968 mustang coupe with a vinyl top and the vinyl on the inside that stretches over the top is cracked and shrunk, I need to know how much it would most likely cost to get it replaced.
1 AnswerFord1 decade agoHow do you use the parking brake on a 1968 Mustang?
I just got a 1968 mustang, and I noticed that it has a parking brake pedal, and a little clicking button under it, and a lever you can pull out; these are the only controls on the car that I do not understand how to operate/what they do to the fullest. Please explain this to the best of your ability.
