  • Best shoes for running?

I have been running for about two years now on a very low key basis just to stay in shape. While doing this, I was wearing a basic pair of Gel Asics. I have now started running about four to five days a week, running about fifteen miles a week. My goal is to run ten miles by late April. The more I run, the more I realize I need new sneakers. The Asics are giving me blisters between my toes, as well as on the inside arch of my foot. I also feel as if they are quite heavy. Right now, I am mostly running on a treadmill because of the frigid air temperatures. Although I would like a lighter shoe, I still need a shoe with support, for I have very flat feet. Do any of you have suggestions as to what may work? Again, I am new to all this, just trying to find what will work best! Thanks for your help!

  • What is the best way to exchange money?

This month, I am traveling from the US to England, Switzerland, and France. I currently have a visa card, but have heard that not all places accept these credit cards. With this said, is it easier to buy an international debit card and get the money s currency out of an ATM when I get there, exchange the money here in the US, or exchange the US money for that countries currency at a exchange booth in that specific country? Any other suggestions are welcome, first time traveling out of the country!

P.S.- I am a minor, so may not have all the available resources an adult may have!

  • Advice on becoming a vegetarian?

I am making the personal decision to become a vegetarian for myself, and for the animal cruelty aspect of it. I currently sometimes will consume meat for lunch and dinner. I am not a very "adventurous" eater, so I know this will be a bit hard for me, but I am committed to the cause. When I think of being a vegetarian I automatically think "oh I will have to eat salad for the rest of my life". I know this is not true, so I was wondering what foods you all enjoy to keep your diet diverse. Any advice on becoming a vegetarian and foods that could maybe replace these meats would be awesome! Also any helpful tips or tricks are cool too! Thanks

  • Lighter bits for soft mouths?

I have a thoroughbred who has a very soft mouth. She currently uses a happy mouth D-ring snaffle, but needs something a bit stronger that is still soft on her mouth, but that gives me a bit more control when she gets stronger. Any ideas?

  • Dynasty and Yamaha Trumpet thoughts?

I am an intermediate Trumpet student, who has been playing for 7 years. I play in the marching band, symphonic band, and jazz band. (all leads, so lots of high notes). I have a former marching band member selling his Yamaha 6345G trumpet, with a gold bell and large bore, and also a Dynasty with a large bore (marching horn). He is a trumpet major, and both instruments were his prior to this, so I trust that they are good quality and such, but would like further opinions. I am getting reviews that the Yamaha is wonderful, but mixed reviews about the Dynasty. I would be aiming to use the Dynasty for marching, and the Yamaha for symphonic, jazz, and pit. So any feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks!

  • Half- seat or 3 point?

I typically ride in hunter divisions, but this weekend I am competing in hunter, as well as equitation classes. I have seen people canter in a half seat, as well as a 3 point (fully sitting in the saddle) position, yet I am not sure which is correct in an eq class. I can ride either way fine, but I wasn't sure the proper way, or what a licensed judge looks for. So if anyone has any advice if they are an experienced eq rider, or judge it would be greatly appreciated!

  • Best Camcorder to record action video?

I know absolutley nothing about camcorders! Ask me anything about apple and I could tell you, but camcorders are not my thing! I ride horses, so I always like videos and pictures to be taken of me! Right now I have a Fujifilm FinePix s700, which does not take the quality video or photos I would like. My budget is around $350. So I guess I am looking for a camcorder that takes a great action video. Any suggestions?

  • Best Camera to record video?

Right now I have a Fujifilm FinePix s700, which does not take the quality video or photos I would like. My budget is around $350. Any suggestions?

  • Remedy to scratches disease?

My mare has previously had a small case of "scratches" on her hind legs, and eventually with some mild soap, cream, and keeping dry, it went away. Now, she has it right on her back, just under the saddle area. I have never heard of a case of scratches on the back of a horse. As of now, it does not seem to bother her much, but im sure the longer it is there, the more it will get irritated. I have researched how the disease starts, so I will avoid frequent bathing, and try to keep her dry at all times, but besides that, does anyone have suggestions for a remedy? I will clean it with a Micro Tek shampoo, and put Desitin on it, but is there a faster solution? thanks so much for any advice, or knowledge!

  • Preference of 4h or pony club?

I have been riding for 8 years now and am a young teen. I own a 14.2 black and white paint mare who loves to go out cross country, show jumping, gets trained in dressage and just loves doing whatever is thrown at her. I have always participated in 4h but have heard a lot of great things about pony club also. With a very active 4h club, school, and all around sports, I only have time for one or the other. I know that pony club is a large commitment (from what I have heard from friends), and am willing to give anything a try. Just wondering if you like one or the other? If so then why? I really love 4h, but I have heard that pony club is more hands on and riding. 4h is awesome I have learned so much and done so many new things throughout the state and country, but what is pony club like compared to 4h? and any other cool info about pony club and stuff would be awesome!

  • Tricks for tail growth?

I currently am showing a grey thoroughbred mare (16.3 and 6 years old). As we all know, most thoroughbreds naturally have thinner tails (some have thick ones! would love for that to happen), but are there any tricks to give it some more length or thickness? I dont brush her tail on a regular basis, and no horse in her field chews on her tail. I have tried MTG just incase horse chew on her tail, but not much is working. When I show her at A rated shows we put a fake tail in, but it would be nice for her tail to be a bit longer and thicker. Any suggestions?
