  • Caught the Cons lying again?

Lying Cons on this thread, claiming Obama was never a professor: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Av62G...

Versus the truth, in a statement directly from the University of Chicago itself:

    http://www.law.uchicago.edu/media/

"From 1992 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Barack Obama served as a professor in the Law School. He was a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996. He was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year. Senior Lecturers are considered to be members of the Law School faculty and are regarded as professors, although not full-time or tenure-track. The title of Senior Lecturer is distinct from the title of Lecturer, which signifies adjunct status. Like Obama, each of the Law School's Senior Lecturers has high-demand careers in politics or public service, which prevent full-time teaching. Several times during his 12 years as a professor in the Law School, Obama was invited to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track position, but he declined."

  • Why do Cons think Hitler confiscated guns?

At no time did Hitler confiscate weapons during his time in power. A gun registration was required for weapons, but that was instituted during the Weimar Republic, almost a decade before Hitler came to power.

At no time did Hitler confiscate weapons from his citizens. The Allied forces did that when they entered Germany at the end of the war -- if Hitler had taken their guns away, how would the Allies have been able to confiscate any weapons?

Why must Conservatives tell blatant lies?

  • What does "Mission Accomplished" and "end of major combat operations" mean to you?

On May 1, 2003, President Bush declared the end of major combat operations in Iraq in a speech from the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln. This speech would become known as his "Mission Accomplished" speech due to a banner with that slogan in view overhead. At the outset of the speech, President Bush stated: "Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed. And now our coalition is engaged in securing and reconstructing that country. In this battle, we have fought for the cause of liberty, and for the peace of the world."
