  • Wedding question - What should I do?

My sister gets married in 2 weeks. Yesterday, at the end of an email about meal choices, she tacked on a quick 'will you be matron of honour?'. The whole of the wedding, including all her choices for bridesmaids, witnesses and people doing readings was sorted out months ago.

She was may only bridesmaid when I got married, and whilst I was a bit upset not to be asked to have any role in her wedding at all, it was fine, because it's her wedding. To be asked at this late stage in that way makes me think someone has pushed her to do it (probably our mother, but I haven't said anything to anyone about this).

I'd rather just be left out than only be included because she's been made to or feels like she has to. What would you do if you were me?

  • Who's liable if a parcel goes missing?

I bought something from an online store, which got lost in the post. It's really the Royal Mail's fault, but should the store refund me? If not, I lose out, if they do refund me, they lose out. What's the legal position on who is responsible for bearing the loss?

    Thanks.

  • How can I move stuck toolbars in MS Word for the Mac?

Somehow, the toolbars in my copy of Word have shifted to the left, so the area at the very left hand side that you can click to grab and shift the toolbar is off the screen, as are some of the buttons. Trying to click and drag on anywhere else on the toolbar doesn't work, nor does restarting Word, nor does resetting the toolbars. It's REALLY annoying. What can I do? Any ideas? Thanks.

  • How long should an eternity ring last? Opinions please!?

When our second child was born, 18 months ago, my husband bought me a platinum and diamond eternity ring. It looks a bit like this: http://www.thediamondjeweller.co.uk/catalogue/cate...

In the past couple of months, 2 of the stones stopped reflecting the light in the same way as the others - one appeared to have the reflective face sheared off, and the other looks chipped. (It's hard to tell though, as they're tiny). Now one of the stones has completely fallen out.

The sales guarantee says the ring should be inspected every 6 months to keep it valid. I am furious. What do you reckon - an eternity ring should last longer than a year and a half shouldn't it?

  • Explaining my being on a diet to a child without making her too concerned about weight and food issues.?

Hi, I want to lose some weight, and for a number of practical and emotional reasons, believe a meal replacement, SlimFast type diet would be best for me.

However, I have 2 daughters, aged 5 and 1, and with the summer holidays coming up, they'll see that I'm not having the same food as them, and it's a dead cert that the older one will ask about it. There seems to be so much in the media about how even very young girls are becoming worried about and fixated on weight issues and being fat. (They are both ideal weight for their height)

What's the best way to explain to her why I'll be having shakes instead of the same food as them?

    Thank you!

  • Planned C-section or normal delivery?

I am pregnant with my second baby, and my obstetrician has agreed that I can have a planned c-section. This is because I had a very difficult, long labour with my first daughter (now 3 and a half). I was left with significant pain for some time, and post-traumatic stress.

I'm really relieved to be having a c-section, I never want to go through another experience like my first labour again, but now people keep giving me dire warnings about how bad the recovery is, and all the things that could go wrong.

Have you had an elective cesearian? If so, how bad is it? Do you think it would be better for me to risk a normal birth?
