  • Lobe Piercing at Claires?

I know, I know, but I have 20% off voucher on piercing at Claires, I'm thinking of getting my second set done. Is Claires that bad with lobe piercings? I got my first set done when I was 6 months old with a gun at a jewellers somewhere. Apart from the fact that they do it next to the window, the guns comes out of sterile bags, as do the earrings right?

Anyone have any experiences with ear lobe piercing at Claires? Don't worry I won't get my cartilage pierced there, I do know better than that.

  • Why do you have to be 18 too . . . .?

Why do you have to be 18 to donate bone marrow? I'm 15, I'm on the organ donation register and I would like to donate bone marrow. My uncle is thought to be suffering from leukemia, although he may not need a transplant yet, I would still like to be on the register to help others in more serious situations. When I was younger there was a girl across the road who i used to play with who also had leukemia and I just really want to help people like them.

It just upsets me that those who are willing to donate can;t, well not yet anyway, loads of people could die by the time I;m 18 due to not finding a match.

  • How do I sterilise my earrings?

I bought a new earring for my cartilage piercing after I got the peircer to remove the old one as the back on the barbell was stuck. Their titanium and I was wondering how to sterilise them. I usually just clean my piercing with boiled salt water, would this work with my earring too? We dont have any hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol at home as far as my knowledge goes, but there's a chemist down the road, I don't know if they would sell it though.

Would placing it in boiled water salt water do the trick?

Also I've has it pierced for two months and haven't had the earring in for two hours I'm kinda worried about it closing up, so please answer quickly, Thank you :)

  • Microsoft Excel Cell References?

Something strange has happened to my version of Microsoft excel. Okay well I use Microsoft Excel 2007. And whats happened is instead of having numbers going down the columns and letters going across, it has numbers on both sides.

So the cell reference of the first cell in the workbook would be R1C1 instead of just A1. I've used this version before and it used to have letters going across the top, so I don't know how this has happened.

Does anyone know how change it back? Because I can;t figure it out :)

Help would eb greatly appreciated because this is really annoying be and making it hard to type in cell references :)

  • TB outbreak?

Well I had a BCG jab when I was one day old, so the chances of me contracting it are small I think. We were supposed to get another jab when we were 13 but the government withdrew it so we didnt get one. On tje news it has said that there has been an outbreak of TB in Birchfield, which is in the same city as where we live.

For about a month my dad has been coughing, when it didnt go away I asked him to go to the doctors. He was just like oh whats the docotr gonna do. I was liek give you soemthing for it, diagnose you. But he didn;t go. He drives buses so he is constantly in contact with members of the public from all over the city. I'm kind a worried he's got TB.

I read an article ages ago in a newpaper and this girl had the symptoms of a cold only it just didn;t go away. She went to the doctor and it was TB.

What are the chances that he has TB, considering the recent outbreak? Also I'm 15, I had the vaccine at one day old, what are the chances that I could contract it?

  • When can I change my earring?

I had my cartilage pierced on the 22nd March last month, I was wondering when I could change the earring. At the moment I have a long barbell (1.2 x 9 mm) in, but its not swollen or anything I would really like to change it to a shorter barbell because it looks kinda weird because its so long.

Its healing well and hasn't bled at all since the day it was pierced, It has had a few bumps and stuff, the worst was when I got it caught in some goggles in chemistry, that killed, I stood there for like 5 minutes holding my ear. lol

My mom says I shoudl be able to change ti buy now, but then again she wanted me to go to Claires to get it pierced so she's not exactly informed on cartilage piercings XD

  • Industrial Piercing?

Well I'm not really worried about it. I'm planning to get it done on Thursday , but does it just feel like gettting two cartillage piercings? Or does it hurt more. Its in the same place so I assumed it would feel the same as a cartillage.

Also any tips to stop me feeling faint after getting it done. When I got my cartillage pierced I felt really faint and was kinda unsteady after sitting down for a whiel I was okay, but it was kinda unpleasant, so I would like to not be faint and be fully functional after my industrial.

  • Stuff to clean cartilage piercing?

I had it done on Saturday :) I've been using saline and tea tree oil like the piercer told me. I'm aware that many say not to use tea tree oil, but basically i was given a bottle of almond oil and 5% tea tree oil and told to use 2 drops a day and I have and doesn't seem to have done any harm.

Making saline everyday is kind of annoying and I remember someone saying you could buy it ready made or something. So is there anything I could buy instead having to make saline everyday?

Also mine doesn't hurt at all anymore, I got it done with a needle, when I cleaned it today a small scab came off but other than that it was fine no puss or discharge. According to a site I went on its supposed to hurt for the first week and the scabs are supposed to look like dried puss and be off-white. Well my scabs look like normal scabs like dried blood. And it hurt for the first day but it hasn't hurt since, is this normal?

  • Covering cartilage piercings?

I just got my cartilage done today, now I don;t have school for another week but when I do go back. In PE lessons they migth want me to take it out or cover it, that is if they notice it. Would be okay to take it out for like an hour once a week in school time or would heal up again. Also if I had to cover it with a plaster would that affect healing, would it trap germs or anything?

  • Poetry homework? Whats this parable called?

I'm annotating Tichbornes Elegy. And noticed that the third line "My crop of corn is but a field of tares," is similar to a parable from the Bible we did in RE last year.

The parable is about a man who plants good seeds and then someone plants tares or weeds there. Anyone know the name of it?
