  • What to do concerning unpaid Worker's Comp.?

About a year ago I cut myself on something rusty while working at my former job. After work, I went and got a Tetanus shot. I was told my insurance would cover it. About six months later I get a bill in the mail for that appointment. I talk to my former employer who tells me it's covered under Workman's Compensation and they would take care of it. For six months I've received a letter a month from that doctor's office telling me to pay that bill. Just about every time I get a letter I call up, email, or fax over the statement inquiring what the heck is going on.

Today I just received a letter that that bill has been sent to a collections agency.

    WTF?

    What to do now?

  • Do you agree with Obamafone?

Since Obama has taken office, the budget for welfare phones has gone from $822M to $2.2B. These phones are given out freely to whomever wants one. These phones can be turned around and sold with no recourse. You can go back and just get another one, too.

The phone companies are making a lot of money off of this program, as well, and it would appear one of the richest people in the world, Carlos Slim, from Mexico nonetheless (outsourcing?), receives a significant portion from this crony government program.

Here's a nice video on the issue. http://foxnewsinsider.com/2013/06/18/project-verit...

Waste in the government needs to be stopped, and getting rid of programs like this is a good way to start.

  • What would you rate as the best Internet connection test?

I know what I'm looking for in this answer. I'm just wondering how many people out there actually understand what's going on in a connection test so they can say "this is the best connection test around."

A heads up, if you link Speedtest.org, you're wrong.

If you understand it and know what to look for, please provide a link and a concise consolidation (double-negative FTW) for your reasoning behind you choice.

  • MySQL Constraints/Cascades: Will This Work?

    I have a table - threads - and another - posts.

Each thread is like a subject with the posts being replies. If a thread is deleted, all related posts need to be deleted.

All posts have an id and a thread_id field. Here's what I have, just wondering if this is correct.

    ALTER TABLE `posts`

    ADD CONSTRAINT `FK_threads`

    ADD FOREIGN KEY(`thread_id`)

    REFERENCES `threads`(`id`)

    ON DELETE CASCADE

    ON UPDATE CASCADE;

Does this need to be the other way around, or is it just completely wrong all together?

  • Explain Obama saying this, please?

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2013/05/03/...

"Most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States,"

    He sent them there!

"But at the same time, as I’ve said in the United States, I will continue to do everything in my power to pass common-sense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people. That can save lives here in Mexico and back home in the United States. It’s the right thing to do,"

Then why did he send them there???

  • What's wrong with the media?

I think I figured it out.

    Top jobs for psychopaths:

    1. CEO

    2. Lawyer *********

    3. Media (TV/radio) *********

    4. Salesperson

    5. Surgeon

    6. Journalist *********

    7. Police officer

    8. Clergyperson

    9. Chef

    10. Civil servant *********

It's also interesting civil servants show up on this list, but not surprising lawyers do, though.

  • Second Nvidia card not detected in Device Manager?

    Relevant Specs:

    Motherboard: GA-Z77X-UD5H

    VGA: EVGA GTX 670 x2

    PSU: SeaSonic X750 Gold 750W

So I've had one 670 for a while now, and it's worked great. I ordered a second 670 and a larger PSU. I hooked everything up, booted up, enabled SLI, and started running some tests - Heaven Benchmark 4.0.

It was going smoothly for about 5-10 minutes then my computer crashed. I rebooted and neither Device Manager nor the Nvidia Control Center would detect the new, second graphics card.

I took out my old, working graphics card and attempted to test the new one on the three different express card slots. It wouldn't work on any of them. I removed all the drivers with Driver Fusion, rebooted, reinstalled up-to-date drivers, but it still wouldn't work.

The fan works, but I know that's not an indicator that the card does. Is my card dead?

  • SSD Help (Windows 8)?

I have two SSDs, two Crucial M4s, that I want to strip in Windows 8 (made a RAID 0 volume).

In Windows 7, I never had the problems I'm about to describe.

Whether I create the RAID volume in BIOS or in Disk Management, Windows 8 always reads THREE Crucial M4s.

Any idea as to what is going on?

  • Intel Rapid Storage Technology SSD Help?

My Intel Rapid Storage Technology is giving me an error.

"Your system has detected one or more errors, and data may be lost.

Your system is configured to enable advanced SATA features for optimal power management and increased storage performance.

Refer to the details below for more information."

"The Windows write-cache buffer flushing policy can be enabled for all RAID array drives to ensure data integrity or disabled to improve data performance. Click the help etc..."

    "Cache Flushing

By default, Windows* write-cache buffer flushing is enabled to ensure data integrity. This means that the system will periodically instruct the storage driver to write all cached data to the main storage media. These periodic commands result in decreased overall system performance. You can choose to disable Windows write-cache buffer flushing to restore system performance, allowing the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology driver to handle all write-cache buffer flushing.

You can disable Windows write-cache buffer flushing to improve performance by completing the following steps:

    1. Click Start and then right-click Computer and select Manage.

    2. In Computer Management, click Device Manager, and then expand Disk drives.

    3. Right-click your disk device and select Properties.

    4. Click the Policies tab.

    5. Select the 'Turn off Windows write-cache buffer flushing on the device' check box.

    6. Click 'OK'."

Not really sure what the error is here. For my Intel Raid 0 Volume and on my two M4-CT128 M4SSD2 I have Write-caching enabled. One says M4-CT128 M4SSD2, while the other says M4-CT128 M4SSD2 SCSI Disk Device.

On the one that says M4-CT128 M4SSD2 SCSI Disk Device I have a Removal Policy and a Write-caching policy. The Removal policy is set to Better performance (default) and both have Write-caching enabled, while M4-CT128 M4SSD2 doesn't have a Removal Policy. Both have the Driver Version 6.2.9200.16384 dated 6/21/2006.

Under the Volumes tab for all (Intel Raid 0 Volume and both M4 devices) no information is shown. Under details, Hardware Ids for M4-CT128 M4SSD2 SCSI Disk Device it reads SCSI\DiskM4-CT128M4SSD2__________000F, while for the M4-CT128 M4SSD2 it reads SCSI\DiskATA_____M4-CT128M4SSD2__000F. They're the exact same type of SSD.

I'm guessing I need to change something in my BIOS for these devices? If so, what would that be?
