Statistics Problem (Compliments, Unions, Intersections, Mutually Exclusive)?

Roll a 2d6 (two fair six-sided dice) and add them together. What is the probability you get anything other than a 6 or a 7?

Update:

Think I may have figured it out.

The highest number you'll ever roll will be a 12. So the chances for 6 or 7 would be two possibilities out of that 12, or 2/12. So the possibility of rolling anything other than a 6 or a 7 would be 10/12.

Leo, I was looking at it the way you were, but that's not what my teacher is looking for, at least I don't think. I guess I'll find out come 5:30 when class starts.

Update 2:

You were totally right, Leo.

    6x6=36 possible outcomes.

    5 ways to get a total of six (1,5) (2,4) (3,3) (4,1) (5,1)

    6 ways to get a total of seven (1,6) (2,5) (3,4) (4,3) (5,2) (6,1)

    prob of a 6 or 7 is 11/36; so prob. of other outcome is 25/36
