  • Anyone know where I can find a World War 2 Battle flash?

    Hello,

Last year we had a sub come in to teach our history class, and he has a flash animation that showed the progression of all the Battles in World War 2. It was a map that had a color for all the powers, and where they occupied. A battle would commence, and the colors would shift depending on the outcome of the battle. It was very cool.

I wand to show my friend it, but I can't find it anywhere. Anyone know of the animation I'm talking about?

  • Is it just me or am I the only one who finds "Skinny Jeans" to be disgusting on everybody?

I don't know where this trend came from, but I find it totally disturbing. They jeans are not flattering, and it does not matter who wears them. I've seen them on every gender, every age, and every body type, and I've yet to find anyone wearing them attractive.

    Anyone with me?

  • When did it become cool to be so ugly?

When did it become cool to be so ugly?

I’m talking character. The inside type of ugly that gives a nasty taste in my mouth when I see it.

I would like to first apologize for any grammar or spelling errors you may find while reading this, but please bear with me.

Let me give you a short back-story. I live in Wasilla, and yes--The very town Mrs. Palin is from. I personally didn’t vote for her for Governor, but I have met her in person a few times. She seems to be a nice person, but I wouldn’t claim to know her. While I was googleing for a pair of overalls for school I typed in “Wasilla Work Clothes.” Little did I know I would come across a whole bunch of blogs about Sara Palin. I probably shouldn’t of clicked one of the links, but curiosity got a hold of me. The author of this blog was just plain ugly to her and to the population of Wasilla in general. At the end of her blog a large handful of people had commented on her input, and I was appalled by some of the things that had been anonymously said. Like I said earlier I live in Wasilla, and I don’t claim to know Mrs. Palin. I checked the author’s bio, and she is from Road Island. Thus, giving her absolutely no footing for the mean nasty and just plain uncalled for comments about Mrs. Palin and the City of Wasilla.

While this question isn’t geared to be political I would also like to also point out other examples of my concern:

I’ve found ugliness in many of the movies that have been released within the past few years. Movies like Saw and Heartbreak Kid for example. Saw is nothing more than a “Hey! Look how inventive we are at killing someone!” This leave me to wonder about the true mental state of the authors of the script, and any homicidal tendencies that my lay dormant in the psychological chambers of their minds. Then there is Heartbreak Kid. A movie about a man who gets married and tries to commit adultery on his honeymoon. We as an audience are to feel sorry for him, and rejoice when she wants to be with him months later… Yes, after he remarries some other foreign lady.

I’ve seen ugliness on children’s and teen’s movies and television. I know the whole completely reject the new kid theme has been around for as long as Kiss has which makes it something like a million years, but is it just me or are the pranks and the attitudes of these young people getting worse? The new hot is an inappropriately dressed stuck-up spoiled kid of any race acting like a complete ****. While our children are lead to believe that is how they should dress and act just like them.

I could go on forever, but I’m going to try and wrap up my thoughts because I would like to read your thoughts on my concern.

When did it become cool to be so ugly? When did looking down on someone, rude behavior, disrespectfulness, and contempt against everyone including friends, family, pets, religion, politics, heritage, age, gender, and culture become the new socially accepted “hip thing?”

I leave the floor open. Thank you for your time.
