  • Quick advice on poisoned dog!?

Please serious answers only, you can see I rarely ask questions myself (desperate here) and I try to give sincere answers, so hopefully I can get the same. : )

    Details

Woke up & 1 year old lab/pit mix was fine. Happy, trying to play with the cat fine on walk, ate breakfast ect. I got back from my finals at around 1pm, my bf (with her all day) said she just puked. No biggie, around 1:45 I try to take her outside and she is lethargic, wobbly on her legs (drunk like). Obviously sick, thinking she ate something, I have been trying to find what is it, but I have NO idea.

So I took her to the vet right away, she is there now getting IV and charcoal tabs to flush it out. Thing is, they close at 8pm tonight and don't have 24 hour care. Vet recommended (before giving her IV and not knowing what it is) that I transfer her to a overnight place after. I have already racked up almost $1,000 for her to give me that info and do the IV, & those charcoal tabs cost about $300 themselves! There goes any hope of vacation, never mind my monthly bills (can't compare to dog life of course, I'm okay with that).

So when I go back there in a few hours, I'm guessing she is still going to be out of it. BUT, do you think I should bring her to the overnight clinic, where an even bigger bill waits? I working on very little income here. Vet said they would continue same treatment and monitor. But she will be watched at home for the rest of the night anyways. Thoughts?

  • equations into matrices help?

Okay, I need to solve these equations using Cramer's Rule. Specifically I need to turn the equations into 4 different 3x3 matrices and then solve. I'm stuck on how to actually put the equations into matrices. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not looking for someone to solve them for me, just need some direction on how to put them into 3x3 matrix form:

    4w -2x+0y+7z=90

    0w+5x+1y+0z=60

    2w+0x+6y+2z=100

    3w-6x+8y+0z=50

    Thanks for your help!

  • Thoughts/opinions/info on Afghan response to Koran burning in FLA?

Hello, I would just like to know everyones opinion on this recent issue. Christans, Muslims, or any religion or non religion is welcomed comment, the more the better. I would just like a general response from all religious backgrounds, please share what your religious background is too (or lack there of), so we can see where your point is coming from.

Also, I have some questions regarding the church in Florida that did the burnings.

What denomination is that church? What was their goal in this case? Any other background info on the church too, i.e Have they done something common to this before? Or any other type of protesting they have done, on this issue or others?

I have my own thoughts on this matter, I just want to see what everyone else is feeling here.

  • Question about adopting a dog from animal shelter...?

So I've been really wanting to get a dog for the past 2 years. I've always had a dog in my life up until about 4 or so years ago, and I really miss having one! I'm aware of what it will take to own a dog ect. I would preferably like to adopt a dog from an animal shelter,

So my question is this: Would a shelter allow me to have a "trial" week with a dog, so I will be able to tell that it can make a good transition into my home? I have 2 indoor cats, who have never lived with a dog and I would like to make sure that they are able to adjust to each other. I live in a semi small space and I want to make sure that the dog's energy levels/size/ general personality is able to blend well with what we already have going on here.

So yes, do they usually allow such a trial period?
