  • Can I use Remington 700 replacement barrels/triggers in my remington 770 (7mm/08)? Gunsmiths only please!?

My Remington 770 has been a great rifle, but im wanting a switch of caliber bacause of expensive reloading components for my 7mm/08, and i just plain think it would be fun to actually build my own rifle from the ground up.

  • in a tactical situation, if i were to somehoe sugmerge my SKS rifle in water, would it still work?

i'm juts wondering this because i've seen Navy SEALs submerge their rifles on beach landings, and multiple dempnstrational videos on AR and other rifles that show them being submerged in water and still functioning. will this work with my SKS (norinco) and if not, can i alter my rifle to make it work?

  • Does the Benjamin Sheridan PCP (.177) have built in scope mounts or does it require mounts?

It looks different then the 397 or other pump Benjamin rifles. i know there is a difference because this one is a PCP and the others are multy pump Pneumatics. i was wondering if this rifle requires the scope mounts that clamp onto the barrel or if there are mounts that go on the receiver near the bolt.

  • For all Benjamin sheridan owners out there, what kind of accuracy can i expect from the model 397 .177 rifle?

i calculated the ballistics, and an 8 grain pellet doin' 800 fps at the muzzle will still have 3 times the needed power to kill blackbirds at 110 yards. i am wondering if a Benjamin Sheridan model 397 (pump and bolt action) will have the accuracy to effectively shoot that far. the reason im asking is that my neighbors and several other people in the neighboorhood are having blackbird troubles (getting into their feeders and stealing seed) and they're paying me 50 cents every bird i kill. this is good money considering there are thousands of em' out here. i need a good tool for this trade.(i am going to get an NCstar 2.5-10x rangefinding reticle scope as well, so i can holdover at long range with the mils). does anyone know if the benjamin sheridan will give me good enough groups to shoot that far at an average blackbird, even if it is a stretch. Thanks!

  • looking for a varmint rifle, relatively cheap, accurate, a good all arounder?

i have up to 600-700 dollars to spend on a varmint rifle. i was looking at Ruger's match rifle lineup, and they were really good but 1200 dollars is a little too far outside my range. im generally looking for a heavy barreled rifle, bolt action preferably, a long barrel (24" or more)...

if anybody knows where i can find a rifle close to those specs for that cost, please tell me!!!

the coyotes, they torture me!! (never closer than 500 yards)

  • im looking for a long distance rifle, something i can shoot 1400 yards or further with?

i was thinking something along the lines of the .30 diameter or higher, like .338 lapua, .50 BMG, .300 win. mag...

i need extreme accuracy though, and im looking for a rifle that i can shoot with that kind of precision with, or at least be able to modify it to shoot that accurately at said distances.

my price limit is 1400 dollars. does anyone know an accurate high caliber rifle i could use? i was thinking savage might make a .338 lapua, but i doubt im going to find a .50 BMG for that low of a price...

  • Will a remington model 770 take a remington 700 trigger?

i am improving the accuracy of my rem 770 7mm/08, but i am looking for a little better trigger since the factory trigger creeps, and sometimes flicking off the safety with a chambered round will fire the weapon. i'm just wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be with the action or if it could just need a new trigger. the gun will also fire the round of the weapon is cycled upside down, or cycled while tilted 60 or more degrees to the left or right, or cycled while pointed down more than 60 degrees. thanks for all suggestions.

  • i have 1400 dollars to spend, what are some good guns i should buy?

i'm thinking about gettting an AR 15 with a couple apare mags and a .22 conversion, and also a 7.62*25 semi-automatic tokarev pistol and 1,000 rounds of ammo... anybody know of better guns for the price, i need a handgun or carbine style rifle for defense, but must be cheap enough for plinking too! thanks.

  • Where can i get the cheapest AR 15?

im looking at an olympic arms "plinker plus a1 carbine" in .223, but i dont like the fact that i cant sight in without a front sight tool for elevation (because i like to adjust "on the fly" in the field for longer range targets instead of holding over.)

1-----is there a flat top AR out there for 500-600 bucks? and

2-----a good carry handle/front sight combo for aroung 40 bucks for the picatinny rails?

    -----i'm looking for a cheap AR 15 in .223-----

  • calling all mormons and christians.?

are mormonism and christianity the same? i dont think so. mormons believe that they can achieve godhood by doing good deeds and living a good holy life, but in the bible it says that god is the one and only and that nobody else could be a god but him. mormons think that god was physically conceived and has a wife, wheras christians think tht god was, is and always will be. also mormons believe differently about the holy trinity than christians do. ***please explain all you can!!!***

how do yuo think it would turn out if a couple married, one person christian and one mormon?

  • Does a bullet's seating depth in the cartridge effect accuracy? ?

My 7mm-08 is a great gun for accuracy with it's 120 grain hollow points, but im wanting to reload larger (170) grain bullets for elk, and they're a bit longer than my 120's. --------does the seating depth of the bullet effect accuracy? how can i tell that the bullet is seated at the right depth? will longer bullets allow less powder charge in the cartridge?-------

  • SKS bore and bullet measurements!!! NEED HELP!!!?

My SKS is a norinco, so its made in china. the bullets i usually use are wolf roundsw made in russia. i tried switching to reminton to get better accuracy but all i got was 1.5" at 80 yards or so. i never got an official group for the wolf rounds, but they seemed to shoot better... ive heard that remongton's rounds use the measurement 7.62*s9 as .308 thousandths of an inch, but my sks is made in china, and i think they use 7.62*39's measurement as .311 inches. does this mean that remington bullets are just clunking down the barrell and not making contact with the bore? are wolf rounds the right diameter since they're made in russia with different measurements?

  • online calculator says a .308 will drop 25.7 MOA over 1000 yards, do i need 12 moa bases to shoot that far?

im going to shoot 1000 plus yards with my .308. i can get very good groups at these distances, so i'm looking for a better scope and mount... im looking at a scope thats 8-32 power mildot illuminated reticle SWAT extreme scope. i looked u the ballistics and my gun should only drop 27.7 MOA at that distance, or 109 clicks in this scope when zeroed at 500 yds. do i need 12 moa scope bases, or more? or can i just use normal bases? im very confused because a buddy of mine shoots long distance, he said that the bullet will rise over 40 feet from line of sight over that distance, like a rainbow, i need to know everything about long range shooting... EXPERIENCED PEOPLE ONLY PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My marlin golden 39a rifle fires blanks (3/5) a lot with perfectly good ammo, is this a weak spring or what? ?

this gun is my fvorite gun, it was handed to me by my father, who got it from his father, and it is GREAT except for the fact that it's now shooting the better part of 80% of it's shells as blanks! and no matter what, i cant get it to fire those shells, and they're perfectly good! is this a problem with a weak or broken spring, or maybe a firing pin bent, or what?

i'm trying t oshoot longer distances at varmints with my rifle, but every time i try to zero the scope at a longer range, like 300 yards, it bottoms out with vertical adjustment before it's zeroed, how do i solvee this? do i put a small block in the back of the mount to raise the scope's back? this question is for experienced shooters ONLY!!
