I'm writing a fantasy novel and the foreign culture is being roughly based on our Guamanian culture. What are some traditions specific to that culture surrounding the marriage proposal and subsequent wedding?

I need to get healthy. The problem is if I try to go cold turkey off junk food I fail. People tell me 'apples are sweet!' No. If a sweet apple was good enough to make me forget chocolate I wouldn't be in this mess. I've tried the 'Health Desserts' by fiber one etc. and they just don't do it for me.

I need something I can snack on that's still sweet and bad-ish but not as bad as bag after bag of chocolate. I'm just looking for a first step transition.

So there was something wrong with the motherboard in my laptop which was why my screen was black even though the laptop turned on. It would have been $850 to fix it so I just got a new laptop for less than that. However, everything else in the laptop is perfectly fine and it's a good computer.

Is there any kind of site that buys this sort of thing for parts or to fix and sell? I'd like to try and get some of my money back.

So my laptop is most likely a goner. I’m still waiting to hear back on a final prognosis but that’ll be a couple days. Since the chances of saving her are slim to none I need to quickly look into a new one so that I can make the President’s Day sales. I need recommendations! (not a mac)

So basically I need nice video quality, high speed processing power and a fair bit of storage. And a lot of advice. I am very much a technotard.

I have a Lenovo ideapad and for some reason it won't turn on. It's fully charged, when I hit the power button it's clearly doing something. The lights are on but the screen is blank. I did the "did you try turning it off and on again" bit and I even took out the battery and wiped it down. Still nothing.

There's a great one online for $100 but I feel like that's cheating and I should make it. But I REALLY REALLY want it and my birthday is next week so I'll have some birthday money. I just need someone to decide for me. Quality or the "true cosplay mentality".

So I am a naturally indoor person and most of my skin is pale. I have a SPF lotion that I thought I was using evenly on my arms but now it looks like my hands are a bit lighter. I've got significant residual tan left over from a firearms camp last summer so I have serious farmers tan on my arms (especially my forearms). I keep seeing sites telling me to rub lemons on them and random stuff like that.

I need to know if any of it works. If not, what have you done that has worked.

I have a Windows 8 Lenovo (don't know if that's relevant to my problem). Previously when I created a listing on ebay I was sent to a page that allowed me to easily upload 1 photo and then it said the others would cost (there were orange graphics but that's all I can remember). Now when I try to make a listing there's a new tab that opens. I click 'Add Photo' which opens up my 'Photos' app and select the picture I want. But when I hit open it takes me back to the original page and the picture isn't there.

I have no idea why this is happening. Please help.

I just got a Lenovo s405 that didn't come with the CD option and need to install my Office Student 2003 Edition. How do I do that?

I found every other Lenovo product EXCEPT the s405 and I was wondering if there's an alternative that is shaped the same. I have the 14".

I'm looking to buy a new laptop (I bought my Vaio cs320j for $700 and to replace the motherboard would cost $1100). I'm definitely looking to go cheaper this time. While I hate Windows 8 with a passion, this was the laptop I liked best in two different stores. However, the reviews online don't like it very much.

I need to have as much info as possible so I don't end up regretting my next laptop purchase. It looks fine to me but if there are valid reasons for the poor reviews, I want to know.

*I am a writer and loved the way this keyboard felt. Also, graphics are important to me as I watch a lot of TV online. Other than that I just surf the net and other generic stuff. I won't demand much from my future laptop except a shorter buffering time.

I'm spraypainting diagonal squares and am using Frog Tape to give me that nice, clean edge. How long till I can put tape on the newly painted area and do the remaining squares?

I thought that as I did more research I could be able to find the main issues and highlight them. However, my mind will only come up with the conclusion that the whole civil war was one giant **** fest. The overall topic is religious conflict in the middle-east and I'm trying to figure out which side was muslim and which was christian...and then my head explodes.

Please help. Best answer to the person who can help me take this vastly complex event in history and concentrate it into a few bullet points in one small section of a tri-fold board.
