Even Jesus himself said that the old testament should be followed until the end of time and until everything is accomplished. And if you believe in the Second Coming of the Messiah then you should still be following the old testament laws BECAUSE jesus' says the scripture is to be follow until all his accomplished...

1) “For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV) Clearly the Old Testament is to be abided by until the end of human existence itself. None other then Jesus said so.

2) . "It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB)

3) Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets. He hasn’t the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament. "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

3b) "All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness..." (2 Timothy 3:16 NAB)

3c) "Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God." (2 Peter 20-21 NAB)

4) Jesus criticizes the Jews for not killing their disobedient children according to Old Testament law. Mark.7:9-13 "Whoever curses father or mother shall die" (Mark 7:10 NAB)

5) Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating. He defends himself by attacking them for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment: “He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.” (Matthew 15:4-7)

6) Jesus has a punishment even worse than his father concerning adultery: God said the act of adultery was punishable by death. Jesus says looking with lust is the same thing and you should gouge your eye out, better a part, than the whole. The punishment under Jesus is an eternity in Hell. (Matthew 5:27)

7) Peter says that all slaves should “be subject to [their] masters with all fear,” to the bad and cruel as well as the “good and gentle.” This is merely an echo of the same slavery commands in the Old Testament. 1 Peter 2:18

8) “Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law" (John7:19) and “For the law was given by Moses,..." (John 1:17).

9) “...the scripture cannot be broken.” --Jesus Christ, John 10:35

AND FOR THOSE THAT SAY THAT THEY DO FOLLOW THE OLD TESTAMENT DO YOU FOLLOW THESE LAWS???

1) prohibits men and women from wearing each other’s clothing (“The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God”--Deuteronomy 22:5)

2) Tattoos are NOT allowed: (“You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh on account of the dead or tattoo any marks upon you. I am the Lord”--Leviticus 19:28)

3) Eating pork is forbidden (Deuteronomy 14:8)

4) A raped, unengaged virgin must marry her rapist and they can never divorce (Deuteronomy 22:28)

5) ) Christians are not supposed to take their disputes before non-Christian courts or judges. (“If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints?” -- 1 Corinthians 6:1 NIV)

6) clearly prohibits women from being ministers or otherwise speaking in church (“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak”-- 1 Corinthians 14:34).

the concept of both heaven and hell didn’t even exist in the first two thirds of the Bible. It started becoming part of the Bible in the last third of it. While it is vague whether the concept of an afterlife with God was part of the Jewish scriptures, the concept of a hell for sinners was definitely not part of the Jewish tradition. Zoroastrianism is known by religious historians as the first religion to have a concept of heaven and hell.

Torah Observance

The Messiah will lead the Jewish people to full Torah observance. The Torah states that all mitzvot remain binding forever, and anyone coming to change the Torah is immediately identified as a false prophet. (Deut. 13:1-4)

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus contradicts the Torah and states that its commandments are no longer applicable. For example, John 9:14 records that Jesus made a paste in violation of Shabbat, which caused the Pharisees to say (verse 16), "He does not observe Shabbat!"

B. Descendent of David

Many prophetic passages speak of a descendant of King David who will rule Israel during the age of perfection. (Isaiah 11:1-9; Jeremiah 23:5-6, 30:7-10, 33:14-16; Ezekiel 34:11-31, 37:21-28; Hosea 3:4-5)

The Messiah must be descended on his father's side from King David (see Genesis 49:10, Isaiah 11:1, Jeremiah 23:5, 33:17; Ezekiel 34:23-24). According to the Christian claim that Jesus was the product of a virgin birth, he had no father ― and thus could not have possibly fulfilled the messianic requirement of being descended on his father's side from King David. (1)

According to Jewish sources, the Messiah will be born of human parents and possess normal physical attributes like other people. He will not be a demi-god, (2) nor will he possess supernatural qualities.

. Jesus Did Not Fulfill the Messianic Prophecies

What is the Messiah supposed to accomplish? One of the central themes of biblical prophecy is the promise of a future age of perfection characterized by universal peace and recognition of God. (Isaiah 2:1-4, 32:15-18, 60:15-18; Zephaniah 3:9; Hosea 2:20-22; Amos 9:13-15; Micah 4:1-4; Zechariah 8:23, 14:9; Jeremiah 31:33-34)

Specifically, the Bible says he will:

Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28).

Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6).

Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4)

Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: "God will be King over all the world ― on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9).

If an individual fails to fulfill even one of these conditions, then he cannot be the Messiah.

Because no one has ever fulfilled the Bible's description of this future King, Jews still await the coming of the Messiah. All past Messianic claimants, including Jesus of Nazareth, Bar Cochba and Shabbtai Tzvi have been rejected.

Christians counter that Jesus will fulfill these in the Second Coming. Jewish sources show that the Messiah will fulfill the prophecies outright; in the Bible no concept of a second coming exists.

simple question....

and i know many of you will say oh not everything is meant to be taken literally...i have another question.. WHO decided which parts are meant to be taken literally and which parts arent?! In no religious scriptures have god, abraham, moses, or jesus stated that you as christians have the right to ignore certain passages!!!

For thousands of years people believed in other religions and nothing happened...it seems a little iffy to me that god created the world, brought together adam and eve, and then disappeared. What makes religions 3-5 times older than christianity fantasy and folk tales but your bible with tales that are just as hard to believe real?

Christians are always amazed when they hear the stories of Cronos and Zeus, and Hercules and think wow did people REALLY believe this crap? But they worship a book that talks about a burning sage bush, man walking on water, and a savior coming back from the dead after three days..

and oh wait didnt a greek demi god who was born of a virgin mother and a god ALSO rise from the dead after three days?? his name Dionysus.

Ok...Christians!! i have a series of questions for you to consider. What makes you christians think that YOURS is the true religion if the Jews are said to be your Gods chosen people, and there Torah is your old testament. What makes your religion the right one??? Now christianity itself didnt become a religion until after jesus christ had died.. umm humans had religions thousands of years before this, why did the creator wait so long before he sent angels to earth? What makes the bible any different than the greek mythologys we call stories and make believe?! People worshiped those gods for almost 2000 years!!! Or what about the ancient egyptians?!

Why do Christians follow the teachings of a man that the Jews (gods chosen people) had discredited? How is that any different than most christian sects discrediting the founder of the mormon church who said he had spoken to god?

Islam, the muslim religion recognizes jesus as a great man and leader but say that the prohpet muhammad is the true teacher. Why didnt christians follow muhammad as well if they followed jesus?

How on earth can you tell me to believe that adam and eve were the first two people and that we are descendants of their 900 children?! But then of course christians say that that is just a story and not meant to be taken literally! I just wished for one second that Christians would take a step back and educate themselves on the history of religion and make up their minds on whether the bible is to be taken literally or not.

So i ask christians seriously, what sets the bible apart from greek and egyptian mythology?!

and if the bible is to be taken literally can i sell my daughter in to slavery, should i be put to death for working on the sabbath and if it is to be taken literally people with defects whether they be mentally or physically can not accept or receive the grace of god. DO not say that jesus abolished the old testament because jesus himself said he did not come to change or alter moses law but to fulfill it!

I need help...badly. I love this girl and i want to marry her so please do not suggest that i break up with her. That will not happen

Here's my problem. I took my girlfriend to a party where there was drinking. Naturally she wanted to make a good impression on my friends but she came across as too flirtatious; since her parents are strict she doesnt have alot of friends and doesnt realize when she comes across that way. Anyway, i left my girlfriend in the room with a few people while drunk because my brother had called me in to the other room. When i returned she was laying in bed with another guy....they werent cuddling at the time and werent even touching eachother. When she saw that i had entered the room she jumped up and grabbed me and told me that he had kissed her.

I was pissed and so naturally i tried to attack him but was stopped and removed from the party along with my girlfriend by my friends and brother. Me and my girlfriend went home, sobered up and talked about what happened. She said she was mad at me for leaving the room so she asked the guy to cuddle with her, he got in to the bed with her and spooned her and then kissed her. She said she pulled away and pushed him away.

My problem is that i do not know how to deal with this. i've been drinking heavily. I mean my girlfriend and i have talked about this for the past 3 days now non-stop, she has apologized and we both have cried. I cant kiss her without being pissed that someone kissed those soft beautiful lips...that someone else for 5 seconds experienced the sensation of kissing the woman i love. I also am having a hard time coping with her asking him to cuddle. Any advice on how to deal with this?

I talked to her yesterday but she was very unresponsive and stopped replying after like 30 minutes of texting.
