Taming curly hair between showers?
1 AnswerHair6 years agoWaitressing foot pain?
After only a few hours of being on my feet at work, my heels start to get "flattened". Eventually, it feels like I'm walking around on the bone. Even when I get home and put my feet up they're still flat and painful. What can I do about this?
2 AnswersOther - Health6 years agoBamboo pen stops responding?
So I got a bamboo tablet for Christmas and it works just fine, except that it stops responding to the pen whenever it's too close to my laptop. Why? Is my laptop causing some kind of interference?
1 AnswerOther - Hardware7 years agoWork friendly Halloween costume?
I just found out I'm working on Halloween night, but luckily we're allowed to dress up. My dilemma is, I work at Sonic as a carhop and it's really common that I get messy while at work, plus the various restrictions such as non slip shoes(heels are out), hair must be up and out of the way, nothing inappropriate, and it can't get in the way of working(no big skirts, masks, or gloves etc). Since Halloween is only a few days away I need something I can pull together quickly.
2 AnswersHalloween8 years agoHow can I keep raccoons away from my kittens?
I've recently gotten three kittens, and they unfortunately have to be outside cats. At night they sleep in a large dog crate, with a bed, and food and water in case someone doesn't wake up to let them out since some mornings I work. A few nights ago we were having problems with a raccoon coming up onto the porch every night and terrorizing them, reaching into the crate. We dealt with that on not to long ago, but tonight two more appeared, and they managed to MOVE the crate. I'm freaked out, because my boyfriend has told me he's had a kitten get killed by a raccoon. How can I keep these raccoons away from the kittens?
DISCLAIMER: I would much prefer they be indoor cats, but my boyfriends mom will not allow it as my boyfriend and his little brother are both very allergic. It is still a better option than someone else having them, if not for me they would be left outside without so much as a crate to protect them. I'm doing my very best to keep them safe and healthy despite them living outdoors. Please don't answer with "You should give them to someone who will keep them inside" or anything like that. People around here don't really have indoor cats.
6 AnswersOther - Home & Garden8 years agoMultiplayer online games?
My friends and I recently have been having trouble finding things to play together. We play league, we used to play minecraft. We need something to play in between league. Unfortunately I'm holding the whole group back because of my crummy laptop. I can't run most games, I even have trouble with league and minecraft sometimes.
What are some multiplayer games that don't require a lot that I could try?
3 AnswersVideo & Online Games8 years agoIngrown toenail pain, urgent?
I've had an ingrown toenail for a couple days now but I lost my nippers which I use to deal with it before it gets too bad. I figured I could leave it and deal with it later, but it's been getting worse. Then just now I was out in the pool and I stubbed my toe against the stairs and the pain was mind numbing. I waited for the pain to go away but it just dulled a bit. Now my toe is in pain no matter what, and I can't walk on it. I have work tomorrow and I'll have to be on my feet all morning, what can I do to fix it immediately?
1 AnswerOther - General Health Care8 years agoMy dog keeps barking in the middle of the night?
For the past five or six nights, every night without fail my oldest dog will start barking. It starts a couple hours after the dogs get put up for the night(I know, I hate having to crate them but they fight when we aren't looking). It's never been a problem and we've been crating them for two or three years now. At first I thought it was because the other two were let out of their crate at night because their crates got dirty and we took them out to wash, but now they're being crated at night and he still barks. Then I thought he needed to potty, so I'd let him out, but he would just mark a bush and run right back in. Every time I go to check on him, the other two are peacefully sleeping and he's in his crate all wiggly and excited like he wants to play. I don't know why he suddenly decided playtime was in the middle of the night.
The only thing that's new is we started giving him nightly arthritis medicine. Could that be causing it? He used to get a shot for arthritis every few months, maybe the new medicine is working better and making him more spry?
But I still don't know why he gets playful in the middle of the night when the lights are off and everything is quiet.
5 AnswersDogs8 years agomy dog makes squirting noises when he pees?
This had been happening a while ago but then it seemed to go away. My older chihuahua/whippet mix makes weird squirting noises when he pees. He's otherwise fine, I haven't noticed any other problems with him. It's just really strange, and I was wondering what might be causing it
2 AnswersDogs8 years agoMy dog is suddenly acting up?
Recently my dog Rocky has been refusing to use the bathroom outside, and going inside instead, even though he usually is pretty good about going outside. Earlier, when my dad was cleaning up one of his 'accidents', my dog bit him and drew a lot of blood. He's not normally a biter, sometimes he growls but I always thought that was because he's scared of people. He was abused as a puppy before I adopted him, the pound said they thought he might be too aggressive to adopt. But it's never been a problem before, he's always acted too scared of people to hurt anyone. Like I said he does growl if you try to pick him up sometimes, but that's only been in situations where he feels threatened.
My mom thinks he's protesting because our younger male dog William is reaching maturity and happens to be bigger. Rocky has picked a couple of fights with William recently so it might be true.
I think he's about 9, he's getting pretty old. He's a chihuahua whippet mix, are they known for being bad in old age?
How do I make him behave himself?
2 AnswersDogs9 years agoremoving a stuck shower head?
My complex decided they were going to install lo-flow shower heads, but they fact is they're completely useless and I want to put my old shower head back on, which I hid while the workman was here.
This was just installed, so I know it's not stuck with rust or anything, but I just can't get it off! I guess it's screwed on too tight for my girly little arms to get it back off. Is there any way to loosen it so I can get it off?
3 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)9 years agoHow to keep my dogs nails short?
My dog hates getting his nails trimmed. He won't even let me file them. When I try to touch his paw he squirms out of my hold and runs away. If I try to hold him tighter he just squirms more violently, sometimes he even nips and snarls at me. But his nails are ridiculously long at this point, his toes sort of bend sideways. He doesn't seem to have a problem with it, he walks just fine etc. but I'm worried they'll start to hurt him in the future. Is there any way I can keep his nails shorter without having to go near his paws? Will walking him often on concrete help wear them down? I'm afraid to take him to a groomers because he gets so violent when people try to touch his paws.
Thanks in advance
6 AnswersDogs9 years agoIs it legal to date your child if you disown them?
I was talking to my friend and out of nowhere she randomly asked this. She thinks it would be legal because legally it's no longer your child but I say it's illegal because genetically they're still your child. I looked online but there wasn't really anything on this(most likely because it's an extremely random and just generally stupid question) does anyone know the answer?
Before anyone asks, neither of us are interested in dating our children or one of our parents, we're just really curious now.
9 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agoI just moved, where can I meet people my age?
I just moved to Birmingham and I'm looking for things to do and places to meet people my age. Unfortunately everything I've found so far I'm either to old, or not old enough! Can anyone recommend a club(not that kind of club, like drama club or a fan club) or some late teen-young adult events that I could go to that I don't have to be 18 or 21 for? Even a place to volunteer that other teens volunteer at as well.
4 AnswersFriends9 years agoDraw sparkles for a fashion sketch?
I'm designing a purse and it's going to be sparkly, I'm trying to sketch the design and I had no idea how to convey the sparkle on paper. How are sparkles usually illustrated in fashion sketches? I have to submit this so I can't just leave it blank.
4 AnswersFashion & Accessories9 years agoCould my hair be too heavy?
It's an odd question I know.
I have really long, really thick hair. Lately, and for a while actually, I get headaches often, when I stand up I get dizzy and lightheaded, and it's hard sometimes to lift my head if it's leaning against something. I wonder if maybe it's because my hair is just too heavy for me. I don't want to cut it unless really necessary, which is why I ask.
4 AnswersHair9 years agoLG Envy Touch call sound not working?
The phone still rings, and makes the text alert sound, but when someone calls you have to open it and have it on speakerphone otherwise you can't hear them. They can still hear you when it's closed, but like I said, you can't hear them. I have no idea whats wrong. As far as I know it hasn't been dropped or damaged in any way(it's my dads phone), but he does tend to pocket dial. I think he pocket changed some settings, and now I can't figure out how to get it back.
How do I fix it? Or is the stupid thing broken?
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans10 years agoHow much should child support be?
My dad is a professor at a distinguished college. He makes a fair amount. When they split my mom was working at a day care. They haven't gone to court, so my dad only pays about 500$ a month. He recently tried to take it down to 400$. This doesn't seem right. I've known other kids whose parents are divorced and their dads pay more, and they don't make as much as my dad.
Other than that he pays my cell phone(barely used), my health insurance, and he paid for my braces.
Does this sound right? I don't know very much about this.
6 AnswersMarriage & Divorce10 years agoWhat should I wear to a homecoming dance?
So...my friend just called and asked if I wanted to go to homecoming at her school(I'm homeschooled). I'm just visiting my dad and the only dresses I have in my closet are both long. It's tomorrow night. Should I wear one of the long ones or should I try to go shopping? I have to go shopping anyway I don't have any shoes. Should I just not go? Will it be awkward since I don't go to school there? I dunno what to do...
5 AnswersFashion & Accessories10 years agoeyebrows; thin or thick?
Ok, so I naturally have really thick eyebrows. As I've gotten older I've started tweezing them. My dad won't shut up about it, saying they're too thin, while my guy friends are telling me they should be thinner! So what do you think?
