2 AnswersDental8 years agoGrinding in knees, painless?
First of all, Im almost 18, very healthy and fit, I've been trampolining most of my life and training in parkour for just under a year, I've got quite a powerful jump so I focus on that alot when training.
About 1 month ago I noticed a grinding sound in my knees when bending them beyond 90 degrees, this is painless. I got my knee's X-rayed and checked up by a specialist but they said I was fine even after bending my legs and examining my knees in many different ways. Im still not too convinced as the grinding sound is obvious in a quiet room, I've been strengthening most of the muscles in my leg to take the pressure of my Knee's when training. Sometimes I get a slight discomfort in my knee's which lasts no longer than a minute or so, but this isn't pain, just more like that feeling when you need to pop a joint.
I've been taking omega 3 supplements for about a year.
Is the Doctor right and am I just worrying over something silly?
Is grinding in the knees common and harmless?
I've read up that it could be damaged cartilage which is worrying me :(
James
I've also noticed that my knees dont grind when supporting my own weight with my hands or when Im hanging on a bar ect, they only 'grind' when I've got the weight of my body (80kg) behind the bend

1 AnswerPain & Pain Management9 years agoGrinding sound in knees? high impact sport?
I have been training in parkour for about 1 year now (im almost 18), before this I freestyle trampolined for about 5-6 years. ( These are some clips of some of the tricks I do - http://youtu.be/e0FqSJ24HCs ,Im the tall one) My last heavy training session was a few days ago, after this my legs ached as usual but this normally goes within half a day. But its been 2-3 days and my legs still ached a little (despite eating lots of protein) mainly just above the knee on the lower front of my calf. Every time I bend my knees past 110° I can here a quiet grinding/creaking sound on both of my knees; possibly the cartilage, It aches a little when doing this but I get no pain. Of the research I have done so far I am suspecting it to either be 'Chondromalacia Patellae' (runners knee) or 'Patella tendonitis' (Jumpers knee) or.. I could just be overreacting. I take 3000mg of fish oil everyday for my joints and consider myself to be very healthy overall. What can and cant I do? exercises? I dont normally rush into any exercise; I usually build up to a jump or trick to warm up.
Thank you
James

3 AnswersSkin Conditions9 years agoVein/artery in forearm hurting? headache?
cephalic vein or radial artery (I think) just before the wrist on the back of my arm appears to swollen and hurts when touched; feels slightly uncomfortable if i move my wrist. I woke up with this randomly. Im 17 years old, have no known health problems. Im extremely healthy and exercises in parkour on a regular basis so I often push myself too far and stretch muscles, damage nerves etc (which this could be) I have bad blood circulation and natural my arms are veiny so the swollen vein doesn't stand out much. Also when I move my head suddenly I get a headache for however long im moving my head for. Any ideas of what this is?

1 AnswerPhysics10 years agoMy ankle is still hurts? - parkour?
about 3 months ago now I damaged my ankle and tendons up to my knee attempting a wall flip, It was a very bad sprain and im surprised I didn't break anything with it, Im not sure exactly where the strain is but when I fell all my weight (80kg) was placed on the top of my foot (instep) as I was rotating, so basically my foot got stretched out straight in line with my leg (vertically, This is very unnatural for me as im not very flexible) when this happend I felt most of my tendons, knee down tearing. It has been 3 months and my ankle is like how it was before but my tendons feel really tight and If I try to crouch or straighten my leg I get a sharp pain in my leg. How can I make it better? what exercises should I be doing, do I need to get it check up again? thankyou (:

16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDoes matter exist? Scientists please?
I was thinking recently, and this questions came to mind. If a atom which is made of electrons, protons and neutrons, only around 0.000001% of this atom is the 'electrons, protons and neutrons' so the other 99.999999% of this atom is nothing or space. creepy. But then these 'electrons, protons and neutrons' are made up of even smaller particles (quark's and shiz) so for example a Proton is made of these smaller particles meaning the Proton is much like the atom as 0.00001% of the Proton are the particles which make it and the rest is the space between the particles. This idea could keep going on forever as you can keep halving this so called matter; so wouldn't this leave you with that either matter is infinitely small of it doesn't exist at all; 0.000(recurring) 1% matter. I hope this makes sense, bit of a mind F***
The atom is a bit like a endless fractal, These numbers are just guesses but even if an atom was 99.99% matter it will still be the same story
