  • Should I get new bearings for my 2010 Chevy Cobolt?

I bought new tires for my Cobolt. The tires came with a free alignment inspection. Afterwards the cashier informed me that my alignment was fine but my front bearings were tight/bad. He said that they need to be replaced. He told me it was urgent. That if a bearing fails a wheel could fall off.

On the drive home I could tell that my steering was more sensitive. Could that just be due to the new tires. Or could they have done anything to improve my alingment/bearings without replacing them?

    1. Do you think he is trying to sell me?

    2. Is $416 a good price for new bearings and the labor?

    3. Is this a serious issue?

I know its hard to know whats wrong with my car without being able to physically look at it. Any input is appreciated.

  • Do deer whistles actually repel deer?

I've seen these whistles you attach to your car that whistle as your drive. They're advertised to omit a sound that will repel deer as your drive.

    1. Do they actually work?

    2. Do they affect dogs in the area?

  • What are the chances a card is drawn?

So there is a 60 card deck. one card is in there 4 times. So its 4 to 56 split. Now you draw 7 cards. Then reshuffle all the card. Draw 7 more cards again. Then reshuffle everything back into the deck. Then draw 6 cards.

What are the odds that you drew the card at least one time?

  • Where is good place to buy chicken wire?

I bought some chicken wire at Lowes back in the spring it was 4 feet tall. For a roll of 50 feet it was 40 dollars. That's 80 cents per linear foot. Seems really expensive. Any idea for a place to buy chicken wire in bulk for a cheaper rate?

  • Is Lance Stephenson going to Charlotte that big a deal for Indiana?

I know Lance is a great SG in a league where there aren't a lot of great SGs. But wasn't Lance one of the biggest reasons for all the locker room drama? Wasn't he known for being a ball hog at the wrong times?

If Indiana could have kept Lance would they have really been that well off with him compared to without?

In my opinion Indy needs to go out and get some knock down shooters like Mike Miller or Ray Allen. They never seemed to shoot the 3 consistently. Sure George or Lance would get hot here and there from down town but not every night. They need a guy or two to spread the floor and give Hibbert and WEst some room to operate in the paint. That would also open up some lanes for George to cut and drive.

  • Why doesn't Love just wait out his contract and go where ever he want?

Why not just play one more year in Minny then sign w/e he wants.

Assuming he wants to play with Lebron and Cleveland won't trade Wiggins, why not wait another year and then go sign with Cleveland and play with Love, James, Irving, and Wiggins. Assuming they have the cap space to keep all of them happy.

  • If you trim your cats nails, will they scratch furniture/posts less?

Since indoor cats don't get the opportunity to climb trees their nails/claws grow long right? So they need to wear them down by scratching stuff.

So if I trim their nails will they feel less need to do this.

FYI: I've trimmed their nails multiple times and they dont mind it. Sometimes they even seem to enjoy it... having their paws massaged and all.

Before you criticize me for cutting their nails know this; I took on two stray kittens who would not have a home other wise. I did not declaw them and have bought them lots of nice cat towers and furniture.

  • How long does it take to see Mt. Rushmore?

My gf and I are heading to Yellow Stone for vacation. Mt Rushmore is on the way since we'll be taking I-90 all the way across South Dakota.

How much extra travel time should I add to our trip to see Mount Rushmore? You know to park and walk to it. Do we need to be part of a tour group?

  • Tips for visiting Yellowstone?

My gf and I want to visit Yellowstone national park this summer. I found tour packages online that have you stay at multiple lodges and see different areas of the park. Its kind of expensive so I was wondering if these packages are worth it or should we do our own thing?

We mostly want to hike and check out some of natural wonders. She really wants to swim in some lake that gets runoff from one of the springs/geysers. I'd also like to pay for one of those guided horseback rides through the park (she loves horses).

What are good affordable places to stay?

What are some activities we can do on our own?

  • Do you approve of this no tipping policy at this restaurant?

    http://b1017online.com/this-kentucky-restaurants-n...

Please read the article before posting an answer.

I think it is great. I have been saying this for years. Raise prices and pay the servers better. Does sticking me with an extra cost at the end of the bill. It is deceiving.

Example: Oh boy applbee's 2 for 20. Ill spend 20 dollars on dinner. Go out to eat with GF and order it. Bill comes for 20 dollars plus tax (8%) bringing the final price up to $21.60. Then say you tip 15% of that and your final bill is $24.84. Or you are like me and always tip on a minimum of 5 dollars when dining for 2(unless 15-20% is higher). So your bill comes out to $26.60. So much for 2 for 20 you just spent an extra 33% on dinner.

Servers shouldn't need the motivation of tips to do a good job. They should be motivated to do a good job for the sake of keeping their job. And its up to management to over see this. They can ask customers or monitor how the wait staff does. Put of a comment box or use the internet. People love leaving reviews on the internet.

  • Best place to buy a Cat Tower?

Hey fellow cat folks of Yahoo,

I'm looking to buy a second cat tower for my cats. I have two 9 month old kittens. I originally bought them a 100 dollar cat tower from petco without doing much shopping. It was ok deal. It was on "sale" but they have tore it down pretty bad as they are very active cats. I want to get them a new one for upstairs and was wondering if anyone had any good websites or tips for buying.

    Im looking to spend $100-200

  • Does it bother you that Rick Ross is fake?

If you're a fan of Rick Ross, do you care that he stole his persona from the real Rick Ross aka Freeway Ricky. Freeway Ricky was a drug lord in the 90s who sentenced to life in prison. Rick Ross thought he would never get out of prison and stole everything about him including his beard. Freeway Ricky got out of prison and is now suing Rick Ross. I mean the guy is a complete fake. Most rappers are but with this guy there is no denying it. If you're a fan do you still like him?

Personally I never listened to Rick Ross and don't listen to much rap. But I found this interesting just wanted to hear other peopl'es thought and opinions on it.

  • If you freeze apples, do they stay as good?

I like to buy bags of apples but find it hard to eat an entire bag in a week. If I froze half the bag and thawed it a week later would the apples get soggy or gross?

  • Good bars in the Plaza at Kansas City?

What are some nice quiet bars in the Plaza (KC)?

Somewhere four people can sit at a table and have a conversation on a Saturday night while enjoying some drinks.

    No dancing or loud music.

  • What has been the most effective deer repellent for you?

Gardeners, what has been the most effective deer repellent for you?

    Hot sauce?

    Urine?

    Hair?

    Soap?

    Egg water solution?

    Hanging CDs?

    Aluminum Foil?

    Planting Lavender?

    Hanging bells/wind chimes?

I already have some fences around some baby apple trees. The fences are constructed of 4 feet high chicken wire. I really wanted to use 5 foot hgih concrete reinforcement wire but everyone told me the chicken wire was enough (i'm really regretting it now the fences are built). It seems like larger deer will still be able to reach the out branches once the start budding.

The guy at Lowes was confident that the chicken wire fences would be enough. He said it was all he ever used for 12+ years along with some Zest soap. He claimed that the Zest a lone was enough to deter deer at his house and that he has a herd of 10+ crossing through everyday. He said that as long as they can't get to the trunk they wont eat the leaves. That they like to start by sniffing the bark of the trunk and nibbling at it before heading to the leaves.

Anyway any ideas on more security for my trees?

  • Does anyone else think Birdman looks heavier?

Maybe it's just the beard but it seems like Andersen is heavier than last year. His face just looks more filled out. Almost like he looks a bit fatter. He still seems to get off the floor easily so maybe it's just an illusion.

  • How long will food stay good in the fridge?

I have been traveling for work living out of a hotel all week long and normally driving home on the weekends. This trend may continue anywhere from June to September. I have been cooking at home on the weekends and transport individually packed meals to my hotel. I have a fridge and microwave in my hotel.

Anyway I don't wish to eat out for the majority of my meals. A couple times a week is fine but I'd like to eat the majority of my meals that I have cooked/prepared for health/financial related reasons.

I have been making things like stir fry, chilis, and curries lately. Then I store individual meals in glass tupperwares. So currently I cook something as early as Saturday and eat it on Friday (6 days).

I was wondering if I could push this to two or three weeks? Cook two weeks worth of meals and store them for 13 to 20 days before they would spoil. I assume this will depend on the food.

Id rather not freeze anything but I am willing to try this if it doesn't make my food taste too much worse. I'm also willing to add more salt to the recipes if it will make a difference.

Any tips or ideas welcome :)

  • Libertarians, Do you trust Rand Paul?

If you are completely against liberty and freedom then this doesn't concern you. I'm looking for Libertarian's opinions on the subject. So if you are going to come in and bash free markets and liberty then just move along.

I can't find a lot of info on where he stands on certain issues. His father Ron had a nice website that explained how Ron felt on issues. Ron also has multiple books that express his opinions and there is tons of footage of Ron on youtube and he is very consistent.

The only footage I find of Rand is usually about minor topics the major media is always debating. like bickering over the ACA. They rarely talk about Monetary Policy, the Drug War, or our policing the world.

So is Rand a real libertarian or is he using the party to expand the Republican Party? Is he keeping his ideas suppressed so that he can actually get elected and not titled as a radical like his father.

Any good websites on Rand's stances?

  • Are these areas of KC, MO safe?

Main Street between 43rd Street and 50th Street; is this area safe?

How safe would you label it?

Safe enough to walk alone in the day?

Safe enough to walk alone at night?

Safe enough to leave your car unlocked?

Never been to KS, Mo and I'm very curious.

Is Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard ghetto? Consider the segment starting at I-70 going to Main Street.

I hear to avoid Trooster Ave and Cleveland Ave but this road intersects both of them. Is it safe? Safe enough just to drive the mention segement.

Im posting this in Dining Out because no one answers my questions in Travel.
