Introduction:

For decades, there has been evidence around the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet as the diet was seen as a key to longevity. More recently, the Greek Island of Ikaria has gained quite a bit of media attention as their inhabitants are supposedly living extraordinary longer lives, as it is being referred to as a “Blue Zone.” It is believed that the dietary habits of the islanders play a prominent role in their life expectancy and therefore, Americans have become more interested into Ikaria’s secrets for longevity. As it appears that the inhabitants live more relaxed and happier lives, research suggests that their diets are also a contributing factor.

What you might want to focus on is media representations and American interest in the phenomenon.

We've seen situations where supposedly healthy diets (i.e., the Mediterranean diet) have been adapted to the US with fairly disastrous consequences (i.e., an explosion in diabetes via the food pyramid). Could the Ikarian diet have similar results?

Are some parts of the diet/lifestyle going to get overemphasized and others under-emphasized? What might be some of the reasons for this?

Could American consumer culture be playing a role in the way we approach "diets"? Could this run counter to many of the other features of the Ikarian lifestyle?

Help me find some clothes for the summer?

I'm a 17 year old guy. I don't really wear Hollister, Aeropostale, etc. I'm open-minded about different types of clothes but I usually wear H&M, Urban Outfitters, and Express. Can anyone help me find some cool shirts, shoes, and accessories for this summer? I'll be going on a cruise and I'll be down in Miami a lot at the beach so I'm also looking for some things to wear there. Links to clothing items would be greatly appreciated.

How can I return this Burberry shirt?

I have a brand new Burberry polo shirt that I had received as a Christmas gift. I can't find the same shirt on the Burberry website but it still has the tags on it and everything. The price was rubbed off on the tag but other than that, the shirt is in perfect condition. It was purchased over 30 days ago and I don't have the receipt because it was a gift. I haven't worn the shirt either and I'm returning it because it's way too big on me. I was wondering if I would be able to return it and get store credit.

Last night, I was at a concert in a mosh pit. A fat kid decided to jump off of the stage and tried to crowd surf. He landed right on top of me. I tried to hold my self up to keep myself from falling and I think I threw out my back or something. My back started hurting after that, and it still hurts. I'm turning fifteen. I don't really want to have a party, I just want to get together with a few friends (5 or 6) and go do something fun. At first I was thinking about going out to eat and walk around downtown but that just seemed boring. Things like laser tag and paint balling would be fun but I've already done stuff like that before.
