How much would a local mechanic or a dealer charge? I would imagine that the local guy would be cheaper.

I just switched form Satellite to digital cable. The problem is that some channels will be very quiet. While others are extremely loud. I've already tried to go through all of the settings on the digital box, and had a tech here to look at it. Neither really helped. I've also tried to use the digital output. But, then I lose the volume on the analog channels completely. Is there anything that I can do to get the volume of each channel close to each other?

Okay... I know I'm late to the party. But, I'm considering getting an iPhone. The price of the 3G model is too good to beat. I might get the 3G S. It's only $50 dollars more for the 16 GB version.

Right now I have a Blackberry Curve through Alltel. The plan I'm on now was supposed to be $129 a month. The bill is usually $170 - 180, without overages. 40 - 50 dollars a month in extra crap that I don't need and can't get rid of.

Does anyone have an iphone plan similar to this one? 900 minutes, 1500 text messages, and, of course, data. According to the AT&T website, it should be about $106 per month. If you do, what is the actual bill? Are the 1500 texts good for anyone? Or, if someone using another service provider texts me, will it cost me money?

I know in the GM cars that I owned there was a sticker in the glove box that would tell you the option code that were installed on the vehicle. Is there something like this for a 2000 Ford Ranger?

Does anyone know the OEM part number for an alternator for a 2000 ford ranger with a 3.0 liter V6. Is it the same as the 4.0 liter?

I'm looking for a high output replacement. If anyone has any info for an alternator that's 200+ amps, that will work for me, please let me know.

I have kind of an odd problem... Every time that I try to copy and past a link into yahoo messenger, it looks and clicks right to me. But, when I send it to someone, it replaces the web address with an I.P. number and the link won't work. At the same time, when someone sends one to me, it's fine.

Is there any way that I can fix this?

I keep getting an error message when I open certain programs. Can anyone tell me how to fix this.

A friend of mine wants me to put a couple 12s in his saturn ion hybrid. I'm pretty sure it is only going to be about 500 watts rms. I'm just wondering if the extra amp draw will cause any problems.

I'm looking for a new laptop. To get over the 3.2gb memory hump, I'm looking at a laptop with Vista home premium (64 bit). The only problem is, I use a lot of software that is only available for a 32 bit operating system. I've been told that the 64 bit versions of Vista have a 32 bit emulator built in. But, are there any issues with running the 32 bit software? Will it function correctly?

I've been thinking about putting together a decent home theater set up. Right now I have one of those pioneer "home theater in a box" set ups. It's OK. But, I want a little better.

I've already upgraded the DVD player to a Blu ray player. I'm probably going to keep the receiver and the sub amp for the new set up.

I want to use some car audio speakers I have laying around, from a previous car audio build, for my home theater. I've got a couple boston acoustics component sets I want to use for the front, center and surround speakers. I was thinking about using 2, 6.5 inch sets for the front, a 5.25 inch set for the surround and a another 5.25 set for the center. I've also got a JL audio 10w1-4 that I want to use for the sub.

I'm pretty sure that it will work well. The wattages will match up pretty well and the enclosures will be built to the t/s parameters of the speakers. I really just want to know if there are any real differences between home and car audio speakers.

It just seems like the hubs aren't locking. I hear the transfer case motor engage. But, No four wheel....

I know I could just buy the repair manual from autozone. But, I'm cheap and I only want to fix the 4 wheel drive in my winter beater. After all it's not much of a winter beater without it.

I'm looking to buy a jeep patriot this weekend. But, I don't like the rims. It's the base model with the ugly steel wheels. i don't think it has the tire pressure monitor like the jeep compass.

I looked at a few sites trying to find aftermarket rims. But, no one seems to carry rims for the patriot. Can anyone tell me the specifics for the rim size? I need to know the offset and backspacing.

I'm thinking about something in the 17X7 or 18X7 range.

A few minutes ago my display took a crap and I had to reboot my computer. When I did it wouldn't boot from the hard drive. I tried to change the settings to make it boot from the HDD first. But, That didn't help. It did this once before. Directly after the last windows update I got. When it happened before, I had to reinstall windows.

Is there a way that I can get it to work without having to reinstall windows?

I have an AVI file that I would like to burn to cd. I tried once already using CDBurnerXP. But, it wouldn't work in my DVD player. I also tried converting it to MPG. But, then it was too large for a CD. Any help?

I have read on here that I can use the 8x cards. But, I don't know about the DDR2 memory. All the cards I've been looking at are AGP/ 512MB / DDR2.
