  • Can I be sued because of shared insurance policy?

My father-in-law live with us for now. I.e, we have the same address. There is a car under his name. That car, along with my car, are covered by the same insurance, with both of us covered. If he drives his own car and causes a huge damage, too much to be covered by the insurance, can the victim sue me because we share the living address or the same auto insurance?

  • How to sue a business with a Fascism poster?

There is a Singapore Old Town restaurant in Dublin, owned by a woman from Hong Kong. In the restaurant there is a big poster about a medicine of gonorrhea. That poster was drawn in the part of China occupied by Japanese Fascists during the WWII thus has a slogan "Japan and China help each other and build the new Asia". This is equivalent to a Vichy France poster saying "Germany and France build the new Europe." I know that to hung a Nazi poster must be illegal, so a Japanese Fascism poster shall be punished to. Let alone how gonorrhea is disgusting in a restaurant. I talked with the owner, but she just ignored me. How can I sue her?

  • Can I paint with primer only without paint?

I want to paint a dark green room white. I am going to use a high hiding primer. But, as the primer is white already, if I am OK with pure white walls, do I have to use paint over it? Does the paint gives some extra protection? Thanks.

  • What is the difference between a wood fireplace with a gas starter and a gas fireplace?

I am purchasing a house. It has a fireplace with chimney. Super clean, never used. There is a horizontal metal pipe with holes on it, connected a gas pipe controlled by a round control on the wall.

Someone told me that this is a gas fireplace. And I shall put some gas logs (faked logs) on it.

Someone told me that this is a wood fireplace, and that pipe is a starter/burner, whatever name it is, and is only used to start the fire. I shall put real wood logs on the rack.

How can I tell which story is correct?

    Thanks!

  • Why the sunny side of my wood fence turned black?

I have a wood fence, stained a few years ago. Now the side facing south, i.e. the side exposed to sunshine most, has turned black, while all the other sides are fine. I thought it was mildew, but it's the least humid section of my fence. So what was the cause? Sun-burn on stain? Any treatment? Thanks.

  • Similac vs Enfamil, which one makes a baby fatter?

My wife and I are discussing whether we should switch the formula, as our baby just get out of the weight chart: he weights about 20.5 lbs at 4 months and 3 weeks.

My wife thinks that one of those two has a reputation of making babies fat. (I am not saying which one.) Is that true? I know different babies/parents have their own choices, but from the aspect of making baby fat, they are the same, as they have the same calorie per unit.

So, do any of you know or think that one makes babies fatter than another? Thanks for sharing your ideas.

  • Suggestion on rent collection agent?

I own a rental property in Texas. The previous tenants ran away without paying the last month's payment. I want to hire a rent collector, so that even if I cannot get the money, I will put something bad on their rental and credit record, so that it would be more difficult for them to do this in the next time.

Has anybody here successfully done this kind of thing before? Which collector did you hire? I don't want to pay a fee to get that service, but I don't mind that a big portion of what's collected would go to the collector.

  • Mexican labors at Home Depot in San Francisco Bay Area?

I live in San Mateo, and I have not seen any Mexican labors in front of Home Depot stores I had been to. Does anybody know at which Home Depot in the peninsula I can find some of them? And how much usually do they charge per hour, to do things like move boxes around? Thanks.

  • Why some kids say Chinese are mean?

I'm in the US. It's not a common case, but it did happen to me for multiple times, that my Chinese friends told me that their elementary school kids said something like "Chinese people are mean." and refused to explain to their parents the reason. What stereotypes of Chinese people, no matter how wrong they are, may give kids such an idea? Pushy? Selfish? I am not sure what those kids mean by "mean". And does this happen to other ethnic groups?

  • Are these two names too silly? Mickey and Minnie?

I am expecting to get a new baby next year, the year of Rat according to East Asian tradition. Thus I and my wife are considering to call the baby Mickey or Minnie for the obvious reason. Those are just nicknames, of course. I am wondering are those good names for kids? I don't want my kids to be ashamed of their names in the future. :)

  • In Beijing, is there any coin operated laundry or charge-per-bag laundry?

Basically, how to do laundry for back-packers? I know there are some professional cleaners, who charge almost US$1 per piece, including socks. That's not what I am talking about.

Everyone I asked told me that I need to wash my clothes by myself and hung those in my hotel room. That's not a good idea either.
