  • video card and monitor working but no display?

I have tested both video card and moniter, they both work, but i have no video. The is no output, my monitor stays asleep when I start up my computer. I know my computer is starting because i can hear it. The most recent thing I have done that I can think of is change the startup boot order of my hardware but that shouldn't effect my display should it? All i did was change the CD drive to first on the lst instead of floppy being first and I dont even have one. Anyone have any ideas?

    thx

  • My ipod thinks it charging when its unplugged?

My ipod show the screen that says that it is fully charged at all times even when it is unplugged. It seems to think is is permanently plugged in and fully charged. I can still use it but since the lcd screen is on alll the time the battery runs down quick and I do not know how much battery is left since it always says that is is fully charged. I have done the menu and middle button reset, the hold switch reset, and I have run a restore on it which restores it to factory settings and it still says it is plugged in and fully charged. I would be gratefull for any help because I don't have an easy way to scrape up the money to send it in for warranty since they charge you to send it in (whats up with that?) and I have had it for more than 90 days so I can't call support for free.

    Thx for any help

  • My front I/O USB ports not working right after I installed a new case?

First I had problems installing the case, ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkoSF... ), now that I have the case with everything installed in it and it can turn on the usb ports won't recognize anything except my keyboard. I have looked under device manager and it says that the root hubs are fine but it says I have no drivers for them (an ipod and a webcam) so I re-installed the drivers and the programs (itunes and creative instant) still will not recognize the devices even though windows does. Thx for any help

  • I tried to move my computer to a new case...?

And something went wrong! When I thought I had hooked everything up i tried to turn it on and nothing happened. I checked the connections and they were all in and in the right places. Then I decided to use the power switch and front I/O from my old case so that every thing was the same as it was before I had put everything in a new case (except for the location of the hardware, but that shouldn't matter.) and tried to turn it on. Nothing happened. I then tried a different power supply in case i had screwed mine up somehow...nothing happend. Then I made sure my outlet was good by using a lamp in the same outlet. The lamp worked. Anyone have any ideas what is going wrong or how to fix it? maybe a plug or I/O pluggin i messed up or switched around on the motherboard..? IDK, i've tried everything I know to do.

  • Does anyone know a good place to get PC repair certification online?

I would like to start working on computers in my small community but it is hard to compete with someone who has a certificate saying they can repair PC's when I do not. I don't need much training, i have done a lot of research myself and I am self-taught on computer hardware, troobleshooting, etc. I'm still in high school so whatever I do it would have to be online or local (North Texas). I need somewhere that I can take a test or short coarse to get a certificate for PC repair in short.

    Thx for any ideas/help.

  • Xeon processors in desktops?

I have seen some of the latest workstations from HP and Dell and they use xeon processors which is a server processor. Does this mean they are using a server mobo and processors, RAM, etc. to run a desktop computer? Can server hardware run normal desktop processes? Lastely does anyone know whether xeon or extreme QX6700 processors are better for gaming?
