  • How often do you wash your hair with shampoo?

I am down to only 2-3 times a week. I am trying to get down to once a week, and then eventually switch over from store bough shampoo to the baking soda/apple cider vinegar method. Anyone have any good tips or anyone who has done this?

  • Can vitamins make you sick?

I started taking GNC's Hair, Skin, & Nails vitamins a few days ago. For the past two days I have woken up in the morning feeling anxious, jittery, and nauseous. I feel like I have a stomach bug or something. Can it be the vitamins?

  • Kitten picky about food brands?

My kitten will only eat certain brands of wet food... fancy feast, sheeba, and friskies. Yesterday when I did my grocery shopping at Trader Joe's, I picked up a few cans of their store brand cat food and he wouldn't touch it. Kept crying and crying because he was hungry so I had to go to another store and buy him his fancy feast. Anyone else experience this? why is this? I have only had him for a month now and he has dry food out during the day an gets fed wet food (half a can) twice a day...when I get up in the AM and around 7PM. ANy advice would be helpful.

  • Why has nobody asked me to dinner while at work?

All of the other men and women get asked by someone it seems. I look my best on the daily basis and still have no invitation to dinner in a restaurant or a home. I have asked before, it doesn't seem to work.

  • Is a 10 year age difference too big?

I am 27 years old, and recently have been chatting with a 37 year old man. I'm not sure if I should date him because of the age difference. Is 10 years too big? We have many things in common and he is looking for a stable relationship and commitment as opposed to many men my own age.

  • I don't feel safe going on this trip but...?

I go visit my relatives in Moscow, Russia every summer. I have had this trip planned for over 6 months, but now with everything going on between Russia and Ukraine and Russia and the US, I don't know if I should go. I have Russian and American citizenship. The only reason I want to go is to visit my aging grandparents (don't know how much time they have left). I don't know what to do.

  • How to ask this woman to have her kid stop calling the office?

I am the receptionist for a fairly busy office. It is my responsibility to answer work and business related calls. There is this one woman who works near me, who has a daughter that is 16 or 17 who calls her line every day at 10AM and 3PM. When the woman doesn't answer her line, her daughter will call the main number and ask for her. It is SO annoying. How do I ask her to stop?

  • Landlord won't do anything about mold in mildew in apartment?

My boyfriend and I rent out the basement apartment in a building. We moved in December 2013 and are on a 1 year lease. Always pay rent on time, never complain, never asked landlord to fox anything before. Recently we have noticed more and more mold and mildew in the bathroom and bedroom and I have gotten severe allergies. I called the landlord multiple times and told him he needs to take care of this ASAP and at first got no response and then he said there is nothing I can do, sorry. Can we withhold rent until he fixes it?

  • Is $50 enough for wedding gift?

If I give the bride and groom a $50 Visa giftcard or cash in a nice wedding card, is that enough? I am one of the bridesmaids for the wedding. I have very little money to spend this month.

  • What gift should maid of honor give bride?

My friend who I have known for about 10 years is getting married in less than two weeks! I am the maid of honor at her wedding and she told me I don't need to get her or her husband a wedding gift, but I would feel weird showing up to the wedding with no gift at all. What should I get her? Or how much should I spend? I've never been part of a wedding before and grew up in a different country where weddings aren't as big of a deal as they are in America.

  • How to deal with rude coworker who has a bad attitude?

I wouldn't care if we didn't have to work together on a regular basis, but we do, and she also sits in the cube right next to me. I am 27 and she is about 40 (give or take a few years, I've never asked). She always commands me to do things even though she is not my boss, has awful mood swings, and usually when I ask her something politely she barely even answers, Her tone is very rude and demeaning, and the only way she got her position is she used to be neighbors with our current office manager. Other employees have been commenting on her rudeness and reluctance to help them as well. I have brought this up multiple times to the office manager, and she has done very little to help the situation- she in fact at one time asked me if maybe it is me who isn't being cooperative with the lady. I really am not sure what to do at this point, how can I deal with her?

  • Is calling out of work because of personal family matters a good excuse?

I usually just say I'm sick, the day of and my boss is okay with it. But, I've been at this same job for 1.5 years and I always use the excuse "I'm sick" so I don't have to come in. I would like to have off tomorrow because I need to take care of some personal matters, and honestly am stressed to the max because of this stupid job. Is it okay to say I have personal family matters I need to deal with? or will my supervisor see right through it as me wanting a Friday off?

  • Can my boss tell me I am not allowed to use my sick days?

I work for a medium sized office as the front end receptionist, and we are surprisingly pretty busy this time of year. I have worked here for about a year and one month at this point. Just the other day, my boss and I had a bi-weekly meeting and she informed me that I am no longer allowed to take sick days because during the wintertime I had called out too many times already (due to being ill, weather conditions, etc...) and I have a vacation coming up in August and will be away for a week and a half. However, I checked on the HR website that tracks our sick leave and it says I have 4.5 sick days accumulated at this point (we get 7.5 hours off per pay period-bi weekly and it goes into this bank for paid days off). Is my boss legally allowed to tell me I can't use days off that I have in my bank?

  • Should I quit my job?

I have worked here as the receptionist for a year an a half, no chance at all of moving up it seems. It is VERY stressful and everyone looks down on me and blames me when things go wrong. I was a temp before this and MUCH happier. Should I quit and go back to temping? I am 27 years old and have a college degree.

  • Co-worker who asks me to lunch EVERY day...?

We have worked together for a little over a year. We are friends outside of work and text a lot. She asks me to lunch pretty much every day, and its not that I don't like going to lunch with her but I really have stuff I need to get done (not for work, personal errands) during my lunch break or phone calls I have to make, or maybe another coworker I'd like to eat lunch with on a particular day. If I tell her I can't have lunch with her because I'm busy she gets annoyed and also if she runs into me in the cafeteria or outside during lunch she gives me an accusing look as if it say "if you aren't having lunch with me, why are you in the cafeteria...?" I don't know how to handle this gently, I am tired of making up excuses as to why I can't have lunch with her. Sometimes I just don't want to.

  • How to deal with this woman at work?

There are two "front office" positions at work, I am one...the receptionist, the lady who works next to me is the office coordinator/receptionist support. She has grown increasingly hostile to me, and tends to boss me around and tell me what to do (mind you, she is NOT my boss...our boss is the office manager). She always has a horrible attitude, hates answering phones/interacting with people (part of her job) and thinks that just because she is 43 and I'm 27, she can tell me how to do my job. I try being friendly and optimistic every day with her, but she is just a b**** all the time. She never says please, thank you, etc...and just has awful people skills. I've talked to my boss and she says she has talked to her numerous times. Nothing seems to be improving, how can I handle this? Should I talk to her directly?

  • Am I pregnant or hungover?

Last Saturday night my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, he finished inside me. Last night (Tuesday) I went out drinking with my friends, drank more than I should have, and went to be late...had to be up for work at 6AM. I felt okay at the start of the day but towards the middle and now I have a horrible headache, am sensitive to the smell of things, feel very very nauseous, and even a little dizzy. Could these be symptoms of pregnancy or am I just hungover? I am 27 and this is not my first time drinking.

  • Do I have a chance at getting this job?

I work at the company already, I work as an admin. and have been in this position for a year and 4 months. The position I am applying for is within our department, but it is a coordinator (one up from what I do). I already do some of the work that the coordinator is to do, I know the team I would be working with and am on good terms with the hiring manager and the assistant manager. Lately, they have been giving me more work to do because the old coordinator left. The position has not yet been posted, but when it is, do I have a good chance of getting it if I apply? I heard that many companies prefer to promote from within rather than hire new people from outside.
