last season i couldnt get any baby canaries and for this reason i changed the mates.for example last season A was with B and C was with D.but now A is with C and the rest goes on.but now they are calling for each other.by calling i mean they make JIK sound to each other.they dont see each other.one couple is ready to mate and put them in one cage after 5 days of living side by side in 2 cages.now i dont see any attraction toward each other.each one is doing and eating.what should i do to encourage them to mate??

  • What to feed during last days before mating canaries?

hen is tearing paper and she is tearing much more paper than the day before. The male was singing but from the time i put the cages beside each other he stopped. Is it normal??what is good for making fertile eggs?? i am not that much sure whether they are in condition because my other canaries are not ready to mate yet and everybody tells that it is 40 days left for the breeding season. Is it possible one canary gets ready sooner than other kept in the same condition?

  • Plz helpppppppppppppppp!!!?

i bought a pair of canaries and the owner told me they will lay eggs if u put the nest.i put the nest and she was making the nest and after 10 days she laid 4 eggs.male was also in the cage.but the eggs didn't hatch and were infertile.i waited for 18 days and then i took out the eggs.it passes about 15 days of taking the eggs out and my male canary sings vigorously and he seems ready to mate and i think when she laid the eggs he wasn't ready to mate and gets ready now and i noticed my hen tearing news paper so i put a piece of cotton in the cage and she immediately took it and divided it into small parts.by the way i shall note that she is so restless.she claps her wings as if she wants to fly.she jumps all around the cage.is it possible they are going to lay eggs just after 1month that passes from their last mating????if yes, when should i put the nest???

  • Please help me about my problem about canary mating..?

I bought a pair of canaries from someone and he told that they are both ready to mate and all i need to do is put the nest pan for them to lay eggs.I put the nest and after 4 days i saw them lay egg.i also noticed their mating.the hen laid 4 eggs but now after waiting for 18 days i see they are unfertile eggs and they didnt hatch.i broke them and they were all mixed up and half water.now i see that the male sings vigorously even better than before and what i guess is that when they were mating the male wasn't ready enough.he sings all the time but the hen has risen from the incubation just yesterday.what should i do to have fertile eggs next time.shall i keep them in seperate cages???or just keep them in one cage??i am a beginner plz help me thoroughly. Thanks alot dear friends.
