I was born around the time when Dinosaurs walked the earth, but on some days, I feel much older :-(( Divorced and live on the edge of whatever life has to offer. Sometimes, I'm a bit impulsive but I'm lucky enough to say that most things have worked out for the best-except for my marriage. I live on The Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia and make the most of sun, surf, sand and cafes (weather permitting). We're a long way from everywhere else in the world, but it's worth the trip to visit The Land Downunder (I'll throw an extra shrimp on the barby for you) In case you're wondering - I don't ride a Kangaroo to work and a fully grown Koala can leave a nasty bite if you mis-handle him. My answers are based on my experience, wisdom & knowledge - sometimes they're funny, but they're always genuine. I probably won't post an answer with the sole intention of accumulating 2 points - that's not why I'm here. Whatever you do - enjoy it

  • Latest Yahoo Mail version problems ..... GRRRR! HELP???

I have the latest Yahoo Mail version .... even though I didn't ask for it.

I also have a seperate Yahoo Messenger, but it's easier to use the Messenger Chat that's attached to my Yahoo Mail.

The problem is that when I'm typing my message .... none of the characters appear in the message box, but when I select "send" or "enter" ~ my message appears on the screen 5 seconds later.

Why would Yahoo introduce a new version of their product if it doesn't work properly???

Or ..... is the problem with me?? Am I doing something wrong??

The last version was perfect!!! Never a problem and worked 1st time every time.

  • All New Yahoo Mail ~ grrrrrr(angry)rrrrrr?

A few weeks ago, Yahoo Mail introduced an "All New Look" Interface for email.

    1. It doesn't have an Option to compose a new email or a chat message and

    2. It doesn't have any Options where I can appear to be "available" ~ "away" ~ "busy" or "offline".

    3. I hate it more than I hate Brussel Sprouts

I don't particularly wish to go back to the prehistoric days of using Yahoo Classic Mail, but it seems that I have no choice in the matter. All I want to do is to log-in, scan and and answer my emails and in doing so, I prefer not to be interrupted by friends who see me online and "available for a chat". Sometimes, due to time factors, I just want to log-in for a few minutes ... and then log-off again. Don't get me wrong ~ I don't wish to ignore my friends, but there's a time and place for everything.

How can I change my Yahoo Interface to the same version that included the Options I had a few weeks ago????

  • Do you hate the new Yahoo!7 Calender and Notepad ...?

.... as much as I hate it?

Why, oh why, oh why does Yahoo keep re-designing their product if they don't include the same Options as the previous version?

Without knowing that it was about to happen, my Yahoo!7 Mail has changed to Yahoo! Mail and the Option for composing a new email or a chat message has disappeared.

I liked the previous version and I would LOVE to change back, but there doesn't appear to be anywhere that I can do this.

Why "fix" something ... if it isn't "broken"?

HEEEEEEEEEEELP me to change back please??????

  • Are male cats sensitive ......?

....... to the smell of Moth Balls?

I don't know much about cats and their habits, but I've heard that dogs won't urinate or p**p anywhere near an area where they can smell Moth Balls. So, I was wondering ..... are male cats also adverse to the smell of Moth Balls?

A good friend of mine has a male and a female cat (both have been neutered). Although the male cat p**ps in the litter tray, he seems to "mark" his territory by spraying his urine inside and outside of the house regularly ~~~ the female has more manners than to do such a thing :-))

Will the strong scent of strategically placed Moth Balls discourage the male cat from spraying his urine in whatever places that are required to be kept clean?

  • Cars and trucks - can they co-exist?

An accident on the Hume Highway south of Sydney raises my question of whether large trucks and family sized cars can (and should) co-exist on major roads. Three people, all from the same family were killed when their car was crushed by a prime mover that crossed to the wrong side of the highway.

The B-double was travelling south on the divided Hume Highway when it veered on to the median strip and crossed to the wrong side of the highway. It crashed head on into the northbound car, crushing the car and killing the three passengers.

In another recent similar tragic circumstance - a small car needed to stop suddenly when a ladder fell off the roof of a vehicle in front of it, but the large 34 wheel truck following the small car had no hope of stopping. Result - a crushed small car ~ 2 people dead.

Perhaps we, and many other countries where large trucks are a threat to our driving safely, should adopt the Beijing attitude of banning all these types of trucks on specific roads during daylight hours?

  • Help with logging in to Yahoo please?

After almost 7 years of logging into my Yahoo e-mail, I'm suddenly shown a Security Warning box before I can log-in.

This webpage contains content that will not be delivered using a secure HTTPS connection, which could compromise the security of the entire webpage."

MORE INFO - YES - NO

  • What happens if a question is deleted?

If I've answered a question and I've been awarded 2 points, are those 2 points withdrawn if:-

    1. The person who asked the question deletes their question

    or

    2. The Yahoo Police suspend or cancel the person's account prior to a Best Answer being picked.

Usually my Answers are a bit longer than 3 or 4 words, so I think I deserve to keep the points. Especially if I've put a considerable amount of effort into coming up with an educated answer. I even put a bit of effort in when I wanna be a smart a$$ (hehehe), but we won't go there. I'm too much of a nice guy to be a smart a$$.

......... and finally - if the Aliens take you far far away to another Solar System - do you think they will give you any Frequent Flyer Points?

  • Help with the new Yahoo!7Mail please?

A few months ago I updated to the new Yahoo!7Mail. It's not too bad - it's faster and provides some features that the older versions never thought of.

However ............ either there's a glitch with yahoo or some of my settings have been inadvertently altered due to major computer repairs earlier this week.

When I click the Compose Message tab, a Drop Down Box appears with 2 options. 1. Email, 2. Instant Message, but when I select Instant Message I'm told:- "Sorry, but Yahoo!7 Messenger is currently unavailable. Please try again later".

This has been happening for 2 days now and I'm beginning to wonder - how long is "later"?

If it's important - I live in Sydney, Australia.

  • Help with "The New Look" YAHOO! 7 Mail - please?

A few days ago, when logging-in on YAHOO! 7 Mail, I was advised that The New Look Yahoo was here - click and see..............

Actually, it's not too bad. It's similar to the Beta Version Pilot, but it doesn't appear to have the glitches.

There's one thing though. It has a 'Messenger' component, but when using this facility, I can't find where to increase or decrease my Font Size. I can't change to a different style of Font either. Does anybody know if there's a secret button somewhere?

I'm located in Australia (if that makes any difference)

  • Are Plankers or Aliens responsible for this?

I'm sure you've all heard about them, but have you ever thought about who or what is responsible for making Crop Circles?

Somehow I doubt that a few men with planks and rope would be able to produce such huge, intricate and precise patterns like the ones shown in the attached video.

  • Where do Penguins go when they die?

Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica - where do they go?

    Wonder no more ! ! !

It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely ordered and complex life.

The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life, as well as maintaining a form of

compassionate contact with its offspring throughout its life. If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family and social circle have been known to dig holes in the ice, using their vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for the dead bird to be rolled into and buried.

The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and sing:-

    "Freeze a jolly good fellow"

    "Freeze a jolly good fellow."

Then they kick him in the ice hole.

  • How many Stars do you average ...?

......... for each question you ask?

Yahoo Answers calculate a Best Answer percentage for the amount of questions we answer, but wouldn't it be good to see exactly how interesting our questions are? (based on the number of Stars we receive)

To find out how interesting your questions are - go to "My Statistics" on your own Homepage. There, you will see the total amount of questions you've asked (I've asked 114 questions - not including this one)

Just below will be the amount of Stars you've received from people who thought your questions were interesting. (I have 308 Stars)

Calculate how interesting your questions are by dividing your total Stars by the amount of questions you've asked. Mine is 2.70 Stars per question.

    example:- 308 divided by 114 = 2.70
