Do any police dash cams have radar embedded?
Hi, I live in California, specifically the NorCal region.. So heres what happened.. I got pulled over for doing 55 in a 35.
But... She was on a side street to the right (so she told me) as I went by, and I never saw her at all, and it was right before a left turn light I was taking, which I was the first one at the light. So when I made my turn, I got much farther ahead of everyone else, which was weird.. As my car is not that fast compared to other models of my car.. And it was still a 35 street..
But then it came to my realization that there was some blue and reds behind those people as she wanted them to get out of her way, I'm assuming, so I pull over in a turn out and wait for her to see what she does.. And she pulls up behind me.. Tells me I was doing 55 in a 35, but she never showed me this or said she had me on radar, nothing. It's my first ticket ever, 4th pullover in about... 4 or 5 months.. So I didn't really think of it.. But, what she did mention was that I was on camera, as she pointed out the RED light beneath her dash cam.
Obviously I am not familiar with dash cams and tried to do some research, but didn't come up with anything, so I'm curious if this particular cam has radar within it to detect how fast I was going? Because frankly, I dont believe I was going 55.. not that fast at least
I do remember that it was like a black barreled camera, and the red light was right underneath it, which I cant find any of them on google.. So if anyone knows what the hell I'm talking about, maybe you can help me.
I plan to fight it, because the chance is better than just paying the ticket, as I am not made of money.. And there wont be an additional charge like I've seen many other people just randomly posting on other questions. If I contest it, that gives her the chance to prove me guilty, correct? I just want to know what to expect.. As I do not want to get some shock as to just how fast I was really going if it was radar enabled somehow
hopefully someone can clear this up for me a little bit as its my first ticket, and if i eventually lost my license after several more tickets, I'd lose my job, cuz it involves driving.. Which isnt good.. so i want the least amount of tickets
thanks!
p.s. it was a female cop, woo.
2 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoSell my RX8 for a Chevelle?
I currently own an 04 lightning yellow Mazda RX-8, which I bought for $5k at 82,xxx miles. Currently it has 84,xxx. i'm having second opinions about the car and am kind of in a sticky situation, as the car is absolutely amazing even at stock form. I have access to a very clean 70 Chevelle hardtop with a rebuilt 325 I believe, for $10k. The car has only had one owner, who didn't exactly garage it everyday, so the entire car has been restored to perfect condition, except for the trunk, which is an easy fix.
I feel I can sell my RX-8 for double what I bought it, at least, including the cosmetic add ons I've put onto it, and I've grown really attached to it, so I'm kind of in a jam. What would be the best thing for me? I'd like both, but I gotta settle for one.
Also, I pay $777 every 6 months for insurance alone on the 8, mainly because they consider it a 2 door sports car, and thats with no tickets or accidents.. I am 18, thats why its so fudgin high. How much of a difference would this Chevy make it?
Thanks!
1 AnswerBuying & Selling1 decade agoDoes caffeine affect my spinal cord?
I woke up this morning (16 hours ago) to a strange pain in my lower body. I had much difficulty getting out of bed, which is very common, but I actually tried and couldn't. The whole day, the lower end, or my tailbone, has been in excruciating pain, and it still is. My main problem: any bending motion from sitting to standing. Toilet seat is the worst. And my stool has become extremely difficult to get out, but I may be crazy, but losing my load seemed to improve my tailbone, which still hurts really f**king bad. Would caffeine be the cause of this? I'm 5 foot 9 inches, only 220 lbs, and I'm 18. Maybe I'll be better tomorrow, but should I cut down on the energy drinks and coffee?
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management1 decade agoWhat type of vehicle shop would wire/set up neon under glow?
I am interested in yellow neon under glow for my yellow 04 mazda rx8. After previous experience wiring my sound system, I don't want to deal with the hassle of more wiring and placement again. So what kind of shop would do such a job for me? Should I try an audio store since they always deal with wiring, or is there something better to look into? Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoWhat to do with my 2.7 liter 24 valve 01 Chrysler Sebring Convertible?
You can say I treat my car harshly, but i've had it since 96k miles, and its at 107k now.. and probably everytime I drive it, I'll always eventually put it into overdrive, and it's been totally fine, regular oil change, all that. Last Tuesday, I drove it to apply for a job about 2.5 miles away, had to brake hard once because someone turned at the last minute, and when I tried to accelerate, it skipped and didnt go, then it hooked and accelerated. When I stopped at the store, the engine felt very shaky, like as if it would almost die like a dirtbike or manual transmission car stalling. on the way back, almost home, i come to a stop at the last light to my house and the car dies in the middle of the road during traffic. I try to start it a lot, being frantic as i hate to be a road block/hazard. I push it into the gas station right by the light and open the hood to look at it. I'm not sure where it came from, but something shot up and hit the roof of the hood inside, as well as liquid being on the front sitting on ledges of the engine. I pulled out the oil rod and it was milky, like coffee, so the coolant mixed in with the oil. i may have a faulty gauge because the car felt really hot, but there wasnt smoke, just some partial steam. either its a blown head gasket, which it probably is, or a cracked block. in either case, something has to be done. my dad isnt a mechanic, but he is more of a handy man that can do anything. my mom feels we should replace the engine if the engine is done for, but why replace a faulty engine with another faulty engine? plus i need transportation by the 30th and my dad doesnt have time for replacing the engine, my mom doesnt understand that. so is it worth fixing if the engine is alright? we've already had to rebuilt the front end to replace the axles and ball joints, then a nut came out and i bent the brake caliper and control arm.. which was around may/june. after the first sign of this faulty engine failure, should i junk it, or keep it?

1 AnswerSmall Business1 decade agoHow big of an amplifier do I need to power a 12 inch subwoofer sufficiently?
i have a small one right now, and i dont think its giving me my subwoofer all the juice it needs, so I want to buy a new one.. how big would I need for it if I were to get an extra subwoofer as well, and again for a 3rd? What I'm saying is how much do I need to power 1 sub, 2 subs, and 3 subs, 3 things, thanks
2 AnswersCar Audio1 decade agoHow come my 12 inch subwoofer wont work?
so we routed all the wires we need from the battery to the amp to the sub, etc. spliced the audio from the amp to radio into the rear speakers in my car and we spliced the power to the amp from the radio with the correct wire there that is hot while acc is on, and we had hooked up the subwoofer to L+ and R- for the mono sub and after we tested it out, we got a repetive constant beat (motorboat effect [which can be caused by a wire to the sub from the amp being grounded somewhere else maybe, but we checked and nothing is being grounded accidentally..]) that went even when the radio was off (with accessories on). but when we had put them both on L+ & - or R+ & -, it would work fine, but with the bass on the amp all the way up and the bass on the radio all the way up, it just moved without making any vibration, but it was following the beat for sure. Is there something we missed?
1 AnswerCar Audio1 decade agoWhere can I find the radio wiring diagram for a 2001 Chrysler Sebring Convertible?
I'm trying to hook up my subwoofer into my car so I need to splice the wire into the radio, but I can't find any of the colors in my book for my car that match with the radio, all help is appreciated
2 AnswersChrysler1 decade agoCan someone support these questions with answers relating jobs please?
My managers claim to be too busy, and my folks are too sick to ask right now, and I never owned a business before so I have no idea what possible answers there are to some of these. Anyways, numbered 1-10 will help me out. I need (a) what course of action to take, and (b) how this would affect company profits, so keep it in general, not specific to any job, though I do work at Baskin Robbins.
1. People who steal money or merchandise from the company or hook up friends or family members.
2. People who are habitually late to work.
3. People who clock in too early for their shifts.
4. People who call in sick a lot.
5. People who lie to customers, co-workers, managers.
6. People who are disloyal to the company (example: sharing confidential info about customers or talking bad about the company).
7. People who are not productive at work (example: talking with friends when they should be working, or texting, using the computer or internet, ext.)
8. People who have a poor attitude at work and who show by their actions they really do not want to be there.
9. People who come to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
10. People who don't get along with management, co-workers, and customers.
Any help is appreciated, preferably all of them answered would be nice, so calling all managers, thank you in advance!
2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhat do I say to my manager who says I am slow everytime I work?
Personally I do not think I am being slow, but my manager at Baskin Robbins thinks I am, and she asks me everytime I work, which leaves me there speachless with no answer at all. What is the best answer I should give to her? (besides working at my own pace)
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoWhere is the best spot to place a 12 inch subwoofer for a 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertible?
I'm planning on getting a 12 inch subwoofer, but I don't know where the ideal spot for it would be, considering the fact that there is a board in the trunk that covers the spare wheel that lift up, so I can't stick it there. Is underneath the passenger seat or back seat a possible solution?

1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhat are the exact prices for a 40G PS3, a 60G PS3, and a 120G PS3 at any one store?
I know a 120G PS3 is $300, but I saw that on Gamestop's website, they advertise a pre owned 60G at $330 while a brand new 120G is $300.. whats the deal?
3 AnswersPlayStation1 decade agoWhich do I get? PS3 or XBOX 360?
With all the price cuts going on, between the PS3 and XBOX 360, which one is a better deal? I'm a casual/hardcore gamer and I do not like to play games online, so PS3 would be good for free online access whenever I want, but I do enjoy games that are only available on the 360 as well, and the same goes for the PS3, but I need help with which type of system and hardware space would fit me well?
