How to alter music levels after a mix?
Hi,
I have a recording of an artist + a guitar. The problem is that the levels have come out with the guitar volume overpowering the vocals. Does anyone know a way of lowering the guitar volume post mix? I only have a copy of guitar and vocals together.
thanks

2 AnswersCamcorders6 years agoHow to record directly from microphone to camcorder?
Hello,
So I would like to film my friends band but I'm not very tech savvy. I have a nice canon camcorder and the band has mics etc.
The problem is that I don't want them to play through amplifiers and then just record that on the camcorder because obviously that won't be very good quality.
So my question is, how can i record directly from 3 microphones into the camera?
Is there some kind of external box i can use to collate all three mics then plug that directly into there camera while I film?
Thanks!

Hello,
Does anyone know the origin of these types of glyphs?
http://saxoncampbell.com/whats-your-glyph/
Are they a modern construction or do they actually have a basis in any older cultures?
Ideally please include links to your sources or where I can read more (as i have been unsuccessful in finding any information as of yet)
thanks!
1 AnswerHistory6 years agoCannot connect external hard drive to mac? urgent?
Hello,
So i am currently having trouble connecting an external hard drive to my macbook pro. It has urgent dissertation notes on which I really want to recover.
Basically my old laptop broke so, on the advice of the apple store guy, i took out the hard drive and placed it into an external hard drive casing. I connected it to my laptop and i believe it showed up briefly (a random series of numbers and letters?) however it said that it could not connect. I unplugged the usb and re-plugged it to see if that would help but now it won't show up at all.
When i plug it into the laptop, a little LED turns on on the external hard drive so it must be connected somehow?
How can i get it to show up in my Finder?
What can i do to recover my files from here?
Is there a chance the hard drive is broken and nothing can be recovered?
Thank you for any help, it will be much appreciated

2 AnswersInfectious Diseases6 years agoHow long can Norovirus survive on surfaces for?
I am emetophobic. I've recently developed a lot of anxiety because of it. Everything was fine until a friend I was seeing last night announced she had just had a stomach bug the day before. It has sent me into hyperdrive anxiety mode.
I know the basics about Norovirus but I was wondering how long can it survive on surfaces for? I've done so much research and I've read anything between a few days and a few years. There doesn't seem to be any collusion.
Can anyone give me an answer with a scientific root? Link to some research or what have you?
I am terrified my house is infected with Norovirus as well as my personal things i.e. phone and can't function until I know how long it could stick about for

1 AnswerInfectious Diseases6 years agoWill I get food poisoning?
I have quite bad anxiety over food poisoning atm because I was really ill from food poisoning recently and it has caused months of complications.
Today I made a casserole with chicken and veg. I left it to cool for 2 1/2 hours before reheating some for 5 minutes.
I read that you should never leave anything out for more than 1 1/2 hours then reheat it or it becomes inedible. I reheated mine after 2 1/2 - 3 hours and thus am worried.
My question is, do you think this could give me food poisoning?
Secondly, how hot should the food be when reheated? I did mine for 5 minutes and it was pretty hot after that as you can imagine but what is the usual reheating time for chicken? It was less than a chicken breast's worth
thanks
3 AnswersCooking & Recipes6 years agoStopped my lansoprazole and now it won't work?
I was taking 15mg off Lansoprazole with a view to coming off it. I was very ambitious one day and stopped it completely which resulted in horrible heartburn. I started taking it again the next day as I knew I needed to go down doses more slowly but its been several days now and the heartburn still hasn't subsided. Does anyone know how long until the Lansoprazole gets back to working properly? (i was only off it one day)
Pain & Pain Management7 years agoMedical advice on Helicobacter Pylori?
Hey,
I am a 20 year old male and I have been feeling nauseous for 2 weeks now pretty much non-stop. My doctor currently thinks it could be Helicobacter Pylori. I've just come back from travelling around Europe where I fell ill. He has prescribed me Lansoprazole which has cut down the acidic feeling in my stomach however I still have the nausea. I was under the impression that the nausea was a result of the acid and that, now the acid has gone, I should no longer be experiencing it (I have only been taking Lansoprazole for 2 days now granted). I would like it to benHelicobacter Pylori because at least then I will have a firm diagnosis. My question is that is it normal for the nausea to continue despite the Lansoprazole controlling my stomach acid? Will it continue until the actual bacteria has been dealt with? I wonder because if the nausea should be removed when the Lamsoprazole is taken then clearly there is a different issue with I have. I'm eager to resolve it because 2 weeks of constantly feeling nauseous is seriously not fun. Anyway, any help would be really really appreciated, ideally from anyone medically trained or who may have experienced this particular bacteria, thank you
2 AnswersMedicine7 years agoHow long does it take to become dependent on sleeping pills?
Hi,
I've always had trouble sleeping. Sometimes my body-clock gets really bad. For example, right now I can just about get to sleep at around 5am - this is pretty consistent. I know I don't do enough exercise, I eat too late and I watch TV before I sleep - all things that can contribute to insomnia. But I've always had this problem. Exercise makes little difference, I eat 24/7 as I have a very high metabolism and I watch TV because Im sooooo bored of simply not being able to sleep. I see these things as symptoms rather than causes.
Anyway my question is that if I were to take a sleeping pill at say 11pm and get an early night so that I can reset my body-clock, would that have any affect on my normal sleep?
I heard that using sleeping pills too often makes it harder for you too sleep normally as you become dependent on them. Thats the last thing I want.
If I take a pill every few weeks to reset my clock or perhaps even twice a week for a month - will I become dependent?
thanks (sorry if that was a bit confusing)
1 AnswerMental Health7 years agoEffect of Land and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995?
Hello,
I'm preparing for some law exams and I am really struggling with the 1995 Land and Tenant (Covenants) Act in my Land Law module. I've been trawling for criticisms, strengths/weaknesses and have found very little.
Can anyone with legal knowledge give me a couple of useful points on how this act reformed the law prior to it?
It would be very much appreciated,
Thank you.
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics7 years agoIs PR a dying profession?
Hello,
I'm interested in a career in PR, in particularly within a record label. The other day my friend said to me that PR was a dying career. I completely disagree with this but then again I don't know that much about the profession at the moment. I was wondering if anyone had insight onto the future of a career in PR? especially within a record label & the music industry.
Thanks.
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment7 years agois PR a dying profession?
Hello,
Im interested in a career in PR, in particularly within a Record Label. A friend said to me the other day that, in the modern age, PR was a dying profession. I disagree with this entirely but then again Im not that knowledgeable on the profession as of yet. Do you believe that PR is dying? Would it be unwise to pursue a career in this if it is declining? Any advice is very welcome, especially in relation to the role of PR within Record Labels.
Thanks.

2 AnswersTheatre & Acting7 years agoWhat qualifications do I need to negotiate recording contracts in the UK?
Hello,
My ideal job involves negotiating recording contracts for record labels. I was wondering If anyone could tell me, from experience ideally, more about the process, who is involved in the process and what qualifications I might need. Are these contracts negotiated by multiple people (attorney & manager etc.) or is one person able to negotiate on behalf of a label.
(Please avoid a simple link to an article as they are not useful to me).
Also please bear in mind that this is a question for the British recording industry (so UK specific answers please).
I'm currently studying a law degree - would this be sufficient (with experience in the industry) to obtain a role negotiating contracts or would I need to become a qualified lawyer also.
Thanks
1 AnswerLaw & Legal8 years agoIs there a kiss in the play 'Punk Rock'?
Does anyone know if there is a stage kiss in the play 'Punk Rock' by Simon Stephens? Its not a hugely famous play so I haven't been able to find out and I don't have a copy of the script. Is anyone familiar with this play and can tell me if there is or not?
Thanks
1 AnswerTheatre & Acting8 years agoWhere can I buy tight hair ties for men?
Hey,
I'm growing my hair out a bit and I'm looking for a hair tie thats suitable for men - especially one for the workplace. My hair isn't that long just yet so I need one that is very tight compared to one of the looser fitting ones that girls usually use. Does anyone know where I can buy a tight hair tie? I've trawled through various hair accessory sites and have found nothing suitable as of yet so thought I would turn to the folks here. Thanks.
