  • Unemployment benefits, EDD California?

I want to collect partial unemployment (1 day per week), since I'm now required to work only 4 days per week.

Will this affect the length or amount of benefit if I get laid-off?

  • Damned if you do; damned if you don't?

I was told by a very religious person, that I will "burn in hell" if I don't read the Bible.

Also, that God loves me and forgives me for my sins.

So why wouldn't God forgive me for not reading the Bible?

    Who wants me to Burn-in-hell?

It'll be nice to know what you think about this!

    Thank you!

  • What do you think of this?

This is just a mental exercise, not meant to be disrespectful to anyone.

God is said to be Super Powerful.

So if God is SO POWERFUL, can "HE" build a mountain so large that "HE, HIMSELF" cannot destroy.

If the answer is YES, then "HE" is not so powerful, since "HE" cannot destroy it.

If the answer is NO, then "HE" is not so powerful, since "HE" cannot build such a large mountain.

I was asked this question long time ago, and could not find an explanation for it.

Later I though on the concept of INFINITY, there is where both things can be possible, build it and destroy it.

I'm curious about some comments you may have.

    Thank you.

  • If it is "Unstable" why is it "Instability"?

It seems to me that it should be "Instable" or "Unstability".

I know it happens in most languages!

  • Which is (are) more correct in English?

    1) The TWO of us.

    2) The BOTH of us.

    3) Both of us.

    I don't like how 2) sounds.

    3) seems best to me.

    4) A thousand.

    5) One thousand.

I like 5) better than 4), but are they both right?

  • Log-out without Link provided, is closing browser equivalent?

Most sites provide a log-out link on any of their pages.

In some sites, after logging-in and surfing through their pages, there is no log-out link provided.

I have called them, and they tell me that closing my browser is equivalent to logging-out.

Is this true, or am I exposing the data I entered to others that find the site open?

  • How to remove the Yahoo Bar from Firefox?

Recently Firefox was updated to Version 3.0.7 and the Yahoo Bar appeared. I don't remember to have seen it before.

I don't have a need for it and it reduces the area of the display on the web page.

Does anyone know how I could remove it?

    Thank you for any hints!

  • Still have problems with FTP downloading?

I use the same ISP as my son, Verizon.net, have the same Modem/Router as he has, use Windows XP with either Internet Explorer or Firefox, as he does.

He can download FTP files, I cannot.

I couldn't download an HP Printer driver nor an Epson Scanner driver.

I don't have any problems downloading Programs and/or FireFox Add-ons.

Some people mentioned about Port 21. This port is Allowed as Inbound Traffic.

I was also told to temporarily disable the Windows Firewall, then restore it after the download. No luck.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

  • Still unable to download an FTP file?

I was told to disable the Windows Firewall, still no luck.

I have a router that has an internal firewall set to On.

I prefer not to disable it.

    Could this be the cause?

  • Need help on downloading drivers. FTP files!?

I thought that HP was causing the problem, but also tried to download a driver for Epson scanner and the site is also FTP and doesn't work.

    Am I doing something wrong?

I posted a similar question before and was told it wasn't me, but HP's site.

    It's for Windows Vista 64-bit.

I regret having bought this computer, I don't need 64-bit.

I also have a laptop with Vista 32-bit and have no problems with drivers for the same software.

  • How to remove an unwanted Desktop Icon?

I' using Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

I tried to install a scanner and did not install properly, so I used Windows Uninstall (programs and preferences).

The files were removed but left an icon on the desktop.

When I right-click on it and choose "delete" it tells me that it is no longer located on the Desktop.

    So I cannot remove it.

Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you for any comments.

  • FTP Download question?

I'm trying to download an HP LaserJet P1005 printer driver for Windows Vista 64-bit.

    The site is:

    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10/COL21058/bi-55362-2/ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe/

It tries for a long time and nothing happens.

Is there a special thing to do with FTP?

HP doesn't know why I can't download it..

Thank you for any thoughts or comments.

  • Windows Explorer differences between Vista and XP?

I have two computers, one with Vista and one with XP.

When using Windows Explorer to view files, I can choose to Arrange Icons by Type on XP but on Vista there is no choice for file arrangement that I can see.

What I want to see is the file list grouped by file extension.

Is there a way to do it?
