  • On a scale from 0/10 - How Stressed are you at the moment?

So I have just received an eviction notice by my landlord (due to his son moving into town and needing the apartment). I am going through arguments at work, my wife wants a kid even though we are not sure we can afford to take care of one, and I have not had a vacation since 2013.

My overall stress level is around 6.5/10,

What about you? How stressed out is your life at the moment?

  • My GPU keeps getting disabled by default when I boot up my pc.?

I recently purchased a brand new gaming machine running an Asus GTX 980.

The thing works great, but every time the computer boots up, the graphics card gets disabled by default and everything appears to switch to the integrated GPU on the motherboard.

I have tried updating the drivers, but the problem still persists.

    Any solutions to this?

  • Questions about internet anonymity?

If users route their IP addresses through VPN's or proxies like BTGuard when downloading torrents, why aren't those proxy services sued instead?

Generally, hiding one's IP requires using a proxy's IP address instead, so doesn't it place the liability on those services?

  • Need a knowledgable person to explain this seemingly violent verse in the Quran?

After the Paris attacks 2 days ago, I began searching to see how many violent verses the Quran has, and in what context those verses were written in. As I expected, the grand majority of them were written in clauses of self-defence; but there was one which I am having trouble justifying:

[8.65] O Prophet! urge the believers to war; if there are twenty patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a hundred of you they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand.

It appears this clause by itself is urging a war on the infidels?

  • I would like to enter university and study engineering... but I am 26 years old... Is it too late?

My highschool grades were good up until the very last year, when my girlfriend of 10 months dumped me for my best friend.

My sadness led me to give up on school, and I ended up graduating with poor scores in both Maths and Physics, even though they were my best subjects just a year earlier.

I ended up joining the military for 10 months before I was honorably discharged due to an injury I sustained (nothing permanent, but enough to disabilities me for several months, which led me to being discharged).

I then took up a small diploma course of 2 years of Criminology out of interest, and found myself working as a security guard, before being promoted as a security supervisor of a security team of 10 people guarding our local tv news channel.

Aged 26 now and earning a meager $17/hour, I am regretting some earlier life choices. I have always had a strong passion for aeronautical and aerospace engineering, and I wish to study my passion.

To do that, I would need to take some kind of adult schooling to re-learn and retake exams in both Maths and Physics, which I am relatively certain I can do with my strong motivation to succeed.

What I want to know, is what are my chances of being accepted at a university, and most of all, finding a job later in the field that interests me? Are there any other students who took engineering in their late twenties? If so, what was the outcome of such studies?

  • Iphone 6 buyers, are you planning on getting the 4.7 or 5.5 inch size phone?

I am planning on pre-ordering the next iphone, but have trouble deciding which form factor to choose.

I generally don't like huge phones, but the larger version comes packed with a few extra things and those who reviewed it said it was not that bad to handle.

Which iPhone are you getting, and why?
