Fulminate (II) and Breaking Bad?
After watching Breaking Bad I was curious about mercury (II) fulminate. Could make for some Halloween fun if it's truly non-lethal. Is it? Is this what those finger snaps things are made out of? Those aren't my real question, but would appreciate feed back.
My real question, and i don;t know how to put this into words exactly... Carbon has "four spaces to fill" and nitrogen has 3. That explains carbon's attachment to the mercury. Two C-N molecules should be content to stick to mercury atom, but in the fulminate ion there's an oxygen atom attached to the nitrogen. There's a "+" above the nitrogen and a "-" above the oxygen. Some part of me realizes why it's so explosive, but how is its structure possible? What do those symbols mean? Does nitrogen "crave" an extra electron? Is Nitrogen a diva? What major area of chemistry was I denied in college? lol HELP!! XD

Do they sell kits at Home Depot or something? Do realtors do this kind of thing?
4 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)9 years agoHow can I score phone numbers quick?
I have a retail job and a competition has been envisioned. lol Everyone of us seems too shy to hit on all the hot chicks coming in and out everyday. So the other day I just asked a popular coworker out to lunch. It worked, but I wasn't impressed with her. But what I did do was inspire another coworker to ask someone out and he succeeded. :) Now we're thinking that we can have all the fun we want AND if word gets around that everyone is getting hit on at our particular store, we figure sales will rise. LOL
Now, in retail I figure our greatest advantage is that it's understood that we don't have time to flirt with customers. We COULD just skip to the number request, but what are some good, QUICK lines we could use? Also, I understand that some customers might be offended by this, so anyway to tell which ones might go to the manager with it? lol
1 AnswerSingles & Dating10 years agoWhere do I begin with networking computers?
I can't seem to get my network between two computers working and I'm beginning to think that I'm overlooking something very simple. I've never done it before and I think arrogance got the better of me when I charged in head first with no real knowledge. Are there any sites out there that run you through the process? Cheap book? Any other ideas?
I can get both computers connected to the internet individually. When connected to my router, the one I turn on first gets online, but the other gets "limited or no connectivity" message. Also, the pages to authenticate the router or whatever (198.162.1.1, etc) never load.
3 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoCan I bypass a setup disc for my router somehow?
I've been trying to network two computers for months. I keep getting stuck and the most recent clue to why I can't get it to work is that my second-hand router didn't come with a disc.I'm still not sure if THIS is the last thing I need to cover, so I don't want to go buy anything just yet. is there a program that I could use so that I wouldn't need the disc? Do I have other options? I'm using a dynex 10base-t ethernet router and I DO plan on contacting the company about the issue as well. Figured I'd ask here, too.
2 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoInternet on Ubuntu problem?
So I finally got brave (or desperate) and installed Ubuntu on my spare computer. It's alongside Windows XP, but I partitioned it so that Ubuntu got more space. Anyway, I was really happy with Ubuntu and got the internet connected with little trouble. It was heaven for about an hour and then my computer stalled and i needed to reboot. Now the internet connection doesn't work even with the same method I used. Any suggestions? I plan to do the same thing to my main computer and network them when I have a reliable internet connection to the first. Anything I should be aware of in that process?
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoHow do I network with Windows and Linux on same computers?
I'm sick of microsoft, but don't know Linux very well. Here's my plan: I want to put Linux and windows on both computers. I want to network the two with Linux (I'll only be using windows for offline work). Will windows interfere with me using Linux as my preferred OS? Any other problems I might face? Is Ubuntu easy to network with?
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoWindows 7 Upgrade with "pirated" XP base?
My current computer is running XP, but for the life of me I can't remember which computer I got the disc from, so Genuine Advantage calls it "pirated". I traced it to e-machines who wouldn't give me a new code. Would the Windows 7 upgrade finally give me a legit operating system or would I ahve to get the full Windows 7 version? ...or does anyone know how to network two "pirated" XP computers with an X-Box?

Every other day or so I'm talking trash to some uppity little dork on YoVille and all of a sudden they start talking like they're the greatest hacker that ever lived and then crash flash player. Any ideas how it's done? Any ideas how I can prevent it (for me and everyone in the room)?
1 AnswerFacebook1 decade agoWill my car make it this far?
I need to make a roughly 700 mile trip both ways this week. I have a '99 Dodge Intrepid that runs fine, but sluggish. 113K miles on it. Air temperatures should be between 30 and 40 degrees on the whole path. I haven't had ANY problems with the car for almost two years and sort of paranoid that my luck is about to run out. lol Any advice?
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoCan I use an old water heater as a fire pit?
I have a lot of junk to burn, don't want to use my grill, and don't want to dig a hole. Could I wheel my old water heater out.to the yard and burn junk in that? Will it hold up to the flames?
4 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoIs the condom too tight or something else?
This is a serious question and although I may sound like I'm tooting my own horn through this, It's really not an ego boost in any way. I just ended a two year streak without sex, but have a new girlfriend and now it's a daily thing. I'm using the same condoms I've always used but for some reason they hurt when I put them on. I do go limp ridiculously easily and even though I can keep it up and orgasm, I'm having trouble with the fluids. Like sometimes I can orgasm, but can't ejaculate. And I keep getting this tearing sensation in the urethra that (until convinced otherwise) I blame on fluids being forced back in because they can't escape. IT HURTS!!
So yeah, I'm blaming it on the condoms, but if anyone has another idea, I'd like to hear it.
8 AnswersMen's Health1 decade agoNetworking with an "illegitimate" operating system?
My girlfriend has Vista and I have two computers with XP sp3. The router seems to work fine, but Microsoft keeps telling me that my operating system is illegitimate. It WAS a legitimate boot disc when I bought it, but after I built a new computer and got rid of the old, Microsoft won't accept it. Instead they send me to a Windows 7 site and try to sell me it. Forget microsoft. I'm making my gf's laptop with Vista the main computer, but how do I get it so my "illegitimate" version of XP to work on the network? I tried downloading some software specific to my problem, but Microsoft refuses to validate it. ...just want me to buy Windows 7... And now that I think of it, a link to how to really network computers would be nice. I might be overlooking something really obvious.
5 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoWhere do I get bots to use for online games?
I don't need anything special. Just something to sign on while I'm at work and sleeping, spend 20 seconds to make some money, and sign off. I hear firefox has an app like that, but have no idea. Any suggestions?
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhy is cheating so bad, ladies?
I mean, I get that he's a bastard to do it and it hurts and all... but why carry the anger over into your next relationship? And why do you feel it's justified when you cheat? Seriously, it seems like every woman I date has been cheated on and I'm not even allowed to talk to my mom on the phone without getting a suspicious look. The paranoia and jealousy really ruins it all. And the one time I know of that I've been cheated on I got the excuse "I didn't want to tell you because I was afraid you'd dump me." WELL DUH!! "Bye, hoe!" and I was done with. It was really that easy.
So yeah-- I'm an inch away from a vow of celibacy, so any insight into this matter would be nice.
2 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoHow long does engine oil last?
I just checked my lawn mower and found that the oil was still crystal clear and full. However, it's two years old. I have a small yard and only mow every other week (40 hours put into this machine, max) Is the oil still good?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoAny ideas for an online date?
I don't mean that I'm looking into online dating. I'm saying my significant other is out of town and having a bad week. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything a couple could do online together that could be like a date. Like a virtual tour of Hawaii or something. So like a "date" only online. Any ideas?
5 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWord processor cursor annoyance?
I'm not even sure how to put it in words. I like the setup in these online boxes where the cursor just goes where you put it and let's you add... as opposed to selecting whatever character you go to and deleting the next one so you end up rewriting everything because you make on mistake. What the hell is that and how the hell do I turn it off? I dropped microsoft office for Open Office to eliminate this problem, but now it's back. Is it a virus
I don't want to learn how to use it. I hate it. Hate it hate it hate it. Just want to stop it. :)
2 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoMotherboard won't let me boot from disk. How do I change it?
I've been having a lot of computer problems and replacing the motherboard seemed to fix it. However, in one attempt to weed out a suspected software problem, a friend of mine booted a pirated version of XP. Naturally, when I found out that it was a hardware issue, I wanted to reboot my original operating system, but when the computer starts it goes to the motherboard's main screen instead of booting from the disk. How do I fix that?
3 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoFirst aid (and possible cause) for a dog?
My dog keeps getting scraped on her right front leg. I think it just takes off hair since there's no blood, but this is the second time in a month this has happened and I have no idea how. Should I give her bandages and ointment or is her saliva really all she needs? (this was my predicament last time and since she just chewed off her bandage, the saliva seemed to do the trick) I've looked for sharp edges or anything that could have done it all over the house, deck and backyard where her chain (coated wire rope) is, but nothing. Any ideas?
