  • Shampoos and conditioners without Cetyl Alcohol or other coconut based products?

I have an allergy to coconut (and palm and most tree nuts) and I'm having trouble finding any shampoos or conditioners that don't set my allergy off.

    Do you know of any?

Do you have the same problem - what do you use?

(BTW I'm in the UK so a product I can get in the UK would be nice!)

Cetyl alcohol is sometimes also called Cetearyl alcohol.

  • Is it better to run a 15kw central heating boiler at full power or a 30kw boiler at half power?

'Better' in terms of cost (both over all and annual running costs), energy consumption and emissions.

We are replacing our boiler, some of the quotes have recommended a 15kW boiler and some a 30kW running at half power. I don't know which to trust and sadly no one has offered a middle option!

  • What size boiler would be good for my house?

I have a solid wall, end of terrace house near Leicester (in the UK), built in 1903. It has 3 bedrooms plus a loft conversion, 2 reception rooms, a hall and a kitchen. It's not exactly a big house but it does have 12 radiators!

Two plumbers have recommended a 30KW boiler and two have recommended a 15kw boiler. The boiler will be a condensing boiler but NOT a combi (we have a hot water tank). What KW size boiler do you think I need?

  • How long should a central heating boiler last?

We have a Gloworm condensing boiler, it's about 14 years old. It broke down this week (the internal fan seized) and when the boiler repair man came out he said it was "on a reduced parts list" and that boilers this old wouldn't be accepted onto service contracts. He advised us to get a new boiler this year. Should we listen to him or is it sales spin?

BTW the boiler is our only source of heating and hot water (there is no immersion heater on our tank).

  • Can pelvic floor exercises help with a vaginal prolapse and continence control?

My mum's hysterectomy was bungled, she now has little control on when she pees and has constant neuropathic pain, I keep saying "why not try exercising your pelvic floor" and every time the same excuses come up

    a) "I've had a hysterectomy, it wont work."

    b) "I have a sytaceal" (OK I have NO idea on the spelling of that one, I think it means a prolapse through the front wall of her vagina) "the muscle has given up already, it wont work."

    c) "I have neuropathic pain" (the poor lady is in a fair bit of discomfort) "it might make it worse".

    d) "I'm too old for them to have any effect"

All I want to know is are any of these excuses valid?

  • Which buggy board for my Graco Vivo?

I have a 2year old daughter and another due shortly. I love my Graco vivo and would like to use it for number 2 but I've not been able to find any recommendations as to what buggy board would fit.

I've been looking at Latif Seat2go, do you know if that would fit?

OR am I better off just getting a double buggy?

BTW I'm not very tall (160cms) will I be killing my back to reach over my toddler?

  • What is a good middle name for 'Milla'?

I'm pregnant with our second child. We don't know the gender but if it's a girl we'd like to call her 'Milla' or 'Mila' (haven't decided on a spelling yet). What do you think would be a good middle name? Ideally we'd like something more 'popular' (we are in the UK) so that if they grow up hating Mila they can switch to using that name.

For reference 'Grace' is out of the question as that is our other little girl's middle name. Also our surname is very long and double-barrelled so something short would be good.

    Thanks for your help!

  • I'd like to call my baby Mila (if it's a girl) but how would you pronounce it?

I'd like to call my baby Mila (if it's a girl) but how would you pronounce it?

Miller?? (as in the person who opperates a wind or water mill)

    Meela???

    Or something else?

I prefer the pronounciation 'meela' but if I ran you up and said 'her name is Mila' how would you write that down?

    Am I being over sensitive??

    Constructive answers only please!!

    Many thanks for your help!

  • where can I find a list of all the chemicals that can be derived from coconut or palm?

I have a tree nut allergy that extends to coconut and palm. Unfortunately I don't have to eat it to get an allegric reaction, just touch it. Even worse lots of soap and personal care products contain chemicals derived from coconut. If I could find a list at least I would know what to look for (and avoid) in the ingrdients!

  • I want a Spanish girl's name with flower meaning! (Help, before my husband calls her Alice!)?

We have one daughter called Rosa (I won that argument!) and I'm pregnant again. I'd like another Spanish/Latino sounding name, preferably with a flower meaning but my husband has ruled out calling her Margarette, Daisy or Dahlia. Can you suggest a suitable name? Also it would help if it was short as our surname/family is 14 letters long!! Thanks.xx
