Jews or Christians, from the Bible: would you agree that obey God that is Submit to God is the theme?
in the previous series of questions that ended here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201011...
It seems that love and obey God and do his will is the final culmination of the theme of God expects from us; well isn't this what you may call submit to God so the word submission sums up the theme of all that we had discussed and it entails and includes all the different understandings from the various readers.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians and Jews - in the Bible - Would you say the theme from God is Obey?
in a continuation to the previous series that ended here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201011...
we have concluded that in the many answers form the reader the following words:
Obey, Keep, Repent, Loved, Acknowledge, Convert etc.
I would safely assume that God expects from us to obey Him in what advices He gives us in order for us to be in harmony with the universe which is all in obedience to God.
Would you say Obey and Obedience is the Key word after all this, what do you think?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians and Jews - in the Bible - What was the main theme of Commands from God?
In my previous serios of questions ending here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201011...
I was trying to come up with a name for the set of instructions that God commanded the humans to follow. But it seems the major answers were not focusing on this point
and gave general or specific statements.
But we have reached that there were many words used such as
Obey God
Keep the commandment
Walk with God
Personal relationship with God
Repent and obey
the path of the righteous
Loved God
Had God in every aspect of life
Godly man
Acknowledge God
Teach to do your will
Familiar with Adam's story
So I believe if the theme is Love then it woud be the religion of Love so we are lovable or loving :)
If the theme is Obey then it is the religion of obedience thus we would be called The Obedient, makes more sense.
If the theme is Keep and Keep the do's ad don't's then it is the religion of Keeps and we would be called the keepers. and similarly walk = walker: not really, righteous: maybe, acknowledgers, teachers, repenters.
repenters this is a word that describes us as a matter of fact Yehud (Jew) is related to this.
There is a word that does not show very much but also repent and convert so are we converters :)
So what do you think guys what is the most perfect word that describes people who repent and convert back and submit to the Will of God and Obey his commandments and follow his instructions so that you have God in all aspects of your life.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoJews or Christians, from the Bible: what is the meaning of a Jew?
How did word come about? What is the root word for it? How did it develop to be what it is today?
references please this is a continuation to serions of question here:
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians and Jews - in the Bible - What was the religion of Adam?
This is the fifth question of similar question please refere to the previous one here
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201011...
From the previous question we could observe that the answers circled around:
Walk/love/acknowledge God and obeying him and having him in every aspect of our life on the path of the righteous who follow your will to be Godly man like Adam
How does one do all these things.
Is it what God told Adam to do, what did He tell him to do or to be so that he becomes a Godly man.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians and Jews - in the Bible - What was the religion of Noah?
This is the fourth question in the serions. Previous question is:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtEea...
You can see from answers to the previous question that readers are not differentiating between race, culture, people, etc.
In the day of Abraham people around had all sorts of identities and belief system. Abraham detached himself from these people and called for a new brand of faith. If he was asked what do you believe in he would have to make a long list of items that separated him from others. Not every time he would repeat this, he had a title for his cause and a brand name, what was it? No one had an answer.
Now I am asking what was it for Noah. it should be easier as Noah propagated to one nation who were probably idolators and surely sinners. What did he call them for the worship of one God obviously but how did he differentiate himself. were they called Noahians I strongly doubt it. So what was he calling for? The Name of the message set of faith items or practice?
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians and Jews - in the Bible - What was the religion of Abraham?
What did Abraham call for, what was his message? What did he tell his followers to become or practice? Please, give reference from the Bible to support your claim.
This is a third question please see 2nd here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtEea...
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoJews or Christians, from the Bible: what was the religion of Moses?
This is a coninuation to my previous question on Jesus
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201011...
So what did Moses call his people to become, to profess, or practice? What was his original message called? I am sure that he did not call them to be Jewish.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat was the religion of Jesus?
I mean what did he call people to believe in? what did he call his message?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians - in the Bible - About Lot and his daughters!?
God had blessed Lot as being a good man and saved him from the evil doers.
God sent angels to to do the job. Lot was taken out. However, his daughters soon they feel desperate to have children and they do what they do. Their excuse is that there are no men around.
In my study of such biblical stories, while, reading and since I am not constrained by faith, I get the following questions in my mind:
Well, why did not God tell Lot to go to Babel to marry from their relatives like he told Isaac and Jacob after him?
Is incest a lesser crime than what Sodom and Gomorrah did?
Didn't Lot question his daughters about the carrying? Or it did not matter?
What kind of morality are we to get out of this story?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIn the Bible, why did Noah Curse Canaan while Ha, was the one who wronged?
In Genesis 9:20–25 the story of Noah getting drunk and Ham sees his nakedness. Why would Noah curse Canaan and not Ham?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIn the Bible, Genesis, about Adam and Eve story. Why was it snake that was mentioned in the story?
Where is the devil in all that?
Did he camouflage himself in a snake? Then why punish a snake?
Did he incite the snake to do that? Why God did not reprimand the devil then?
