  • How do we KNOW that the earth is NOT going to end in 2012?

There has been alot of talk about 2012. Many feel that the world is going to end in December of that year. How can we know, by what the Bible says, that the earth is NOT going to be destroyed in 2012?

What does the Bible mean when it DOES speak about the end of the world? Is the "world" the same as the "earth"?

Please use scriptures in your answer.

  • If God cannot die or lie, what does that say about Jesus?

Please read the following scriptures and give me your HONEST opinion on what the Bible is saying. Can the Bible be trusted, or is it NOT RIGHT when it says these things about Jesus?

(Romans 5:8) 8 But God recommends his own love to us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

(Romans 6:9) For we know that Christ, now that he has been raised up from the dead, dies no more; death is master over him no more.

(Romans 8:34) Christ Jesus is the one who died, yes, rather the one who was raised up from the dead, who is on the right hand of God, who also pleads for us.

(1Thessalonians 4:14) For if our faith is that Jesus died and rose again, so, too, those who have fallen asleep [in death] through Jesus God will bring with him.

(2Timothy 2:8) 8 Remember that Jesus Christ was raised up from the dead and was of David’s seed, according to the good news I preach

(Romans 1:4) but who with power was declared God’s Son according to the spirit of holiness by means of resurrection from the dead—yes, Jesus Christ our Lord

Did Jesus lie when he said the following?

(John 17:1,3) Jesus spoke these things, and, raising his eyes to heaven, he said: “FATHER, the hour has come; glorify your son, that your son may glorify you, 3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

(John 20:17) Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.’”

(Mark 13:32) “Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father. (Of course, that would not be the case if Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were coequal, comprising one Godhead. And if, as some suggest, the Son was limited by his human nature from knowing, the question remains, Why did the Holy Spirit not know?)

(Matthew 12:31-32) “On this account I say to YOU, Every sort of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the spirit will not be forgiven. 32 For example, whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the holy spirit, it will not be forgiven him, no, not in this system of things nor in that to come. (If the Holy Spirit were a person and were God, this text would flatly contradict the Trinity doctrine, because it would mean that in some way the Holy Spirit was greater than the Son. Instead, what Jesus said shows that the Father, to whom the “Spirit” belonged, is greater than Jesus, the Son of man.)

(John 14:28) YOU heard that I said to YOU, I am going away and I am coming [back] to YOU. If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

    Further, look at these scriptures:

(1 Corinthians 11:3) But I want YOU to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn the head of a woman is the man; in turn the head of the Christ is God. (It should be noted that this was written about 55 C.E., some 22 years after Jesus returned to heaven. So is this the truth here stated in the BIBLE as it applies to the relationship between God and Christ in heaven? Or is Jesus equal to God as many PEOPLE say he is?)

(1 Corinthians 15:24-28) Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. 25 For he must rule as king until [God] has put all enemies under his feet. 26 As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing. 27 For [God] “subjected all things under his feet.” But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that it is with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him. 28 But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.

  • My bosses son just got married in the Catholic Church?

but he was living with his girlfriend for over a year before they got married. Why is this ok with the Catholic church when the Bible speaks against people having relations before marriage?

And yes the priest DID know that they where living together.

I see this all the time though in the Catholic faith. Why is it ok to NOT listen to what the Bible says, when it is so clear?

Is tradition and universal acceptance MORE IMPORTANT than God's word the Bible?

  • If evolution is true, and we all came from apes or some other lower life form?

can you tell me when the process of evolution STOPPED. If evolution was real then we should see LIVING evidence of it everywhere today. Where are the things that are evolving right now? If we evolved from apes, why are there still apes in the world? Wouldn't they have all evolved into higher beings? And why don't we see some evolving right now? Shouldn't there be "cave men" living somewhere on the earth today?

If there is NO living evidence of evolution today, wouldn't that mean that we are created?

    Your thoughts. Thank you

  • When Jesus comes back, will we be able to SEE him?

I ask because at John 14:19 it says of Jesus "A little longer and the world will behold me no more."

And at John 6:51: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread he will live forever; and, for a fact, the bread that I shall give is my flesh in behalf of the life of the world.”

If Jesus gave up his flesh for us, and the world will not behold him any more, will we be able to SEE him? If not, how will we know that he is here? Has he come already?

  • Trinitirians, what does 1Corinthians 15:24-28 mean to you?

(NWT) (1Corinthians 15:24-28) 24 Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power.

Verse 28 reads in different translations like this:

(NIV) When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made SUBJECT to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

(Living Bible) When Christ has finally won the battle against all his enemies, then he, the Son of God, will put himself also under his Father's orders, so that God who has given him the victory over everything else will be utterly supreme.

(KJV) And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

(RSV) When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things under him, that God may be everything to every one.

(NEB) and when all things are thus subject to him, then the Son himself will also be made subordinate to God who made all things subject to him, and thus God will be all in all.

  • If Hell is a place of eternal punishment for all the wicked?

and Satan is the worst of the worst, the most wicked one around,

why is it than that Satan became the "leader" in Hell? Wouldn't he become the one that is held in solitary confinement, separate from everyone else? Isn't that what they do here, separate the really bad away from the others?

And who created such a place as Hell, with a fire that never goes out?

When was it created, since man was made to live forever?

  • Stephen Colbert asked, Don't you ever feel like not enough Judaism questions are asked on here?

So I ask, you are still waiting for the promised seed of Abraham from the line of David the King. How are you to KNOW that anyone really is that promised seed since all the genealogical records were destroyed in 70 CE?

I have never been able to get this question answered in a full sense. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob went to alot of trouble to keep the records in the Holy writings so that anyone that made the claim of being the promised seed could prove their claim.

How can that proof come about now, and all the details be fulfilled that the promised seed would do?

I want to thank you for your answers in advance.

  • If everyone really lives on after death, what was the point of the ransom of Jesus?

Some say that people like Abraham, Moses, and John the baptizer all went to heaven when they died. So what was the point of Jesus coming to earth and being put to death for us? If all good people go to heaven, what is the need for Jesus as a ransom?

Isn't the ransom supposed to be for us so that we might live again? But if we never REALLY die, doesn't that make the ransom useless?

And would that ransom really mean anything if, after 3 days, Jesus took back what he gave as a ransom, his body?

If I was to pay a ransom to someone to get something back from them, and then took back that very ransom that I paid, doesn't that make the transaction null and void?

  • Who really should be Baptized?

Jesus said that disciples (taught ones) should be baptized.

Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”

And (1Peter 2:21) says: In fact, to this [course] YOU were called, because even Christ suffered for YOU, leaving YOU a model for YOU to follow his steps closely.

Who really is following Jesus' footsteps closely, and what is it that we should be taught to become true disciples of Jesus?

And since "disciples" are to be baptized, does that mean that those who practice baby baptism are not following Jesus commands, since babies cannot KNOW who Jesus is?

  • What happened to Abraham after he died?

Abraham was called God's friend, but he was born over 2,000 years before Jesus came to the earth as a ransom for us. Since Jesus could not atone for Abraham's adamic sin at the time of his death, what happened to God's friend after he died?

He could not go to heaven, since Jesus died for us almost 2,000 years later. Would God send his friend to a burning hell? What really happened to Abraham?

Please use scriptural references if possible, and show what the Bible really teaches.

  • Question for those who believe in the Trinity, how does 1Corinthians 15:20-28 fit in with your beliefs?

    (1Corinthians 20-28) reads

20 However, now Christ has been raised up from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep [in death]. 21 For since death is through a man, resurrection of the dead is also through a man. 22 For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each one in his own rank: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who belong to the Christ during his presence. 24 Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power.

So after Christ is raised to heavenly life, and after all enemies have been placed under his feet, he then turns everything over to his GOD and FATHER and then subjects himself to GOD.

How can God subject himself to himself and give himself what he already has?

I saw an answer that said that there were other CHRISTIAN religions besides Jehovah's Witnesses that do not believe in the trinity. I would like to know what religions those are, since I have not heard of any. Please include any details you can in your answer.

I know that there are many non-christians that do not believe in the trinity, so please do not include them.
