Hi I have Bipolar and I would like to try for a baby but I need IVF and a donor egg will I be able to do IVF and get NHS funding for this with my bipolar.

If you are only employed as bank staff on a casual as and when needed basis will I need sick note from GP or can I just say I am not available for work.

I am not going to be fit for work for a few weeks i havent got any shifts booked in yet so could I just call and say i am not available for a few weeks.

I work in a care home and at the monent im signed of sick my certifcare runs out friday. When i was first signed off I talked to my boss and decided when I return I will change my contract and go on bank staff so a zero hour contract my boss said to ring her when my certifcate runs out and I have seen my GP.

Well as i said it runs out friday and im seeing my GP then to.

Anyway my question is I was going to wait till next tuesday aftee new year before I ring her insted of friday I would rather not doing do any work till the new year anyway. Would it be ok to wait or should i call friday. As i said my contract is zero hour so I dont have to work.

Hi im waiting for a start date for a new job could be any day I have been ringing them regularly and told them im ready to start to right away as im not working at the mo.

Anway I basically called them fri and they said it shouldnt be to much longer at all now just waiting for DBS check then I can start.

After this I was a bit fed up as I just want to get started and after tracking my dbs it could be a bit longer the job is in care home so i need it to start.

Yesterday I thought Im going to make the most of my time off and as it looks like im not starting this week as in tommrow I booked to go away for the night wed as its my bf birthday and made plans for fri.

I am now worried and feel a bit silly incase they do want me start later on in week I now cant and it will be next monsay 26th before im free should I ring them tommrow and tell them it just wait to see if they call me about starting.

I am waiting to start new job I got offered 2 weeks ago (7th Sep) in care so before I start I need to have DBS and references back.I phoned them today and they said they have got references back so waiting for DBS check to be returned so hopefully it will be very soon and they will ring me and get my started as soon as its back. they said they had done a POVA check known as adults first check which they have paided extra for, I didn't know what they meant by this but when I looked it up it means that when they do the DBS check and get to the stage where they check that I am not banned from working with elderly people they then email the home and let them know its clear so I can start before I get the DBS certificate as this can take a while. 

I phoned the DBS to find out how far along my application is and they said they haven't got it

My question is how long will it take for them to get it? it was posted Thursday (last week the 8th) and how long will it take for them to do the adult first check is this done first? I cant start this coming week I am available from the 26th and im worried if things are done to quickly they may want me to start before then like the end of this coming week if they do will it look bad to say im sorry as its sort notice I cant start till 26th. I havent told them I cant start till 26th cause they not ready for me yet should I tell them or wait till they ask me about starting im worried it looks bad to say I cant start when they ask

So I have been in my job since september last year so 8 months, over this time I havent been too well and I have been off 8 times!! I know this isnt good.

I do have a medical condidtion that i didt tell them about at first but they are now aware and have cut my hours and changed my shift patterens to help me.

I have been given and put on a attendence improvment programme and have been told I need to improve my attendence fast and im having monthly with the boss this all happened about a month ago.

My worry is im due on a late shift tommrow so i start at 2pm and at the moment I feel awful bad tummy pain and sick! So im panicking that i will be too ill for work tommrow!! It says on the warning I got and he told my that If my attendence doesnt improve the future wont look so promising!

My trail period was 6 months so im pass it but i havent been signed of yet but havent beeb told my probation period has extended but im guessing it has. Help what should i do im scared they will sack me! Can they do this or will they have to give me a final warning.

My mum and dad where both ill with sickness over the weekend! I wasnt here much went to my boyfriend friday evening and came back sunday afternoon. We not sure what caused not sure if its a bug or stress cause my grandad really poorly.

I have just been off work for 2 weeks cause i had an operation im due back thursday and im really worried i will catch it i canr afford to have anymore time off work sick om already on a mangment attendence programme and got a written warning! If i was going to catch it would i have caught it by now? Thanks

I work shift work in a care home my boss crossed me off the rota before i went in and put me down to return for my first shift thursday but sick note out tuesday so im due bk wed he must know this cause i took my notes up to him but he didnt say anything should i just go bk thursday or call and ask him about this. I got a friend to double check rota and it said off till thursday.

He did give the chance to do an extra shift next week to make up the hours im going to lose this week, so im guessing cause of the rota already being done he dont need me wed

Im going in hosiptal for an operation im down for afternoon surgery so i can eat till 7am tommrow then i can drink clear fluids till 10.30 then nothing till after. I was wondering between 7am abd 10am when i can only drink clear fluids could i have clear jelly? Thanks

OK so I'm a care assistant in a care home I started last September and since then I have been off sick 5 times!! 1st time I went into work and went home early and had the rest of the day and the next day off this was due to a chest infectionm 2nd time again got sent home cause I was sick the 3rd time I had a week off and got signed of by my gp 4th time 2 days cause I was in hospital 5th time 3 days cause I was sick again this was over new year. Anyway I had last week off as anua leave and I'm due on shift tomorrow but I feel really ill again I have bad stomach pains! I have trouble with my tummy ibs and bad reflux but work dont know about this. I'm hoping it will clear up by morning but I'm really worried about having to call in sick again!

I got 1 month left of my probation period and I'm worried they will sack me! We just got a new manager come into the home and he pulling people up for bad sickness! I'm really scared that haven't said anything about my sickness yet but if I'm off tomorrow will they sack me or talk to me first help please.

I started my job a few months I have been off 4 times and a total 10 days off First time I got sent home early so had the rest of the day and the next day off 2nd time again got sent home and just had that 1 day off 3rd time I was off for 5 days but got a doctors note and the last time just 2 days cause I was in hospital over night this was 2 weekends ago.

Anyway I'm really worried cause I know how bad this look 10 days over 4 occasions in a couple of months I love my job its just I'm the sort of person that picks up anything and tend to go though periods of being ill all the time Work haven't said anything about me being ill I have just gone back and nobody has said a word but I'm still on my 6 month trial period which is up in February im worried they wont keep me on

Today is my day off I work in a care home so I work shifts I'm doing a 12 hour shift tomorrow my last shift before xmas but Im feeling ill again today!!! and I'm really worried about to ill for tomorrow and them thinking im just messing around as its xmas eve any ideas how i can make them believe me I'm so fed up of keep being ill and getting really down about but I eat well get lots of exercise plenty of sleep I have talked to my GP about it and she has done a few tests and said its just one of those things as I said this is nothing new and I have been like before then pick up and go ages without being ill. do you think they will get rid of me in February or would they talk to me

I started a new job on the 1st September since I started have been off 3 time's total 10 days.

I went back last Thursday done 3 night shifts after being signed off by the doctor for 7 days.

lot of sickness is down to depression I had a history of depression a few years back but been fine for a year now so I started to cut down my antidepressions few momths ago anf basically had a relaps and have had to go back up to 50mg. My work dont know about my history and being on meds cause when I was offerd the job I was feeling a lot better and coming off the meds, so they just think I have sick 3 time's in the last 2 weeks! I just told them I had been sick everytime I was having trouble with tunmy the doc put on my sick which I wasn't at all. I was off cause he was some tests not stress or anything because he did do some blood test as I has been feeling very tired so thought he would be safe but said it was probably the meds being cut and not coping well bloods came bk fine so that what it is. Anyway I'm due back in work tommrow on days I work in a care home and do 3 12 hours shifts but I now do actually have a funny tummy guess that what I get for lieing But I didnt no what else to say and didn't feel up to explainin everything anyway what do I do if I'm still ill tomorrow and it's leads to sickness? What do I say I'm scared I'm going to get the sack only be there 2 months and 10 days is really I did say a bit in thursday about depression but not much any help
