Why do people tip so poorly?
I have worked as a server for almost 5 years now through college. The most frustrating thing to me is when I give people the best of myself to my guests and they leave me a raunchy tip.
I dont think people understand how much work goes into waiting tables. Some places are harder than others because they require sidework like maintaining your section, rolling silverware, expo-ing food, cleaning and bussing tables etc....
People will come in and order a lunch special for 5.99 then sit at your table for an hour and a half then leave a $1 tip or so. That is simply unacceptable. People should know servers make $2.13 an hour and we don't get paychecks because that $2.13 an hour goes to pay taxes.
If people don't have the money to tip, or don't appreciate the service servers give to them than why dont they just go to mc donalds where they can eat cheap and not worry about a tip!???????? (And save my butt an hour of time waiting on them)

11 AnswersOther - US Dining Out1 decade agoCan my landlord charge me for electricity after I have moved out?
So, my fiance and I lived in a small 2 bedroom home for about 8 months. During that time we paid our landlord for electricity because we could not afford to get it into our own name. After moving out we realized we never got credited our deposit on the house, and when asked the landlord why we didnt get any of our deposit back she told us that we had to pay electricity for the month after we moved out because of all the cleaning that had to be done there and it didnt get rented out. Even though, the house was spotless when we left. Legally can she deduct that electric bill from our deposit if we were not living there and had already signed a lease on a new home? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I am completely overwhelmed by this lady! GRRR lol
