My room mate worked at Wal-mart for 3 months. Said he got fired last week because it was before his benefits came in. Said he was temporary staff and they had mass layoffs after black friday.

He's a slacker, and I think he was fired because he's incapable of holding a job. It's the holiday season at wal-mart, and they are understaffed.

The reason why it's MY concern is because he says he can't pay rent for a while. But I think he's trying to take time off and get me to pay for it.

Is there anyway I can find out whether he's lying?

I pay for the internet connection entirely, but I let my roommates use it on the guideline that they will not download huge stuff when I need to use the connection. Well, my connection speed is awful, and I suspect they are downloading huge stuff. I need to restrict their access, because talking to them isn't working.

1. How do I monitor how much bandwidth each user is using on my network?

2. How do i restrict exactly how much bandwidth they are allowed at a time?

I have heard that fruit juices can be like battery acid on your teeth. I drink a lot of naked juice for lunch. How bad is it for my teeth? Should I really brush my teeth after each drink?

So I have used nair before but for some reason I used it on Friday and it just BURNED my skin instantly. I washed it off but it was red and inflamed and today (Monday) it's stiff and red. I'm using neosporin triple antibiotics on it three times a day and washing it with warm water.

Is there anything else I should do to treat it?

We're trying to do the free trial. When he goes to the fileplanet site to download the trial, it forces him to get the EU version. Can Europeans not play with Americans on that game?

He's trying to download the US client from someone directly, but it'll take a week or so (2gb) and there's no guarantee it'll work.

I know we used to play together years ago. We wanted to check FFXI as sort of a walk down memory lane from 2002 or whenever it came out. I'm sure we played it together though.

I want my cursor to move across the screen with less movement from my mouse, but I can't find the option in Vista. Any help? Thanks!

I have a text file that has a list of numbers separated by spaces, like so:

10 29 2 39 22 838 77 1 20 55 10 (etc)

I want to read this file and copy each number to an element in an int array. Right now I have used FileInputStream to open my file, then DataInputStream and then BufferedReader to read and hold my input... I have it just posting to the screen right now as a placeholder to make sure my input is getting read properly.

Which reads it as a string... and that's OK... I was originally thinking maybe I could read it as a string and then tokenize it and convert it to int and stuff each token in an array...

But there's gotta be a better way. Is there any way I can just open the file, assume it's a list of ints (because it always will be), grab the 1st number (delineated by space) and stuff it in an element in the int array and run through it as a while loop or something?

Specifically, how do I read ints from a text file and put them in an array? Any help is very appreciated... this has been frustrating me for a while.

I feel terrible. It may be food poisoning or the norovirus (which is going around here) but I threw up everything last night after dinner and went to bed. Woke up this morning, felt ok, so ate breakfast. BAD IDEA.

I took 2 pepto chewables after breakfast to try to soothe my stomach right when I realized the nausea was back. My stomach is now in a lot of pain and nausea. I can barely sit up to type this, but if I lie down I also get sick, so I'm just miserable. I feel like i need to throw up but I can't. I sit there at the toilet waiting, but nothing happens, and I just feel worse.

Should I get ipecac and induce vomiting? My only other symptoms are chills. I suspect it was food poisoning because I got sick 30 minutes after eating dinner last night. But I don't know. Oh yeah, and no, I'm not pregnant, that's definite.

I have an xbox in the living room and one in the bedroom. I have a gold membership to xbox live. I downloaded some songs to play rockband, which I have on the living room xbox. Can I access these songs on my bedroom xbox using my windows live account or do I need to do a license transfer? If so, that means I can't play them on the living room xbox, right? Or does it just follow my gamertag?

When I signed up for DirecTV in Sept 08, the rep told me that I'd get a 75 gift card as a promo offer. I just called to see where the offer was, and they're saying it never existed. So now I'm mad, not because I didn't get my card, but because they lied.

If I cancel my account with them, it will cost $480-$20/month right? Which means now it's $380. What about my boxes? I'm leasing several boxes and a DVR. Do I get charged for those too?

I plan to move to an apartment in August because the house where I live now is not going to be rented out by the landlord next year. My new apartment forbids satellite. I don't suppose they take that into consideration at DirecTV, do they?

I bought a $20 xbox 360 points card from walmart for rock band this week. I entered the code in and it won't work. It just says "invalid". Aren't these activated when scanned at the checkout, or do they have to do something special?? I wasn't watching her scan them, I was putting other stuff on the belt.

I found my Walmart receipt with the card on it. In addition to being listed among my other items, it displays the points card on the very top of the receipt the card amount and the card #. Does that mean it was activated?

I need to know that it's not my TV being fuzzy on the code display because otherwise I have to drive all the way back to walmart which is a bit of a drive..

Every 12 hours or so for the past 2 days, I have had severe abdominal pain just below the ribcage and above the belly button in the center of my abdomen. Area of pain is the size of my hand.

The onset is very sudden and severe and I am unable to get comfortable in any position I try. The first time lasted 30-45 minutes, the second one lasted 2.5 hours and this one is ongoing but is now on 30 minutes.

I have no appetite, can't pass gas, wish I could throw up but can't, no stool for 2 days. Any large movement above my waist like raising my arms or breathing deeply hurts. I get cold chills through my body and feel weak during the pain.

No chance of pregnancy. Heart rate is 97 and blood pressure is 127 over 85 during the pain. No fever. I tried drinking milk to see if it was an ulcer but it's not subsiding. Today I ate at 2pm and got the pain at 6pm, yesterday I ate at 9pm and got the pain at 3pm. The time before that I ate at 7pm and got the pain at 11pm.

I have tried pepto bismol and milk and tums but I don't think it's working.

I am on vacation so I'm not near home but plan to see a doctor ASAP. Any advice is appreciated. I'm going to try to lie down until it stops again. Thank you.

My sister and her fiance recently got rid of their old roommates who trashed the house and treated them like garbage. The old roommates came to the house and were acting very threatening and so my sister decided to get a restraining order so it wouldn't happen again.

She went to the court house to file for a restraining order but since she doesn't know their new address (the old room mates refused to give a forwarding address so they could avoid getting charged with damages to the house) the court said she couldn't file for a restraining order. The court said she should call the police if they come over again, which of course she will do, but then there is also the problem of retaliation.

She can't move, her fiance's mother owns the home and they are renting from her (paid through February). She's worried about their pets when she's not home.

What should she do? Is it true that you must know the person's address if they are to be served papers? Isn't that sort of a huge loop hole?

1. He is giving us 1 week notice that he is moving out.

2. He never signed the lease. I gave it to him to send to the landlord but he never did it (I didn't know).

3. He's a bad roommate. He smokes pot (my other roommate is in the military so if it's in his system it can be detected), he is constantly late paying bills (3 months late at times) and he is intolerably passive-aggressive.

4. Other facts: Lease ends in 7 months. State of Iowa. Everyone paid $500 deposit. I paid the deposit for everyone when we signed the lease, and the roommates gave me their portion.

My questions:

- Are we (the remaining roommate and I) obligated to give him the deposit back?

- If we refuse to give him the deposit back, do we have a good defense if he takes this to court?

- Is there anything we should do as a precaution aside from changing the locks?

Helpful comments and advice is really appreciated. I've never had to deal with this king of situation before.

My room mate has an xbox 360 and I want to download some songs for rock band.

If I have an xbox live account on his xbox and download some songs to his harddrive, when I get my own xbox later on, will I have to re-purchase those songs in order to have them on my own harddrive?

My rent is due on the 1st and is considered late on the 10th of the month. This month, the 1st was Saturday. I don't mail a check - I write a check and deposit it directly to their bank account in person to save my landlord time. I deposited the check on Monday the 3rd, and I have already received an email from my landlord complaining that the rent is due and giving me this lecture about how important it is for them to receive rent on time. I cannot open banks on Saturday, and I certainly won't pay before the 1st. I get paid on the 1st.

How can I politely tell my landlord to give me a break? It's late on the 10th and I can't open the banks on a weekend, and I'm doing them a favor by depositing it for them?

Don't tell me to move, trust me, I would if I could.

I am looking for the $189.99 version of the guitar hero world tour band kit that includes the drums. I have checked amazon, ebgames, toysRus, walmart, newegg, target, bestbuy, circuit city, buy.com... and some other places I can't recall.

I understand if it's sold out and I'm too late, that's ok because I don't have time to play it for a bit anyway. But, does anyone know...

1. Is there a place where I can order it for ~190 online without a 50 "s&h charge"?

2. Will they be selling the drums separately since you can buy the guitars & game now?

I have cable (20 MBPS) and a Belkin wireless N Plus router. Whenever anyone on the network goes to a webpage, it refuses to load until it's refreshed. It also has a problem with running certain programs, like instant messengers. It is also incredibly slow, which is very frustrating considering it should be 20 mbps. It takes up to 30 seconds to load google's main page, for example. Often it will refuse to load a page upon first request, but if you refresh again or a couple times, it will work. Some pages work always, such as my university's webpage, but others always fail upon first and second requests, such as youtube.

I think this is a firewall issue, but since it affects the entire network, I think it is a router firewall problem. However, in my Belkin manual settings list, the router firewall can be on or off and it still has this problem.

Setup---

- Belkin Router N Plus (brand new)

- 1 wired connection (XP), 2 wireless connections (Vista? Unknown, my roommates are not home at the moment so I can't ask them.)

Security mode: WPA/WPA2-Personal PSK (Tested off, no luck)

Router Firewall: On (Tested off, no luck)

Personal Windows Firewall: Turned on (Tested off, no luck)

Local Area Network 2 Windows Firewall: Turned off (Tested on and off)

The only thing that has had any effect on the network is turning off the Windows LAN Firewall... But randomly I will still have to reload pages.

Does anyone have any suggestions? If it's not my router's firewall and it's not my windows network firewall... what else could it be?

I have a bunch of pictures on my phone. I want them on my computer or somehow off of this phone so I can replace the phone. What's the best way to go about doing this? I don't have a memory card for it, so if that is the best option, how do I know which card to buy?
