I live with my Australian partner in Australia, and have done for 5 years. I have July off work and wish to visit my ageing parents and othorexic sister in England, as well as friends and other family. I haven't seen them since 2012.

I wish to go for a decent amount of time, about 2.5 weeks. I haven't had holiday in a long time, and this is a great opportunity.

My partner can get a week off work, and has stipulated we should travel together during her limited holiday. We have a friends wedding to attend, which would leave only 3 or 4 days with my parents.

It is possible for us to fly to England together, and for her to fly back on her own. I would then fly back about 9 days after that, giving me time with my family.

My partner is of the opinion we MUST travel together as we're partners. I feel I need to spend time with my family, I rarely get the time to see them, and I don't know how long they'll be around for. I feel she's been very selfish and it's upsetting.

Who's right? What points have merit?

I'm a software engineer, and over my career I've worked in a range of industries. A number of my roles have involved CRM software (customer relationship management). For the last few years I've worked as a consultant for a software vendor in a specific industry, with CRM software tailored to that industry Their software uses a technique defined by a seperate organisational body within the industry, which is something I've become an advocate of.

I left the company last month. For a couple of years I've seen much more potential in the technique and wish to create my own software. The software will have similarities with that of my previous company, given it will use the same technique defined by the organisational body. I wish to aim the software at the global market, not a specific industry. There will be a clear overlap and similarities with my previous company's software, but only because I would use the same technique.

What are my rights, and is this an infringement of any laws? I obviously don't want my previous company taking me to court. I wish to create my software as I see huge benefit with it.

I can get this relatively cheaply from my local Coles. Is it any good?

I've been feeding my dogs Beneful for a number of years and they've always seemed to like it, but I've heard it's really really bad for them. I started researching it and found petfoodratings.org which seems really good, but is it reliable for choosing the right food for my dogs? Can someone let me know if their reviews seem accurate? It seems focused on ingredients which I assume is a good thing?

Since I met my partner in 2009 I've led a horrible life. I absolutely adore her but she's completely irrational and very accusational.

After a long battle trying to make us work we've finally come to an end. She's absolutely convinced I'm having affairs with every female I meet, and has accused my of physically abusing her children which is far from true.

Her ex-husband had an affair with a friend of hers, and after 2 years being dragged through court managed to lose all they had. This could be a huge factor, but I don't think it's the cause. I'm certain her marriage came to an end because of the way she is.

Some examples:

From the start she had issues with my ex. She portrays my ex as a raging slut, lowlife, and no-hoper. She often accuses me of still being in love with her.

She's had issues with all women I know, and upset most of them by accusing them of random things.

She believed my parents were bad mouthing her, and after 6 months refusing to believe otherwise she accused them and really upset them.

She accused a work colleague of having an affair with me and really upset her. There was no evidence and the only time I'd spent time with the work colleague was on a work lunch.

She left me today because on Friday I went to a work dinner with colleagues. She convinced herself it was only me and a girl, despite me showing her the receipt with food obviously for a group.

There's a social aspect to my job which is unavoidable, and I've always included her where possible.

She has apologised once during our relationship. She never believes she's done anything wrong.

It takes months to make her see reason. Most of the time it's impossible. These are things that would be absolutely obvious if discussed with others.

She's upset friends and literally everyone I know. I'm embarrased by this.

She believes our life should be insular and I shouldn't have friends (especially female). She disregards my parents needs despite me moving from England to live with her in Australia.

Whenever I try to tell her how I feel about anything her immediate reaction is an accusation. I believe this is why she never sees anything rationally.

She will never accept fault on her person. She is clever and educated, but she also believes this so strongly she'll never accept others opinions if they differ from hers.

She often accuses me of things that are far from true, but will then do the same without consideration or realisation. For example, she accuses me of bad mouthing her behind my back, but will accuse me of affairs and child abuse to random people (including friends of mine who she doesn't know). More recently she puts stuff like this on Facebook.

On Facebook, she will add any woman who I have contact with. She's added people she's never met, even my next door neighbour who's twice our age and married.

For months she posts/shares quotes from Facebbok groups about cheating men, affairs, and untrustworthiness. She claims such posts are for the benefit of others and is adamant they're not about me and she can post what she likes. She doesn't realise such things are hurtful to me.

Many people ask me if I'm ok, if I've really had an affair or done such things which seem so clearly apparent from reading her page.

She's convinced herself I'm an absolutely horrible person. Only a few weeks ago I realised again that I wasn't, and never had been.

I know this all sounds horrible, which it is, but underneath it all she can be the most caring and wonderful person I've ever met. She's achieved so much which I admire her for, and despite the destructive mentality she's a fantastic person. She's the most beautiful woman I've ever known, and I still love her to bits. I know that I can't continue such a horrible life as its made me very ill at times, but after years of trying I can't make progress. She's caused so much damage to everyone in my life that I can't see anymore hope, but when I look at her I know I still love her so much.

At times I wonder if she has a psychological disorder. At other times I wonder if I do!? How can someone be so oblivious to reality?

I believe her ex was driven to having an affair, and when she found out and left him he was completely destroyed, for years, and had a heart attack. I feel like I could go down the same path if I'm not strong enough.

I'm a nice guy, educated, good job, with some charisma. I could move on and perhaps be happy, but it seems bleak.

There never seems to be much information about him and his partner Ellen Whitaker. I imagine he's just a modest private person so doesn't jump on the media band wagon.

I want to book my elderly 78 year old mother a flight from London to Perth (Australia) on Royal Brunei via Brunei airport. She's concerned about safety and also missing her connecting flight from being confused at the airport. Has anyone travelled via there and would it be ok for her?

Being a man I know very little about the pill. How long does it take to work before it's safe? Is it a matter of time, such as a week or a few weeks, or does it depend on periods? I assume there are different kinds of pills which work in different ways. I'm not talking about a morning after pill.

I'm going to New Zealand backpacking. I don't know how long I'll want to stay there for or where I'll go. As such I don't want to book an outbound flight. Will I have any trouble with immigration?

My girlfriend is in Perth, I'm in England until I can get a permanent visa (not easy these days)!

The theme is called Cloak of Night, but it doesn't mean anything to me. It looks very picturesque although I imagine it's been photoshopped. I'm looking for holiday ideas!!
