Is it too late to call my father-in law about his mom s death?
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics3 years agoWhy is my bath still hot one hour later?!?
I filled the bath tub one hour ago. I put the water on the hottest setting and added 2 lbs. Epsom salt. It is still TOO hot to handle. It is 67 degrees in my home. I left the bathroom door open. I don't UNDERSTAND!
1 AnswerChemistry7 years agoWhat level of statistical measurement (ordinal, interval, ratio) does the following question fall under:?
How many days a week do you exercise 30 minutes or more?
2 AnswersMathematics7 years agoweight gain on low-carb diet with proper portions, <1500 kcal per day?!?
I used to eat pretty healthy. I would eat 1 serving of protein (example: 4 oz. meat, 6 oz. fish, 1/2 cup beans),1-2 cups cooked veggies, and 1/2-1 cup of cooked grains a meal. Now, I'm trying a trainer's meal plan, where I am eating similarly, but with SIGNIFICANTLY less carbs, and two extra snacks throughout the day. I have gained 3-4 lbs in a week already. My activity level has not changed in terms of weight lifiting/cardio. I am 5'4". I weighed 117 lbs, now I am pushing 121 lbs. I DON'T UNDERSTAND!
Here is a sample day's worth of food:
Breakfast: 2 egg omelet with 1 cup spinach and 1 apple
Snack: 2-4 tbsp hummus with 1 cup raw veggies
Lunch: homemade chili with 1/2 cup beans, 1/4 lb ground turkey, and a salad
Snack: 1/2 cup yogurt with truvia, scoop of hemp protein powder
Dinner: 6 oz. salmon with 2-3 cups veggie stir fry

In the best case scenario (no amendments), in one legislative session/year.
2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government7 years agoWhy does my nose need to be blow all day? I eat so healthy and take such great care of my body! :(?
Ever since I moved to North Carolina, this problem started. Now I moved back to WA, and it's better. My throat hurts less or none at all, but I still blow my nose all day. I don't eat wheat, dairy, coconut citrus, chocolate, and avoid nuts/night shades generally..so I doubt it's related to inflammation from a food sensitivity. Also, I take a milk thistle supplement daily, along with other vitamins (from Whole Foods). What is going on? I thought allergies were related to a poorly functioning immune system? What am I doing wrong?!
3 AnswersOther - Health7 years agoThis question makes me frustrated. What does my teacher mean by "types of evidence"?!?
I am comparing two research models used in nursing. I am asked to compare the types of evidence used in each. My teacher recommend defining evidence. She also states "research designs and methods lead to specific types of evidence, but are not in themselves evidence." I AM SO CONFUSED, WHAT ARE EXAMPLES OF "TYPES OF EVIDENCE"! :)
1 AnswerWords & Wordplay7 years agoHow to respond to this?
A coworker that I've worked with 1+ years, who I have good relations with, responds to a question someone asks, in front of me (a nurse). She states, "Oh Betsy? Betsy's my favorite nurse." I respond, "Hmmm..?" to see if she was just teasing me or being...rude. She replies, "That's just the way it is. She's everyone's favorite nurse." This was not a sarcastic remark. I did not respond but was incredibly hurt by it. How would you respond/deal with this person in the future?

2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture8 years agoIs this normal in a relationship?
My boyfriend comes home from work, while I'm in the kitchen. I say, "I JUST got home at 5:30 it was crazy (I work from 7am). There was so much drama." He responds, "I had plenty of drama at my job and I don't want to hear about yours," and just continues with his own stuff. This really hurt my feelings. Am I being sensitive? I even explained this to him, but he says I'm the insensitive one...
4 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoAm I overreacting in this situation?
I come home from work today (Wednesday) and my boyfriend says, "I'm getting ready to leave." I'm going to the beach until Saturday night/Sunday morning. I figured I won't have much to do since you work the 4th and Friday (until 3pm) and go to the gym after work. I was NOT cool with zero minute notice and just leaving like that. What do you think? *I have lived with my boyfriend for over a year, so we're not just causally dating*
3 AnswersFriends8 years agoWould you be ok with this?

1 AnswerSingles & Dating8 years agoConfront or ignore the situation?
I have about 2 months left at my current job before I leave. Most of my coworkers are my friends and look out for me. Today, several of them brought to my attention that someone I work with directly every day made a HUGE scene about a TINY mistake (nothing management would care about or be notified about) I made that didn't cause any problems whatsoever. They said she was trying to make me look bad and took great joy in my mistake. I wasn't there, so who knows. Would you confront or ignore the situation?
2 AnswersFriends8 years agoQuitting job for game/reality show?
I am a runner up for a show on a major network, where a large $$$ is involved. I start grad school this fall, so I was planning to leave at this time. My dilemma is that filming is in less than 3 weeks and lasts up to 1 month (if you make it to the end). I will have 1-2 weeks notice. Also, I am a new grad, who had a 6 month job and has now been at her second job for 8 months. Again, I AM starting school this fall. I DO have money saved up to live off of until this time. What would YOU do?
3 AnswersReality Television8 years agoAsking time off work to go on a 5 week game/reality show on ABC...?
I'm a nurse. Straight out of school, I had a job for six months...but it was too dangerous so I got a new one. I've been at my current job 7 months. I'm being considered for a show on ABC. Filming starts in less than 4 weeks. Do I ask my boss now before I'm chosen? HOW should I ask? Am I risking my career by just asking....? Do you have negotiation tips for my company to let me leave for 5 weeks?

1 AnswerReality Television8 years agoWould you go considering the money and time?
I called my boyfriend at midnight, when I got off work, and he happened to be asleep (he's usually not). I told him my boss said it's highly likely I could get four days off in November, so we could go to Puerto Rico. The next day, I look at flight times/prices, and it's around $400 for a 6-8 hr flight. Turns out my boyfriend booked a ticket for himself for six days as soon as I told him! For me, it's so not worth $400 and 12-16 hrs of travel if I (potentially) only have 4 days off. Agree or disagree?

2 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoDid this come rude, or am I over-thinking it?
I was teaching a lesson to kids in a classroom setting. At the beginning, I read off a few silly jokes. One joke was: "What does Snoop Dog use an umbrella for?" The answer: "Fo drizzle." I had trouble reading the answer because I just can't do the accent to say "fo". So I turned to a coworker right beside me and said, "Can you read it?" The coworker was black. A few students pointed out, "You asked her to read it because she's black." My coworker was minimally upset, but I could tell she didn't like this. Did I really come off rude?
4 AnswersEtiquette9 years agoAm I way out of line?
I make breakfast, lunch, and dinner for my boyfriend of 6+months every time we hang out.. The other day he asked what was for lunch? I said "Beans and rice. You don't really like it, but I didn't have time to shop." He asked if I could make something else for him. I said, "Well, then the produce I brought to your house will go bad." He said, "Can you make something for me and beans rice." I said, "No." He got upset. He told me that because I came to his house and swam in the pool (he doesn't like to swim), did my laundry, and then refused to cook what he wanted that I am selfish. He said that, he just asked for me to make lunch for him, and that's it's the least I could do, and that I should want to something nice for him. What do you think? I thought he was way out of line
