  • What to do in Downtown Detroit for two days?

My husband has to travel to Detroit for work in a couple of weeks. I am thinking that it might be fun to take a couple of days to getaway with him while he is there...what could I do for two days in Downtown Detroit without a car? He will be working in the big GM Renaissance center, and the hotel is walking distance to that. Any suggestions?

  • What's up with Blogger.com???

Since yesterday, I have not been able to access www.blogger.com to update my blog. The entire site seems to be offline or something (I get the "not available" message). Is it just me??? Is there some sort of DDOS attack going on or something? Any ideas?

  • BB 11: How will next weeks double elimination work?

How will it work? Will they do two separate rounds of voting, or will they nominate 3 people and vote two out, or what?

  • BB 11: Is anyone else surprised with Jordan's vote?

I since Jordan seems to be pretty tight with Jeff and the guys more than the girls, I expected her to vote to eliminate Natalie and save Jessie, but she didn't. Was it just stupidity on her part or does she have some stratgey in mind?

  • Is there an online guide to chinese food?

I'm looking for a website that explains different chinese foods. For example, I know that Egg Foo Young is an omelette-like dish with vegetables and various meats. Is there a site that explains "foo young" means xYZ, "Mu Shu" means "abc" etc? so that I can have some idea what combination of things or preparation method each item on the menu means??

  • How do I stop my child from chewing on his shirt?

My almost 6 year old son chews on his shirt continually. Sometimes he chews the sleeve, sometimes the bottom hem, and sometimes the neckline. When I see him doing it, I tell him to stop, and he does, but almost immediately, he starts again. It is almost as though he doesn't realize that he is doing it. All of his shirts are gross and misshapen now. I've been making him take off his shirt so that he can't chew on it, but then he chews a blanket, the arm of the couch, a pillow or whatever is nearby. I also can't keep making him take his shirt off because we are in New England it is COLD.

Why does he do this? And can anyone suggest how to make him stop? He never used a pacifier or sucked his thumb as a baby, this is new within the last few months.

  • Tipping a cat sitter?

I have a professional cat sitter (the lady owns a pet supply store in town) coming to my house to care for my cats when I am on vacation next month. She will be coming 3 times to care for 2 cats. Each time she comes, she will brush them, feed them, give them fresh water, scoop the litter boxes and play with them for a while. In all, she will probably be here 20-30 minutes each time. She is charging $12.00 per visit ($36.00 total) . How much should I tip her??

    Thanks....
