  • Need opinions on a plant problem?

I have 2 hibiscus perennial bushes, One has been sick this yr. I believe it has rust problems. I have tried to treat it several times....I'm wondering it I should just dig it up. Does this rust come from the ground? I know it spreads air-borne. But at this point, I'm lost, don't want to loose the bush, but don't want my other plants infected..... The other one is beautiful! But it's about 200 feet away from the infected one. Zone 7..

  • Does anyone know about the euphorbia ascot rain plant?

The 2 that I bought and put in my rose garden are huge. The flowers are a creamy white in color. I love the foliage and the easy care of this plant. However, they are so happy were I put them, that they are shading the roses. And growing in with the roses. I mean, the foliage of both are combined together. I should have known better, but I goofed. Now I'm wanting to transplant these euphorbia's. Does anyone have some of these bushes? And have you ever transplanted them? Thanks in advance

  • has anyone used comfrey in their vegetable garden?

Comfrey is a herb, some folks use for medicine or/& compost. It is said, that it is good for braking up clay soil. And that it adds nutrients to the soil. But I'm trying to figure out if it can be planted in a vegetable garden or should it be planted outside/around the garden. Does anyone have any experience with this plant?

  • OMG, my tulips have surfaced, will they bloom this coming spring?

I got the bulbs way to early, I kept them in the frig. for about 8 wks. They were starting to look rough. So I went ahead and put them in the ground Dec. 2011. I'm in zone 7. Now it is Jan. 2012. I noticed that they have started coming out of the ground. We have 2 more months at least of winter, will they bloom this coming spring? Or are they gonna bloom during the winter months coming up? This is the 1st time I tried tulips, so I'm experimenting. Any wisdom out there for me would be so appreciated.

  • I can't figure out what to do about a co-worker, just wondering what others think.?

She's new on the job. Has a great personality, a pretty white smile, and the boss and men customer's think, she's all that and more. My husband has become very interested in her. To the point that, like the rest of the married men, he tries to be there, when she is....At 1st, it really bothered me, we have had words over him giving her so much of his attention........I have had a word of prayer with her, but she seems to enjoy the attention. She is married.....Anyways, I got tired of it, and I told my husband, if she can take him away from me, she could have him!.....I'm just tired of the BS. Not only did that shock him, but things have seemed to settle down a little, as far as my husband is concerned.....However, she acts like she misses his attention, and does things to try and get it back....Such as; I can be working with her a hour or more, me and her do not speak to each other, I moved to another dept. in the same building....My husband will come to visit with me, and she makes it a point, to make her presents known in front of me, while he is there!.....Just pisses me off to no end....I know she wants to piss me off enough to find another job. Because, I've been there for 13yrs. But my boss, has made it clear to me, he will not put up with my jealousy of her, on the job. In other words, I'm out, she's in...... She does not act like this when the boss is there, so he don't understand the problem....And my boss is 1 of my husbands best friends, so he may know more than he is leading me to believe.....I'm so frustrated with this situation....opinions, please.....And no, her husband does not know.

  • will a mixture of gypsum, sand and rich soil in a planting hole with a transplanted plant kill the plant?

I have a dry, hot slope of red clay. I have already removed what little bit of grass that was there and tilled it up. Then I put down black landscape fabric and a layer of mulch. I started planting different kinds of plants, such as lambs ear, dusty miller, day lillys, etc. I basically, dig a hole, use this mixture and put in the plant. Now I'm wondering if I'm using the right mix. Everything seems to be doing good right now, but I'm kinda worried about the long term effects of this mixture. Anyone know about this?

  • I need some help with colors for my kitchen?

Yes, I'm painting. I have a long kitchen/dining room combo. With a cabinet bar separating them. 1side of kitchen is cabinets top/bottom. With silver/black appliances on top as well as white stove/stove hood/frig. on floor. Dining room has 2 small walls; then there's 1 long wall that goes from dining room through kitchen with nothing on it.

The bottom cabinets are going to be a antique blueish/silver

The top cabinets and the trim are going to be a very pale whitish blue. With some glass inserts

The back splash is going to be stainless steel

I want to make the long wall an accent wall. Not to bright, but not to dark. And that will blend good with the colors, I've picked so far------any ideas out there?

What else can I do, to lower this with out statins? Or am I on the right tract, if I continue on this course, will the cholesterol continue to fall? Also, I'm tired all the time. My thyroid has been checked, it's in good shape. I'm 50yrs. old and feel like I'm loosing control of my body. I need some good advice.

  • does anyone here use solar curtains?

I was just wondering if they work. They are suppose to reflect heat in the house and cold air out. Then vise-versa in the summer time. They say you can see out, but no one can see in. They kinda look like aluminum foil, from the out side looking in.
