wife, mother, & grandmother. I believe Jesus is God manifest in flesh, that there is "ONE body, & ONE Spirit..." (Eph 4:4), & that God is the ONE Spirit (John 4:24), and that the Holy Spirit is God, and Jesus is the Temple body for that ONE Spirit, John 14:7-9, Col 1:15 & 2:9. I believe the fulness of the Spirit dwelt with mankind bodily when Jesus walked the earth, & when He went away, that Spirit dwelt IN them, John 14:17, "...he dwelleth with you, & SHALL BE IN YOU". I believe Jesus is the "mystery" which had been kept secret from the very beginning & His earthly life, death, & resurrection was the fulfilment of the OT scriptures. I believe this is the "end" or "ends" mentioned often within God's word, 1 Cor 10:11, "...upon whom the ENDS of the world ARE come." The world under the law ended and grace was given, and this was OT prophecy fulfilled. I believe God chose His people IN HIM before the world began & Jesus didn't gamble with his life on free will. IT IS FINISHED

  • Was Peter the first Pope? Did Jesus build his church upon a sinful man?

Deut 32:31, "For their rock is not as our Rock....". Psalms 62:2, speaking of God, "He ONLY is my rock and my salvation:..." (6) "He only is my rock and my salvation..." (repeats who our rock is). Psalms 18:31, "For who is God save the Lord? or WHO IS A ROCK SAVE OUR GOD?"

2 Cor 11:5, Paul says, "For I suppose I was not a whit BEHIND THE VERY CHIEFEST ASPOTLES." This included Peter. 2 Cor 12:11, Paul repeats his not being behind any apostle, "... for in NOTHING am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing". 2 Pet 3:15, Peter calls Paul "our beloved BROTHER Paul". Peter didn't call Paul his son nor did Paul call Peter father.

Matt 16:17, Jesus told Peter, "Blessed art thou.....for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee but my Father which is in Heaven." I believe this is the rock upon which Christ built His church. The same way that Peter knew who Jesus is, is the way all who are added to the church know him; through spiritual revelation (this is the rock) and not by flesh and blood. That is how Paul knew Him, Gal 1:11-12, and Paul was "a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting", 1 Tim 1:16. Yes, we have no rock but God, and their rock isn't as our Rock.

Matt 16:19, Jesus says, he will give thee the "keys of the kingdom of heaven" and it is interesting what he says next because it is repeated in chpt 18:18, "whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven". In the 18th chpt these words are spoken to every believer, verse 19 says, "AGAIN I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them OF MY FATHER which is in heaven". "Again I say unto you" is clearifying verse 18.

Please clarify each of these scriptures if you think Peter a pope.

Yes, I don't believe Peter was above any of the other apostles. Remember how the apostles were seeking who was greatest among them while they walked with our Lord? Did Jesus name Peter? Was Jesus pleased with such thoughts?

What do you see in these things? Thank you each one for your answers.

  • Who on R&S believes the USA has Christian roots? If so, are you praying those roots aren't taken away?

It seems MANY are trying to deny our founding upon Christian belief. Jesus said, if we deny Him, He will deny us. Shouldn't this be our constant prayer, that God restore our roots? I believe only God has the power to accomplish this, but I do believe He will never leave us. I'd like believer thoughts on this subject.

  • Is being "born again" the same as being "converted"?

Before answering, please consider Peter's need to be converted, Luke 22:32.

  • What is God's purpose which He "purposed upon the whole earth", Isa 14:25-27?

It says, God's purpose is to have "his YOKE depart from off them, and his BURDEN depart from off their shoulders". All caps are mine. What is this yoke and burden to be removed off "them"?

Matthew 11:29-30, Jesus said, "Take my yoke upon you... For my yoke is easy and my burden is light". Is His yoke and burden that which removed the yoke and burden mentioned in Isa 14:25-27?

  • What do you think Jesus saw Nathanael doing under the fig tree?

John 1:47-49, "Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I SAW THEE. Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel."

Jesus was the Word made flesh, and I can't help but believe that Nathanael was praying to His God under that fig tree, and His God "saw" him. I also believe that Nathanael knew that God had heard him, and that is the reason for his reaction.

Do any of you have any thoughts on this?

  • Two women dominate the book of proverbs. They are the entire theme of the book. Who are they?

    One of these women is:

4:6, "Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee".

3:15, "She is more precious than rubies: and ALL the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

31:10, "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies".

    Hint: 2:3-4, 8:11.

    The other woman is:

2:16, "To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words".

5:3, "For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:"

5:8, "Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:"

5:14, "I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly".

Compare the "honeycomb" in 5:3, to the one in 16:24, & 24:13-14.

Compare the "door" in 5:8, with the door in John 10:7-18.

5:4, "But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword". Heb 4:12,"the word of God is sharper" than

    any twoedged sword.

  • Should churches allow "babes" in Christ to teach the word of God to others?

Rom 1:20, says we can "clearly see" the invisible/spiritual

things of God by observing his visible creation; and natural

born babes must grow to become men. Hebrews 5:12-14,

points out the need for spiritual growth, from newly born

"babes in Christ", to children, then to sons, and finally, to men

of God, "of full age". 11 Tim says, that the "man of God" may

be perfect in knowledge; this growth is needed to discern

between good & evil; truth & falsehood. Could allowing

"babes in Christ" to teach, be a cause for so much error

being taught to God's people as if it were truth?

Should the revised additions of the bible, have changed the

words, babe, child, son and man, as they appear in God's

word & giving us the point of growth being discussed?

1Cor 6:4-5, speaks of the shame in allowing the "least

esteemed in the church" to make judgements as though

they were wise enough for the position. James 3:13, "Who

is a wise MAN and endued with knowledge among you?"

  • If goats can become sheep, and tares can become wheat, isn't that evolution?

Romans 1:20, says that we can see the invisible/spiritual things of God by looking at his creation. Goats remain goats, and tares remain tares. A goat can become a better behaved goat, but it can never become a sheep. Jesus said to let them grow up together and at the harvest, First the tares will be gathered and burned and then the wheat will be gathered into the barn. Can you find where leopards can change there spots in God's word?

  • Will everyone in heaven be "joint-heirs with Christ" (Rom 8:17)? Or are only the elect His joint-heirs?

The way I understand Rom 8:17, only those who suffer with Christ, will be joint-heirs with Him. There are 2 "Ifs" in Rom 8:17; "IF" children then heirs and "IF" you suffer with Him, then joint-heirs with Christ. An heir and a joint-heir differ; joint-heirs are equal shareholders, heirs are not necessarily equal shareholders. Could a child of God, who believes but doesn't suffer with Him, be God's heir to eternal life, but the child that suffers with Christ, as did John the Baptist & others, be joint-heirs with Christ; thus, elect and precious? Matt 5:10-12, Jesus says, "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you FALSELY, FOR MY SAKE. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for GREAT IS YOU REWARD IN HEAVEN: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you". 2 Cor 4:17-18, "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, WORKETH FOR US A FAR MORE EXCEEDING AND ETERNAL WEIGHT OF GLORY".

  • Believers: Rom 1:20 tells us we are "without excuse" for lack of understanding the "invisible things" of God:

because the invisible/spiritual things are CLEARLY SEEN and can be understood, even his eternal power and Godhead, by our observing the things God has created. I want to share an example with you & would love for God's people to think on it and share some with me. Example: The sun, as a type for God, and the moon, as a type for the church body, and the earth, as a type for our flesh; the moon /church has no light of her own but reflects the light of the sun/God, and when the earth/our flesh gets between the sun and the moon, there is spiritual darkness.

  • Why do horrible things happen to good people? Do you agree or not with my thots on this subject?

KJ bible, Job is a parable, 27:1 & 29:1. In the first chapt, was God bragging to satan about His servant, Job? NO. God was setting satan up to be done-away-with eternally. Satan said, you have a hedge about him & all he owns. Tare down this hedge & give me access to him & he will curse you. Did God allow satan access to Job without getting something in return? Satan knew he could cause man to fall but he didn't know that God himself would also become flesh and allow satan access to him thru temptation. Isa 14:12, "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! art thou cut down to the GROUND, which didst weaken the nations". Lucifer was eternal but when Jesus withstood his temptations and took our sins upon himself & died and arose, He conquered satan. John 12:31, Jesus said, "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out." Isa 14:25-26, Destroying satan is "The purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth". Satan's days are few.
