  • StraightTalk phone trouble with text messaging?

I have had a LGL39C through straighttalk for 9 months, and suddenly am having trouble with text messaging. I have tried restarting and powering off my phone multiple times. Texting yesterday was fine and totally normal, but as of my first message this morning, there have been problems.

When I send a message, the recipient receives it multiple times. When someone sends me a message, I receive it multiple times. The messages sent to me are also very delayed, I won't receive them until 5-30+ minutes after they were sent. And some of my messages take longer than normal to send.

I have tried talking to multiple customer service reps, the first was extremely unhelpful, and the second said I had to call again tomorrow to talk to a different tech department that was closed on Sundays.

My brother also has straighttalk service and is experiencing no problems with his texting.

Has anyone had this issue before? Any suggestions or solutions?

    Thanks in advance!

  • What can I do to get the car insurance money from an accident?

I was involved in an accident in February of this year, where I was t-boned when the other driver blew through a stop sign.

There was no question as to who was at fault, and the police report clearly states what happened, and who was at fault. The other party did have insurance, though I don't know what company, as that was handled by the police and my insurance company.

I drive a small car (old VW beetle), so the damage to the body was extensive.

My insurance company said they would pay me what I was owed, then get reimbursed from the other party's company. The damage cost was appraised at about $2500, but after my $750 deductible was taken out, only left me with $1750 to start working on the repairs.

The repair shop I had it worked on agreed to just get it drivable again, and not worry about all the esthetics (as I don't have to money to cover it out of pocket), until I get reimbursed for my deductible. They had to go a couple hundred dollars over the $1750, but were nice enough to but it on a tab for me until I get my deductible.

It's now been 8 months since the accident, and the person at fault's insurance company has just been sitting on the case, dragging their feet and not making any moves to repay for the damages. I have been calling my insurance regularly to try and nudge the issue forward, but they only tell me since the "ball is in the other company's court, they can't do any more at this time." Of course, all while I sit here with a car that looks like junk, and having paid out a lot of money for towing, rental cars, and public transportation while my car was initially getting worked on. Not to mention having missed work for visits to the hospital at the time of the accident.

I need my deductible money to finish getting the work done on my car, and obviously don't have money for a lawyer. Is there ANYTHING I can do to get that money sooner? I know everyone always complains about how ridiculous insurance companies are, and it is, indeed, beyond ridiculous, upsetting and frustrating. Any advise would help!

  • Should I send a second email of interest for a job interview?

I'm moving cross-country, and will be arriving in my new city in 2 weeks.

I have been applying to tons of jobs I find on Craigslist, company websites, etc for not quite 2 weeks now.

Towards the beginning of my job search, I got a reply saying they would like to set up an interview with me as soon as I arrived in the city, and to get in contact with them when I do.

I promptly sent a response thanking them, stating my interest, and letting them know they would hear from me as soon as I arrived.

My question now is, I am still very interested in the job opportunity, but that was going on 2 weeks ago that that contact was made. Should I send another follow-up email re-stating my interest before I leave, or should I just wait to contact them once I arrive in the city?

This job is one which works with animals (which I am extremely qualified for), and is by no means a "professional," CEO, management type-job, if that helps!

    Thanks!

  • Driving an air-cooled Volkswagen cross country?

I own a 1974 VW Beetle and am also making the cross-country move from Oregon to Pennsylvania in October.

I'd like to drive my car out there, but are there things I should know or take into consideration while making the roughly 2750 mile drive in an old car? Like avoiding overheating, etc?

I recently had some work done on the car which repaired a lot of miss-matched and old parts. I'll take her back in for another once-over and oil change before hand as well.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

  • Can someone tell me what kind of flower this is?

When my boyfriend gets surprises me with flowers, they're always a different kind. Up until now I've been able to identify the types.

These ones are pinkish/purple with green in the center. They look somewhat like a daisy, but with quite a bit more pedals, and the pedals point more upward. I think the sticker on the cellophane they came in said the name began with an M?

    Thanks! :)

  • Birth Control and Inability to get wet? (Possible TMI)?

I've been on Aviane birth control pills for a bit under two months, and I've really had no side effects at all, other than I can no longer get wet- even when I'm turned on. My guy and I always have to use a ton of lube now, when before natural lubrication was no issue. All the extra friction is giving me tiny tears and making me sore. Uncomfortable!

I was wondering if this is a side effect that'll subside, or should I get in to the doc for a new pill ASAP? Thanks!

  • Birth Control and Headaches?

I have been taking Aviane for just about a week and a half, and starting about 24-36 hours ago, I've had a bad headache- I would not consider it a migraine. The reason I connect the headache to my pill is because I never get headaches, especially ones which last this long and are not made better by Tylenol.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this side effect, and their experience with it?- Do they subside within the first 2 months like most other side effects? Any remedies to help soothe or prevent the side effect? etc.

    Thanks!

  • I need some guy advise... What is he thinking in our casual friendship?

I met a man about 3 months ago, and we really hit it off. Tons of chemistry and interest in one another (sexually and otherwise). Unfortunately, we currently can't be together.

About a month ago, he gave me an explanation saying that we should "lay off for a while" because our situation, as it is, "isn't fair to either of us."

So, no contact for a month, and I get a text asking if we can meet up. I drive down to meet him, where we only talk casually about what's been up for the last few weeks, but nothing too deep about "us." Towards the end things got a little heated (sexually). We have not had actual intercourse of any kind, just kind of fun teasing and touching. As I go to leave, he asks for a "real goodbye", mentions about seeing each other again, and about at least writing each other.

I'm assuming we're still in the "laying off" state, I just don't know exactly what he's thinking or wanting. The last thing I want is feelings to get messy because one of us is thinking FWB and one of us is thinking pre-relationship.

    Any perspective to be shared?

Right now I'm in the math level just below college level (Math 95- mostly calculator work) and have been having an extremely hard time as of the past 2 weeks.

I've heard math gets easier in college after math 95, is this true?

  • My TI-83 Plus calculator is not graphing the points I enter into "plot1"?

I've already cleared all the memory and ram, but am still having this issue.

My calculator can graph normal y=mx+b lines, but when I use the Plot1 option to try to use points on a line, it will not graph.

    Any suggestions?

  • Tilted Uterus and Sex?

I had my yearly gynecologist appointment yesterday and was told I have a slightly tilted uterus.

I'm aware that this causes no problems with conception and pregnancy, but I've also heard that it can cause pain during sex.

I'm currently not sexually active, so I don't necessarily need to think about it right now, but I was wondering if anyone else who has a tilted uterus experiences anything out of the ordinary pain-wise during intercourse, or is their uterus' position cause no troubles?

I can't really find stats online on how many women with this positioning have pain.

    Thanks!

  • Do the classes you take to get up to college level courses go towards your elective requirement?

    example:

you need to be in Math 111, but your skills are at Math 60. So you take 60, 65, and 95 first.

Do those extra classes' credits go towards your elective requirement?

    Thanks!

  • HELP! Babysitter needing ideas!?

I'm a 17 year old babysitter with a long haul ahead of me this weekend.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I'll be watching a 5 year old girl from 9:30am through about 8:30pm while her parents run a Christmas tree lot.

I'm looking for some suggestions of fun things to do inside since the weather won't be permitting outdoor activities.

I've been babysitting for years, and have taken classes in early childhood education so I already have a few ideas, but this many hours is a little overwhelming!

    Thanks!

  • How much do guys care about a girl's facial hair?

This is actually a sociology-related question, so please be honest!

How much do guys care if a girl has "peach fuzz" hair on their face? (not dark manly hairs, but that light blonde baby hair)

Does it affect the girl's attractiveness level? How much?

  • Need help with Psychology homework!?

So in Psychology, we had to pick a type of mental illness or disorder and write a 2 page paper on it, and draw a picture of the illness or something that would portray the illness.

I chose Schizophrenia and had the paper done within an hour, but I aboslutely cannot think of what to draw for it. Anyone have any ideas? (artistic talent is not graded at all, I sure do love stickfigures!)

    Definition:

Schizophrenia is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental illness characterized by impairments in the perception or expression of reality, most commonly manifesting as auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions or disorganized speech and thinking in the context of significant social or occupational dysfunction.
