What? You don't think I'm Dr. House?! Well, I'm not, but I'm sure he'd like to perform open heart surgery on you right now.

  • Fast forward music, what's this piece called?

I can't describe it any better than this: it's typically played during movie scenes when everything is in fast forward (factory scenes or crowded streets, etc.). It's in the style of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, but I'm not sure it's one of his works. Any ideas?

  • Is this a bad fuel pump?

1995 Ford Contour 4 cyl. 152k. Hesitates when accelerating from zero to thirty, and doesn't maintain speeds of 50+ very well (more hesitation). No strange noises that I can hear, but I do have an awful habit of letting my needle go to E before filling up. Starting up hasn't been an issue so far. Does this sound like a bad fuel pump? Thanks.

  • It's about that time, wouldn't you say?

My girlfriend accused me of cheating and was dead wrong about it. I actually did pick up an extra shift at work. Now she's saving face and being a total sweetheart. I should probably bail while I have the chance, shouldn't I?

  • 95 Ford Contour, blower motor or heater core leak?

My 95 Contour has been leaking from beneath the glovebox for a week now (slight smell, has foamed up like mold and left black staining on the passenger's floor mat). This led me to think I was leaking antifreeze, although there was no burning antifreeze smell, just a slight odor. After removing the foam under the glovebox I've found that the leak is directly beneath the blower motor. I checked the cabin filter; it is brand new and clean (no clogs there). The only other thing I can think of is a clog in the box drain, which I can't locate. But can I be pooling water from my evaporator core is I never use the A/C? And would the fluid be leaking a foamy fluid and staining black what I assume is refrigerant? I do use heat and defrost on occasion; the A/C hasn't been touched in a year. The heater core itself is central behind the dash, and not where the leak is originating.

Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!

  • Transmission speed sensor?

My speedometer and odometer both died today... never had problems before, but the odomoter has been slow and playing catch-up for a couple of days now. Could be the transmission speed sensor or the wiring of it. The wire apepars to be connected still, to the best that I can tell. Any other ideas? 1995 Ford Contour GL.

  • Insurance sales? What does this job entail?

Two insurance sales companies have gotten ahold of my resume and want to interview me (I'd never even heard of them before). Both are positions in sales management.

Can someone tell me exactly what this entails?

    Thank you.

  • Which musical instrument should I learn?

I'm thinking of learning a musical instrument. Never in my 26 years have I been musically inclined (although I can ballroom dance well, so I'm not hopeless), but I think now would be a good time to learn. It will enhance many parts of life. I'm looking for something fun, something I can be creative with. What are your suggestions?

If it helps at all, my musical tastes are generally rock/jazz/ambient. I like Maroon 5, Massive Attack, Daughtry, Chris Cornell, Howie Day, Live. The only instrument I'm definitely saying no to is drums. Guitar seems to be the obvious choice, and if you think it'd be a good choice, let me know. Or any other suggestions are welcome.

  • What should I say?

I'm looking to become on speaking terms again with my ex-girlfriend, but I want to do so gradually and casually. Not mention anything about the breakup or the relationship so that there's no pressure to discuss any uncomfortable matters. I would just like to introduce us back into good terms. I greatly value her friendship. She is the one who ended the relationship because "her feelings just changed," and she might sense that I'm trying to get back with her (I am open to that possibility), but right now I simply want to regain our friendship. I've tested the waters with some general questions... "How did your presentation go?"... stuff like that, keeping it calm and professional, and she seemed receptive, although the conversation didn't last but a few minutes. What would you suggest I say to continue this process? I'd appreciate mature answers, please. Thank you.
