Any good ideas for a title to the story im writing.?
Its about the time when I was still a virgin, I got friend zoned by a girl I was dating so I had a realtionship with her mother instead (accidentally). Lots of alcohol and other substances may have been involved if that helps.
Singles & Dating1 year agoCan you please check my job application answers, thank you thank you thank you?
Im applying for a job at aldi and really want to get it. I've answered the questions as best I can but feel there lacking a bit. Would appreciate any help at all. THANK YOU.
Experience of working in a team (max. 100 words)
As a food service advisor at Debenhams we were all delegated different tasks such as seating, cleaning dishes, working on till and serving beverages however if for example the till operator was struggling to serve a line of customers I would pitch in and serve drinks thus allowing the till operator to focus on taking orders. I would also keep an eye on what other members of staff where doing and offer help where necessary when I have a lower work load.
Experience of providing excellent customer service (max. 100 words)
I regularly speak to the customers with a warm and gracious attitude, ensuring a polite welcome, smile, and listening to the customers needs but also remaining prompt and efficient to ensure a rapid flow of customers in to the café. Whilst working on the front of house I also assist customers who appear to be looking for something and listen out for any possible complaints.
Experience of handling cash (max. 100 words)
I handle cash on a daily basis when operating the till and use this opportunity to up sell and products for examples offering customers beverages in mugs instead of cups, recommending syrup shots with drinks or offering loyalty cards to entice a return visit.
Whilst on the till I also pay attention to details such as how much money I have been handed, roughly work out how much change the customer will need in return and being cautious when opening the till.
8 AnswersLaw & Legal7 years agoHow to apply to jobs (coffee shops, bar, clubs) in stores?
I've recently took the step to quit my office apprenticeship after 1 year of working there due to various reasons. I'm aware the chances of getting job seekers allowance are nil.
I've filled out the jsa application form online and am waiting for 2-3 days for a call to arrange an interview with a job adviser. I just wanted to speak with someone about my options really. In the meantime I've been applying to some low end jobs online such as asda, sainsburys, mcdonalds, pizza hut..... kfc even invited me for an interview at one point but I was unable to attend due to the bad snow fall so lost the position. Basically I'm aiming for any job with bad staff turnover but where I can learn valuable skills.
Anyway I wanted to show extra initiative by applying in stores for jobs. Costa and Starbucks for example have online application form that they say to bring in to store once filled out. There a dozen coffee shops within walking distance due to where I live. Some of them privately owned. I was also going to go to one of the asda I haven’t applied to and asks for an application so I can hand it in, in person. usually I'm a confident person but doing this feels a little out of my comfort zone so I was wondering if anyone had any advice.
Another question is who I should address my application form / CV to when I don’t have a name?
5 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment8 years agoWhat question do you need to asks to seperate a clone from a real person?
Its a typical hollywood dilema but lets use family guy as an example.
Stewie and his evil clone get in to a fight to the death. after struggling with each other they lose there clothes and become unidentifiable. Brian needs to find out who is the real stewie. What question should he ask?
Its something on the lines of would the other guy be lieing if he said you where the real stewie.
I learnt it on the discovery science channel but forgot the answer and its bugging me to hell.
2 AnswersJokes & Riddles8 years agoShould I launch a complaint against my employer (I'm an apprentice)?
Shortest story possible
I'm 19
Doing level 2 admin apprentice
Have been doing it for 10 months
Been used as cheap labour earning 4.3p a minute despite promises it would go up 4 months ago
And most importantly have received NO TRAINING whats so ever and thus feel I have every right to complain but whats your opinion.
2 AnswersLaw & Legal8 years agoHELP, what should i put on my refrences in order to sound proffesional but remain trufull?
I want to apply to a new job but the application is asking for current employer and tel.
my current employer can not be contacted under any circumstances until I defiantly have the job. a once felow employee was looking for a job and once the director found out she blew her top. needles to say even though i work hard and put up with a lot I think she will be petty and provide a bad reference so what should i put on my cv.
something like this sounds slightly suspicious. "Yes, but my employer doesn't know I'm actively seeking other job opportunities."
Do you have any tips. thanks
8 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoParents want me to move out on 2013 but I'm not sure what to do?
Long story short im 19 now and my parents are pushing for me to move out next year. I'll be 20 in October. There not going to throw me out but they do want me to at least show progress that Im trying to. I would like to move out but the thought of taking the first step is a daunting one.
As far as I'm concerned the main thing holding me back is my job. Im an apprentice officer worker but im been taken for a ride. Ive been there since march 2012 but still get paid £2.60 its disgusting. I work dam hard and deal with a lot of stress there and still get treat badly not to mention the lack of any training whats so ever, I've never wanted to work in an office. After having no job for 7 months I ended up looking for and taking up this apprentice.
I feel trapped and extremely confused as to what to do. What I want to do is leave the #### hole and find anything, anything at all that pays minimum wage. I've even thought of working at burger king, McDonalds, ... anything will be an improvemt from where I am, it will only be short term. I understand that working conditions probably wont improve but at least I have an earning.
Now again my parents arent happy about me thinking of taking up a job at some where like a fast food restaurant and i think they assume I am over exaggerating my job when I talk about it but it really is terrible.(I wont go in to to much detail then it will sound like I'm moaning). The people working there have even recomended I leave whilst Im not reliant on the job. In the mean time my priority is to finish learning to drive and get my classic mini on the road. The hope is that by doing so it will pave a first step towards being independent.
Do you mind me asking about any of your experiences moving out and learning to stand on your own 2 feet. Personaly im terrified. It comforts me a little that my cousin who is the same age is in the same boat and is thinking of arranging living arrangements with me.
6 AnswersFamily8 years agoAm I been a bit childish or do I have a right to feel how I do about my job?
I know given the current job market I should be grateful to have anything but unfortunately I'm not. Spent best part of a year looking for this job and doing training courses for it.
I'm a 19 year old doing an apprenticeship completed 8 going on 9 months and still been paid 2.60 . also 3 months ago following a positive progress meeting she said she would think about raising my pay. I work very hard & frequently do unpaid overtime (usually cause there isn’t enough time in the normal working day to get everything done).
I dislike my job because of:
poor pay
no opportunities
no future
zero motivation for myself or others
repetitive, boring and many times pointless tasks
dull atmosphere
boring as hell conversations given I'm the youngest there by a good 10 years
the phone rings all the time and despite request from myself and others in the office my handset is the only one that rings
zero training to use the phone
following conversations with people there I have been frequently recommend to leave whilst I'm young.
its an apprenticeship yet I've been doing more or less the same things since i started instead of learning
last time I was taught new skills was 2 months in to the job
all in all once I've paid travel and eating expenses id be better off staying at home but I'm not that sort of person
when anything goes wrong I'm always first to blame even if I have absolutely nothing to do with what went wrong.
I feel as though I'm bottling up little irrationals and making a big deal of them.
Feel trapped by the lack of other opportunities,
Discovered I hate desk jobs in general.
I feel extremely demotivated by the fact I'm earning nothing meaningful. At the moment I'm learning to drive but again I feel demotivated cause I'll never be able to afford the insurance. My dad bought me a mini for my bday and its horrible to see the little thing sitting unloved in the garage.
My employer is ok but honestly she also winds me up with things she does won't go in to details.
All I want at this moment in my life is minimum wage for someone my age which is about 4.90 (i think) so I can get my car on the road and expand the amount of jobs I can apply to so I was thinking of looking for work where most people in my situation do. the likes of supermarkets, fast food restaurants, cleaning, any where with nmw pay and fast staff turnover.

If you cant offer a detailed answer could you leave a link of an active forum with knowledgble people who can. thanks
if you dont want to hear my moan please scroll down to the bottom and answer the questions as best you can.
Anyway, whats the best way to go about moving to a new job whilst doing an apprenticeship.
Long story as short as posible.
I'm a 19 year old doing an apprenticeship completed year 1 and still been paid 2.40 even though the minium wage is £4.98 for people aged 19+ and in the 2cd year. also 3 months ago following a positive progress meeting she said she would think about raising my pay. I work very hard & frequently do unpaid overtime (usually cause there isnt enough time in the normal working day to get everything done).

My employer is ok but I still feel as though I'm been taken for a ride so im wondering whats the best way to go about changing to a better job. I noticed that aldi is paying very respectable wages for essential shelf stacking and i have many transferable skills and training qualifications. I'm not sure what I want to do but at the moment but i defintanly dont want to stay here.
So heres a few questions thanks for any decent answers;
1: my biggest question is whats the legal side of things?
Is there any paper work to deal with should i worry about that for the time being or do i just apply for jobs.
2: at what point does my employee need to know?
Do I wait till i have a job there waiting or does she need to know in advance to prepare anything. from discussions with a colluage im close with there the gaffer took very badly when she was caught looking for a job. the potential new employer called the current boss asking for a refrence and she shot down her dream job. i cant say i want that to happen to me. i dont want to burn any bridges but id imagine she would
3. what do i do about interviews?
as i said im learning to drive but for the time being really on public transport so going to interviews after work is near dam impossible. do i just be honest with my current boss and say this is how it is, im not happy hear and im trying for some interviews or do i lie and say my dads, brothers dog will get hit bus next week and i need tuesday off. I still have holidays 8 leaft.
4:
any recomendations from people who have gone down this road?
thanks for reading all this any tips would be greatly appreciated

1 AnswerProgramming & Design9 years agoWill eye exercises such as the ones commonly found on the web really improve my vision?
I started a office job about 6 months ago and since then my eye sight has become terrible. I notice its getting worse gradually. I'm not sure if its due to my diet, lack of any real exercise or just starring at the pc at work btut either way I'm worried. So I was wondering will the eye exercises easily found on the net actually work?

3 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships9 years agoApprentice lost all motivation to work?
I really enjoyed working up up until last week. I've been working for six months and lately have just given up. Don't want to go in to much detail but long story short im been asked to do stuff I don't know how to do and no one will bother showing me. When the job doesnt get done im at fault even though I asked repeatedly so basically im feeling unneeded. Shame since I spent seven months unemployed for this job.
1 AnswerOther - Family & Relationships9 years agoWhen is an apprentice ship legally entitled to a pay rise?
I work for a medium size business doing accounts as an apprentice ship. The training part is one year long but the contract with the company is an additional two years. I earn just 2.60 an hour and work 40 hours a week. I've been trying to find out how much an apprenticeship worker is entitled to after working x amount of time. I started in February and it's going ok. I work largely with the owner of the company and we get a long fine. I work as hard as I can and he seems prity happy with me output. Anyways I was wondering at what point if any I will be legally entitled to a pay rise. Is it when I turn 19. Is it when I have been working there over a year. I can't work the next three years for 2.60 an hour. I'd really like to learn to drive but I've got no chance of doing that on my salary. Any info would be appreciated thanks
