  • Would you pray for my cousin?

I have a cousin who is suffering from some unknown ailment in a German hospital. He is in the military and has served at least two tours in Iraq and at least one in Afghanistan. He's married and has a son who's about 1. I see my cousin more as a brother and would appreciate the prayers of believers in the Answers community and others who care. His parents and sister are flying to Germany to be by his side right now. Last I heard he's been in ICU for the past week. I really appreciate your prayers. Thank you.

  • Comics Fans! If you could choose a DC and a Marvel character to spend a year in the other's universe, who?

I'm reading JLA/Avengers one day and the idea hit me. What if you took a major character from each universe and dump them in the other's? I'll give an example. Somehow, Wonder Woman and Storm found themselves stuck in the other's universe with no clear way back for at least a year. Storm is in the DC Universe and Wonder Woman is in the Marvel Universe. I could see Wonder Woman joining the Avengers and Storm joining the Justice League. Who would you choose? What kind of adventures or relationships would your choices have in a universe foreign to them? What kind of enemies would they have? What teams might they join? What character might be their best friend or rival? What major story would you come up with to involve them? So, who would you choose?

  • Comics Fans! What are your thoughts on the direction of Spider-Man after the 'One More Day' storyline?

Every once in awhile you see a comic take a risk in the direction of their character(s). Its the kind of direction that makes you feel you are in a movie in slow motion saying "Don't do it!" at the top of your lungs. For me that would have to be the direction of Spider-Man in Marvel. The 'One More Day' storyline is, in my opinion, ruining the character and endangering the franchise. I'll admit that's a hard charge coming from someone who doesn't regularly read the book but you do still care about the characters. Before the storyline was over I saw where it was going. I have to say I'm disappointed. Here's a link to recap the storyline on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider-Man:_One_More_... Whether it was Quesada or Straczynski doesn't matter. The story was a bad idea all around. Like to here your views on the matter.

  • What is your fondest memory of your father or a father figure?

Growing up, I didn't have my birth father in my life. The closest male influence in my life was my grandfather. My fondest memory of him was when I was about 4 or 6 years old. Where I grew up, we lived about a block from our church so it was in walking distance. I can remember rushing to get ready for Sunday School so I could go walk with him. My grandfather was a very tall man, most especially when you're 4. By that age it was clear to me that I was lacking my father compared to most kids at that time. Being with him in that moment going to church, I felt like I had a father. I felt like I knew what it was like to have my father right there. I have other memories of him but that moment sticks out. A moment I cherish because he made me feel like a son who had a father. Thinking about it now makes me still tear a little. What's funny is that I didn't realize this till after he passed away years ago. Since then I'm blessed to have a stepfather and, not long ago, my birth father.

  • Comics Fans! Which comic book character should have their own animated series or film?

It seems that cartoons are of the same characters anymore. How many versions of Spider-Man, Superman, Batman, and the X-Men have come out in the last ten years? I think its time we get a change. Not trying to knock our popular characters, but it would be good to see someone else with an animated series or film. I would like to see these characters given the animated treatment: Power Man & Iron Fist, Green Lantern, The Avengers (a better version than last), The Flash, The Tangent Universe, Green Arrow, The Omega Men, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and Stormwatch.

  • Does anybody remember Commander USA's Groovie Movies on USA Network in the '80's?

I remember watching this late nights on USA back in the eighties. If there was an obscure, B-movie horror film from the thirties to the eighties, then it would be shown on Groovie Movies. The host, Commander USA, made it cheesy yet fun to watch. The show introduced me to old horror movies I couldn't see anywhere else. I think the first one I remember seeing was Vampire Circus. It was fun growing up at that time and planning to watch an old monster movie from the sixties and seventies on a Saturday night. You don't see shows like that anymore. We kinda need something to show these rare and old movies again. Do you agree? What are your memories of the show?

  • Does anybody deserve blame for the Confederate loss at the Battle of Rich Mountain? Serious answers only.?

During the American Civil War, a battle was fought in the mountains of what is now West Virginia that eventually led to it becoming a state in the Union. The Union victory insured that a key railroad line was secure for them as well as a potential staging ground for an attack into Virginia. This loss would help the defeat of the Confederacy years later. After the battle public opinion tend to shift blame to one Col. William C. Scott. However, there were also others there such as Col. Pegram who's job was to defend the turnpike. Who do you think is to blame, if anyone?

  • What shows would like to see re-imagined like Battlestar Galactica has been?

This coming season of Battlestar Galactica is to be the end next year. This draws to a close a successful run of a great show that was re-imagined. Some of those involved with the Galactica series have re-imagined the Bionic Woman hoping for the same kind of success. If you had a choice which show(s), would you like to see re-imagined for today's audiences? It doesn't necessarily have to be sci-fi.

  • Comics Fans! Who is the most underused DC hero that deserves a bigger spotlight?

DC has some of the most iconic heroes of our lifetime. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, you hear the names and an image or a story comes to mind. What about some of the others that are part of the same universe? If all the big name characters were out of the spotlight, who in your opinion could and should be given a bigger slice of the pie in comics.

Who's on your team of the Avengers? Personally, my favorite 7 to 9 man line-up I would like to see is:

    3. Wolverine

    4. Spider-Man

    5. Sub-Mariner

    6. Hulk

    7. Thor

    8. Iron Man

    9. Black Panther

So, what Marvel characters would you have on the team? Remember, ONLY MARVEL CHARACTERS!

  • Comics Fans! What do you think the Skrulls are up to? Who do you think is a Skrull?

Just recently in New Avengers the team discovered that Elektra was a Skrull impersonator. Now they're on the verge of suspecting everybody including each other of being a Skrull. So what do you think the Skrulls are up to and who do you think is a Skrull impersonator? I guess like Cage I'm asking what is your conspiracy theory?

  • What if the Allies lost the Battle of D-Day? Serious answers only.?

This is a question I've bounced around in my head once in a blue moon. In comics I've seen writers put their take on the question. Now I'm asking this of the history buffs of Y!A. Maybe like me you've thought of it or you've done your own research and found some conclusions. After all, with the factors of the weather and intelligence reports of the day a lot could have gone wrong. Or still go right. What are your thoughts?

  • 2nd Round Draft! Who would you cast as a second choice for the movie X-Men?

This is 2nd Round Draft! I want to know who would you cast for the movie X-Men. The rules are simple. You can choose anybody for the main roles except who was originally cast in the movie. In other words, you choose who plays Storm if Halle Berry is not available. If you don't know the main cast then go to the movie website or imdb.com or anything else that can give you cast info. This question is for the first X-Men movie and not the sequels. If you want to give an explantion for your choices, that's cool too. Try not to go too crazy with your choices, I want some good well thought answers. Feel free to get your friends and family involved. My sister and I play this quite well with movies we've watched so I hope you enjoy this as much we have. Now, put on your thinking caps and have fun.
