I apprenticed in 2002 for 15 months in the art of body piercing and cutting/skin removal scarification. My love of body mod's goes back many many years before then which made me a very quick learner. Over the last 7 years I have learned etching (tattoo machine scarification also known as inkless tattooing) and tattooing (with ink). I have had the privilege of working with some fantastic people in this business from Va to Ga and learning a lot from them. I draw, paint, make chain maille, glass art, and metal art (wire, steel panels, etc). I'm also a freelance photographer, and also own a band management agency (Tainted Pink Productions) based out of Danville, VA. I have creative ADHD I guess you could say, lol. Feel free to add me on MySpace Piercings By Julie http://www.myspace.com/piercingsbyjulie (being updated) I check mail there at least twice a day so if you choose to email me, you're more likely to get a faster response there than through Yahoo Mail.
Puppy problems...nipping & chewing on me...help!?
I have a puppy that will be 8 weeks this coming Wed. He's part Rottweiler, part Pit, and part Miniature Daschund (no I'm not making this up), I've always had full blooded Pits and Rotts in the past and never had a problem with them acting like I'm the chew toy after being disciplined for a couple of days over it.
Evan (the puppy) isn't responding to typical puppy punishment for nipping like my other dogs have. I've tried tips that are on puppy training websites and it's not working either. The more I discipline him, the more he thinks he's Cujo, almost like he thinks I'm playing.
I know I have to show him that I'm the "alpha" in the house and for the most part he understands that until he gets all woundup wanting to play and starts the nipping and nawing on me.
Any tips for breaking him of this?
5 AnswersDogs1 decade agoFibromyalgia...winter time worse? Any suggestions or tips on easing the pain?
I've dealt with constant pain for 6 years and this past year (07) has been the worst, summer was bad, and now winter feels like its killing me. The slightest draft and and I go to aching even worse and its not feasible to keep the heat set on around 80 just to ease the aches and pains a little especially at work.
I don't like using prescriptions as I prefer homeopathic and holistic medicine so finally after 6 years asking my dr. for pain medication is not something I want to do unless it is an only option. I'm at a point now just over the last few weeks that sitting, standing, laying, everything, just hurts and it's getting kind of depressing.
Do any of you suffer with fibromyalgia? Do your symtoms seem to intensify in the winter? What are some of the things you do to ease your discomfort?
How I long for summers return...
Pain & Pain Management1 decade agoToy poodle... I'm can't think of a name...?
I'm getting a white toy poodle in the next couple of weeks that I'm going to be having clipped with the typical poodle cut (poofy head & ears, poof tail, and the little balls around it's feet..everwhere else shaved short), I'm also going to have the poofy spots dyed (organically) black, so I have a black and white poodle. I have a black leather spiked collar for it....
I'm highly into metal (all subgenre's of it) and want something that works with how the dog is going to look and fits with the metalhead lifestyle..also I'm a piercer/apprenticing tattoo artist, so I can't have my wimpy poodle having a wimpy name, lol. And I'm almost positive I'm getting a male, but not sure yet....
Some things I've thought of have been:
Pantera
Burton (for Cliff Burton of Metallica)
Steele (for Peter Steel of T.O.N)
Cephalic (as in Cephalic Carnage)
Twiztid
Vermillion (as in the Slipknot song)
Opinions on the one's I've thought about and suggestions needed!!
10 AnswersDogs1 decade agoI'm curious about why some people answer certain questions...?
I've been answering a lot of questions that go along with the line of work that I am in...I'm a body piercer and apprenticing tattoo artist, and I know my stuff. I'm wondering though why so many people that really have no clue what they are talking about offer up advice to people who ask a legit question about tattooing or body piercing.
It has always boggled my mind as to why someone can get a piercing or get a tattoo and all of a sudden they think they are the world's leading authority on proper proceedure and proper care when they have never spent a day of their life apprenticing and taking courses/intensives to improve their skills.
If you have no clue what you are talking about then why are you giving these people misleading and sometimes dangerous information? Also, why do the ones of you who do this, feel the need to insult the people who give the correct information?
7 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoRescued injured toad...?
This is not my first frog/toad, just my first one this size as I have had an american bullfrog before that was as big as a small plate.
I rescued this frog on the 3rd day that he found me...long but cute story. He is missing 75% of his back leg, but appears and acts like he is healthy, and it seems to be healing well.
My question is, aside from giving him (yes I'm sure its a him) the comforts of "home" in his aquarium...what should I feed one this small (1.75" from nose to rear)? Crickets from bait shops is what I fed my bullfrog, but they are huge and I can't see how this frog would be able to eat them. I've read earthworms, meal worms, crickets, etc...but he seems to have no interest in the crickets, or mealworms, although I think he did eat the earthworm that I put in there...he's looking really fat today, lol.
Anyone have suggestions? I'm open to anything as I plan on keeping him long term.
4 AnswersOther - Pets1 decade agoI'm writing an article on body piercing...wanting some views and opinons...?
I'm a piercer and have been asked by a friend to assist in writing an article on the standpoint of piercings in today's society. So I've decided to bring our research here as opposed to asking people who come in the shop because they're opinons would probably be biased towards piercings being a fantastic thing.
I would like opinions from anyone who is willing to share in an intelligent manner what they think piercings impact on today's society is. Please back up your opinion's with reasons instead of just saying "they're totally cool" ( I hear enough of that from the shop rats (if any of you read this, I mean that in the most loving of ways ::muahs::) or "they're extremely trashy".
Thanks in advance!
8 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoElectrical problem on a 94 Chevy Camaro?
Normally I can fix these problems on my own, but this is my first Camaro and first car that I've bought used. There was no problems with it when I bought it, had been very well taken care of and babied.
One of my low beams went out, replaced the bulb, and that is not the problem. Checked the voltage and its not getting 12v like it should be, its getting more like 7, which lead me to believe it was possibly a problem with the relay...I can't find the relay for the headlights.
Now problem #2, instrument panel lights and clock on the radio worked fine, ate dinner, cranked up and the instrument panel was out and when I turn on the headlights, the clock on the radio goes off (the radio stays on, just the clock goes off)...this leads me to believe there is a problem in the switch for the headlights...not sure though.
Can someone please possibly shed some light on this, I really don't want to have to take it to a shop if I can fix it.
