Middle aged man who never out grew his toys. I enjoy Corvettes, Florida Gator sports, the Florida sunshine, and Snoopy. I try to exercise regularly. I am very mechanically inclined, having remodeled most of my house by myself, and working on my two project vehicles, 1969 CanAm Corvette, and 1970 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck.

  • O-rings on transmission pump bolts?

What material are the o-rings made of that seal the bolts on the pump of a 700R4 transmission? I already tightened down the set that came with my rebuild kit, and they are now ruined. Are they just rubber? Or teflon?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Replacing distributor o-ring?

How difficult is the job of replacing the distributor O-ring on a 1.6 L Honda motor?

It looks fairly straight forward. Any tips or hints would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Anyone installed a remote starter on a vehicle?

Not the type that you hook up to the starter when troubleshooting. This is the type where you can start your car from inside the house, to say, warm it up, in cold weather.

How long did it take? Is it tough to figure out what wiring harnesses to tap into? This would be going on a 2003 Chevy Tahoe.

  • Installation of shift kit on GM transmission while tranny still in vehicle?

How difficult is it to install a shift kit on a 700R4, while it is still in the vehicle? Can it be done? I was reading instructions for one kit that recommended doing it out of the vehicle.

  • Motherboard Question?

From the information I got in Y!A, I have come to the conclusion that the motherboard on my HP Pavillion is the cause of my computer not coming on. I have searched HP Parts, and the original board in no longer available. My question is: Will any other board, that is compatible with the P4 chip, be a workable solution to getting this computer running again? If not, please make suggestions, or should I just ditch the whole idea, and pull the hard drive, and put it into another computer?

    Thanks in advance.

  • HP Pavillion PC running XP Media Center wont stay on. When push button, comes on for approx. 10 seconds.?

When it comes on, the HP welcome screen comes up with F1 for setup, and F10 for something else, but keyboard is non-functional. Turns off after about 10 seconds. Power supply is less than 1 year old, and hard drive is about 2 years old. Haven't yet had a chance to check out voltages coming from power supply, but the fan comes on.

    Thanks in advance.
