  • Honda civic wont stay running?

    The car will run for a second and die. It tries to start but just doesnt start . Every ounce in awhile it will start and run for a second or two. I have posted this problem twice with no resolution. Again i am 100$% it is not a fuel problem. I diconnected the injectors and checked with starting fluid and it is not fuel!! 150psi compression. Gets spark at all cylinders!! Any legitimate mechanics that no some other checks??

    It is not a fuel problem that is 100%. I checked the fuel pressure and also sprated fuel in manually while it tries to dye and no effect. So please dont tell me a fuel pump!!I checked for spark at each wire and it is good. Each cylinder has 140 psi. Please no guesses!!! If you have had these symptoms let me no . Prefer ASE certified techs.

  • 91 honda civic 1.5L motor will not start?

    I checked the spark with a spark checker and is fine. The car is getting fuel and i have even sprayed starting fuel in to make sure it is getting enough. The car will start up but then it dies. It will not rev up very high . It only runs for a few seconds. Im stumped!! I took a compression test and all cylinders were 140lbs.. Any honda studs have some other checks?

  • 1995 mitsubishi 2.0 non turbo no start?

    I posted yesterday and hoprfuly the guy who gave me some very good advice will see this. So to all the techs out there here is my problem. The car stopped running. I have vo voltage to my crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor. No spark and no injector fire. All has been checked. No reference voltage from computer to these sensors. I checked it from the ecm itself. And the big one is my check engine light will not work. i hooked my actron obd 2 scanner up and it will not comunicate with the motor. Bad PCM right? Please no guesses. I was a smog tech bach in the late 90's and am pretty good with cars but i also would like opinions from Techs that specialize in mitsubishi because unlike most mechanics i will admit that a specialty mechanic no's a hell of alot more than a general mechanic!!! Points for good opinion.

If you are familiar with mitsubishi let me no. On a gm It would probly be a crankshaft sensor. I looked in a book i have for up to 94 but mine is a 95. In 94 they used a combination sensor in which the crankshaft and cam sensor were in 1 unit. Did that change in 95? Points for right answer! Thanx

  • Problem with a 1988 toyota truck HELP!!!!!?

    Ok. I baught this toyota and tore it apart. It has a 22r motor and i replaced the timing chain, put all new gaskets had head resurfaced and the truck ran like a champ when i was done. The problem is in the back left corner by the egr vave ther is a fine mist of oil squirting out. It is enough that it is causing a puddle under the truck to accumulate pretty quickly. I think the head wasnt resurfaced properly but someone had told me ther is a special bolt that screws into the oil port that goes to the oil pressure sending unit and that special bolt(which had a teflon washer and was the only one) was the problem. To me it is in that area but it looks like oil is coming from inbetween the head gasket. Any Toyota buffs Encounter this problem. Ten points for the best answer Thanks!!

    I use to be a smog tech in the early ninety's . I am ase certified in electrical, a/c, engine performance and more. My problem is its been so long that im a bit rusty but still pretty knowlegeable. I have a 1991 buick regal with a 3.8. It stopped on me while i was driving. My harmonic balancer was already bad and i suspect it probly brohe the crank sensor but here is the problem. I dont remember if the ecm needs a crank signal in order to fire the injectors. I no the timing of the injectors is done by the cam signal to the ecm. I have power to the injectors but no ground from the ecm. Please techs only answer and be clear so i can remember what the problem could be. Does the ecm need a signal from the crank sensor in order to fire the injectors?? POINTS for the right help. Please explain why!!

    Does the computer need a signal from the crankshaft sensor to fire the injectors? I always thaught that the crankshaft was for spark and camshaft sensor was for injector timing. I have power to the injectors but no ground control from the ecm. Please no guesses. If you no for sure 10 points is yours thanks

  • Can a bad crankshaft sensor cause you to lose injector pulse?

    I have a 1991 buick regal. If i lose my crankshaft signal can it cause my injectors not to work? Or should i say will it cause the computer to not supply the ground? Injectors have 12 volts but the computer is not grounding them like it is supose to.

    The injectors do have power to them the computer is not supling the ground. Also i am getting no spark. Could my computer be fried? please answer if you have had this problem or you are a mechanic who has dealt with this.
