Is this an American hero?
In November 1962, at the age of 21, Cheney was convicted of driving while intoxicated (DWI). He was arrested for DWI again the following year
When Cheney became eligible for the draft, during the Vietnam War, he applied for and received five draft deferments.
He was a not patriotic American yet he was CEO of Haliburton making weapons to kill people. He pushed for war while in the White House. Now there are two chicken shits that like their wars while they're nice and comfy in front of the fireplace. Cozy as little buggers in a rug.
"In 1989, The Washington Post writer George C. Wilson interviewed Cheney as the next Secretary of Defense; when asked about his deferments, Cheney reportedly said, "I had other priorities in the '60s than military service."

9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWere the Soveits looking for BinLaden too in Afghanistan war just like the Americans nowadays?
Yes. And the USA was helping to finance Osama bin Laden in their long fight against the USSR. The USA was also helping the Taliban stay in power.
The year before the USA (NATO) invaded Afghanistan, without proper diplomacy, GW Bush sent the Taliban government $40 million because of their work in reducing the opium poppy crops.
Of course, the poppy business was never so great as it has been since the invasion of Afghanistan.

Chile to get the cruel, criminal Pinochet in power who had people set on fire in the streets?
Well, it sure seems like it. With Chavez Venezuela finally has a chance to move out of its desperate poverty that the wealthy have encased the ordinary folk with. When will America and their terrorist goons of the CIA, NSA, DEA and Special Forces just but out and mind their own business.

Israeli Journalist Under House Arrest for Exposing Illegal Assassinations
In Israel and the Occupied Territories, an Israeli journalist has been revealed to be under house arrest since December for allegedly leaking classified military documents on unlawful assassinations in the occupied West Bank. Twenty-three-year-old Anat Kam is accused of copying the documents and giving them to an Israeli newspaper during her time in the Israeli military. The documents reportedly detail how the Israeli army continued assassinating alleged Palestinian militants in violation of a court ruling declaring the killings illegal. Kam is set to go on trial later this month on charges of treason and espionage. An Israeli court has imposed a gag order barring media coverage of the case.
Isn't this just so pathetic? Democracies my butt!
2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWith America spending millions upon many wars both overt and covert and selling the Saudis $20 Billion not too?
long ago and another $9 billion to Taiwan, a country they don't even recognize officially is complaining about Venezuela spending a few billion of its own on Russian weapons and having been threatened by the USA before and having survived a CIA terrorist coup why is America upset?
I would suggest America quit hiding behind threats and clean up their act. The video the other day seems to be quietly hidden away as the military takes its time to create new lies to cover up murder that is obviously sanctioned by them in the first place.
Let's see all their tucked away videos of military murder!
Oh, and the CIA terrorists are denying flying drones!! The military says its not either. Are these robot drones going out of their own free will to murder Pakistanis?

8 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoDo you think Palin will become either President or Vice-President?
This is a very scary thought but not because of Palin herself but because of the amount of Americans that believe she's capable. Nonetheless, I do think she stands a chance!
24 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do so many Americans answer questions with questions yet never allow an answer?
I've been here a while and, being quite contrary to "America's viewpoint", am never bothered with replies to a bothersome degree. Still, these Americans claim they're verbally assaulted all the time! I think this is a pile of dodoo.

1 AnswerOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoIs the following true?
The purpose of U.S. intervention is not victory but destruction.
The American political administration deserves congratulations. This is what Professor Noam Chomsky explains; the standard American strategy;
they do not have to win; they need only to undermine, destroy and push a rebellious nation back into the Stone Age.
Afterwards they will blame it on socialism, as in Vietnam and Ethiopia, on Islam as in Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan, or on nationalism, as in Serbia, Cuba and Venezuela.
Maybe we have to wait 30 or 40 years to hear the official confirmation of CIA's conspiracy.
Only Obama apologised to Iran for the CIA's successful plot to overthrow the democratically-elected government of Iran in 1952 (the world waited 55 years for the U.S. to accept its guilt). But the local people knew the dirty game of the Americans.
An Iraqi said, "The U.S. never provides aid to people but it is always ready to give us arms to kill each other".
Who provides arms to the insurgents in Afghanistan, in Pakistan and in Iraq? The Americans themselves?
Iqbalmiran from India

2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoCan we get it right please?
According to Cole, "Ahmadinejad did not say he was going to 'wipe Israel off the map' because no such idiom exists in Persian". Instead, "He did say he hoped its regime, i.e., a Jewish-Zionist state occupying Jerusalem, would collapse.
Everyone is misconstruing the translation of what Mahmoud Ahmadinejad actually said. There is no translation in his language meaning 'wiped off the map'. This is an axiun peculiar the American modern times and used often by Americans about darn near anywhere upon our Earth and it is dirived from the nuclear age.
What was really said can be most astutely translated --
"According to Cole, "Ahmadinejad did not say he was going to 'wipe Israel off the map' because no such idiom exists in Persian". Instead, "He did say he hoped its regime, i.e., a Jewish-Zionist state occupying Jerusalem, would collapse.
Ahmadinejad was quoting the Ayatollah Khomeini in the specific speech under discussion: what he said was that "the occupation regime over Jerusalem should vanish from the page of time." No state action is envisaged in this lament; it denotes a spiritual wish, whereas the erroneous translation—"wipe Israel off the map"—suggests a military threat. There is a huge chasm between the correct and the incorrect translations. The notion that Iran can "wipe out" U.S.-backed, nuclear-armed Israel is ludicrous.
3 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow many people, of age, here on Yahoo Answers have actually volunteered to fight?
in today's wars? And I don't mean getting a job withe Great Employer but actually applying to get on the front lines and to fight (for your ridiculous imperialism!).
The US does not have a volunteer army. A volunteer army is one made up with people who signed up to fight, not as paid soldiers or investing in a career. Americans really don't understand what a voluntary army is. It's not just one that does not use conscription.
Just like me when I get a job. I don't volunteer to work with IBM or for Xe. I apply for a job. And that's what people do when they go to work for the military.
If you want to volunteer you'll need to go work for Doctors Without Borders, Peace Brigade, CARE or some such organization and rely upon an honouranium or such.
5 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoIsn't it too bad that the UK just can't seem to learn from its past?
Gandhi concluded the effective response from the public was non-violent, non-cooperation with unjust British rule until the British themselves realized their engagement in immoral acts with an educated and non-cooperative public was inconsistent with their own values.
