My husband and I are looking at buying a brand new house in a gated community. Unfortunately, per the city's crime tracker, this is a high crime area because about half a mile down the road is a neighborhood with lots of crime and apartment buildings with issues. Does anyone live in an area that's close to high crime in a big city? Have you had any problems or regrets about it?

I am on the hunt for low heel booties for women. I am 21 years old, so no granny shoes. I have searched and searched and can't find anything that is around 2" high, and less than $50. Has ANYONE seen anything or have any ideas to look? I've tried shoedazzle, zappos, modcloth, jc penney, urban outfitters, forever 21, and no luck yet.

My hair is naturally curly, but not uniformly. Some parts are really curly and others not, and the parts closest to my scalp are really curly while the ends aren't. I flat iron my hair every day and it responds well and stays straight. Some days I want to wear my hair curly, but my natural hair does not look good. Can I perm my hair to be less curly, but still straighten it some days? Any other suggestions? (Blow drying my hair makes it BAD!! And on those days I must straighten it)

He sometimes licks his paws, but usually he's licking the couch and the bed. I'm washing the sheets every day because there are wet spots from him licking! He just turned one. I don't know why he does this. He sometimes licks us, but usually just the furniture and the sheets. Is something wrong with him? How can I stop this? I tell him "no!" and he will temporarily stop, but he just starts again a few minutes later.

Ive had no animal products for a week and have been drinking soy milk, which i love. I took a sip of 1% today and it tasted BAD, and Ive always liked cow's milk. Did I adjust and why, or is the milk rotten?! It's not expired yet.

3 shortcomings of planned economies in America today

When I graduated high school, I wore a size four, was active, and felt and looked great. My freshman year in college I gained about 25 pounds, and now this year, I'm on a huge downhill slope. I've gained probably 50 pounds in a little over a year. I'm the biggest I've ever been and it's because I'm not eating healthy and laying on the couch all day. I have no energy or motivation to even get up and walk.

Please help me. I want to be active and lose weight, but it's like there is a blockage between by brain and my muscles. What can I do? Take energy supplements?

My mom told me a while back that in order to have an out of body experience, you must have reached a certain level of consciousness. Is this true? And how do you do that? Or does it just happen. I've never had an out of body experience, or seen myself in a dream, etc. It's always been a first person dream.

I've taken several pregnancy tests throughout the month, including yesterday, and all are negative. I was pregnant a year ago, and found out right at 4 weeks, and had every symptom possible. Now, all I have is lightly sore nipples.

My real question is, is it possible for the hgc to not be in my urine with this pregnancy, but for it to have been in the last?

Why else would I be 4 weeks late?

I have been on birth control for nearly a year and usually start bleeding on the 2nd day of inactive pills. Its now the 5th day and I'm 3 days late. I do not have sore boobs, morning sickness, fatigue, food diversions (like I did with my previous pregnancy which only made it to 8 weeks). All I have is a little cramping and alot of white milky discharge. I took a cheap dollar store test yesterday and it was negative. I just feel as though, since im on BC, I should have gotten my period if I weren't pregnant. Also!! I took amoxicillin at the beginning of this pack of pills for a week.

I just got a spray tan (looks great surprisingly!) and I have unlimited tanning and spray tans with my membership. Do I need to wait to get in the bed or should I just do more spray on top of the spray I just got? I am new to the whole tanning thing.

I've made good stew before, but this one isn't right. It's got stew meat, tomatoes, potatoes, corn, green beans and onion. It's been on slow cook in the crock pot for about 4 hours now. I have 5 beef bouillon cubes in there as well. Salt and pepper were added too.
